Popular Post Adam Montana Posted February 7, 2019 Popular Post Report Share Posted February 7, 2019 ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani met on Thursday with his Iraqi counterpart Adil Abdul-Mahdi in Baghdad. The two premiers reportedly discussed bilateral ties and ways to resolve the remaining disputes between Erbil and Baghdad. This is the first visit to Baghdad by PM Barzani since the approval of Iraq’s 2019 budget bill which secured the salaries for Peshmerga and public servants of Kurdistan Region. I'm thinking there is some reading into this meeting. There has been a lot of excitement the past few days which may be bleeding in to every article that comes out now. I really hope I'm wrong and that this meeting yields something positive, but I've been down this road many times. But, as Adam says "sometimes you have to read between the lines" One thing is for sure, they are gearing up for something big, and now that the Kurds are happy with their share, perhaps, other issues will move along much more smother.........note on PERHAPS. We are in interesting times here ladies and gentlemen, hard to not let the emotions run a little, but, keeping things in perspective, knowing this is Iraq, will keep feet firmly planted on the ground.
