fnbplanet
I knew they'd do this weeks ago. Just glad they didn't wait until IDF were inside. No way these barbarians were going to let anyone else use that mosque. Destroying historical landmarks kinda reminds me of what the revisionistas are doing down south with civil war memorials...... 6
Synopsis
One thought that just crossed my mind. With the caliphate lost in the Mosul Old City, ISIS may choose to withdraw its elements back into Syria from Iraq since ISIS no longer has any strategic hold in or significant income from Iraq. This would make the IDF advances much faster through the Iraqi villages and the previous remaining ISIS key areas in Iraq. Could be days not weeks or months. Only a thought and a thought only! Go Moola Nova!

Theseus
Realize ISIS was once Al Qaeda and there has been chatter they want to reconcile. So if ISIS were to get wiped out, Al Qaeda would have to be wiped out. ISIS could merge seamlessly back into the ranks of Al Qaeda and a lot would be the none wiser. Until the war is fought on ideology, no matter how many ISIS's get eradicated as a group another will pop up. For example, Boko Haram in Northern Africa which sells slaves and women in the KSA and elsewhere in the muslim world. Hezbollah fighting on behalf of Iran. Muslim Brotherhood reinvented themselves as the interpreters to the west and have infiltrated the bowels of the American Government. The ideology of Islam to perpetrate violence is deeply ingrained into its very fabric. ISIS goes down its only a matter of time before another fills the vacuum because the fundamental ideology of this war has not been countered or even attempted to be countered. It was not until the mainstream of the American public went against Naziism and Communism did it become what it is today. Although there are attempts to bring both back subtly. I heard something interesting today. The fact is that violence begets stronger authoritarian rule to stop the violence but when the violence has been squashed, the authoritarian rule remains. The stronger and more deeply the violence goes, the stronger the authoritarian rule is. The Quran, not written in chronological order such as the Bible is, does have peaceful verses in it. However, these verses are no longer valid taken in a contextual framework. The peaceful verses are followed by even more threatening verses until the blood if the nonbeliever is called for. After 9-11 universities such as UNC mandated incoming freshman were to study from a lit of books. On them were the so-called peaceful verses found in the Quran. The course never said anything about these verses were abrogated with more violent verses. Nor was it said that the stories in the Quran that emulated those in the Torah and the Bible did not end the same way as the books that came before the Quran. For years the talking point was that Islam was the fastest growing religion in the World. However, that and the study today, both are faulty as each denomination of Christianity is pitted against the whole of Islam. When all of the statistics are added up for Christianity, Islam falls to number 8 on the list. Yes, growth but not as strong growth when the numbers are correct. Islam was never hijacked in the present if you look how it was born. ISIS and others still practice the 7th century Islam as it was in the 7th century. To claim Islam was hijacked is to fall into a false narrative. Only moderate muslims in the world are those who either have renounced Islam or are calling for its reform like Catholicism had. Until then ISIS may be eradicated, it may be sucked back into the ranks of AlQaeda from whence it came. Whatever the scenario, until we fight Islam on the ideology front, the portends of violent Islam will remain and fester like a puss filled wound infecting all that are in contact with it. Destroy the ideology and you will destroy not only ISIS but the terrorism that goes along with it. However, one last point is that the world sees the US on a pedestal. It is the shining beacon of light in the world that all point to. There will always be complaints and those who are willing to knock the US off the pedestal. As a nation this is what it means to be vigilant against those who seek to destroy us.

In the statement, the ministry said that ISIS had exploited children and adolescents' hunger to force them to join its terrorists in Mosul. It also noted that after ISIS terrorists besieged residents of Mosul, the city suffered from food shortage, pointing out that this led young people and children living in the city to resort to unlawful means to get food such as theft. This give ISIS chance to exploit those young people, threatening them either to be affiliated to the group or have their hands cut as punishment, it stated. According to the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, teenagers of Mosul were under pressure to acquiesce and join the terrorist group. However, it said that those youngsters did not shed blood of their fellow citizens, adding that they surrendered to security forces and expressed regret. In May, The UNICEF warned in a report that Iraq's children are m venerable to recruitment by armed groups. Children in Iraq are suffering from the ongoing military conflict, without equitable access to quality education, which puts them at high risk in the future, it noted. It added that 40 percent of displaced families suffer from poverty and 50 percent of displaced children in Iraq dropped out of school. http://www.thebaghdadpost.com/en/story/13407/ISIS-children-turn-themselves-in-to-security-forces-in-Mosul-MoD
tigergorzow
Feuds Between IS Families and Iraqi Civilians Arise in Mosul Mira Rojkan 22/06/2017 - 01:37 Iraq SOFIA — Feuds have arose recently between families and tribes in Mosul, mostly between Islamic State (IS) members and civilians who had relatives killed by the group, Nineveh province council said on Wednesday. According to Hossam al-Abbar, a council member from Mosul, who spoke to Almaalomah website, feuds broke out at Qayyara, Hammam al-Alil and other regions south of Mosul after more displaced civilians returned to their homes shortly after the liberation of the areas. About 500 people protested in Qayyara on Wednesday, demanding for families related to IS members to be deported from the liberated areas, the mayor of the town, Khaled al-Jar told al-Quds al-Arabi. However, based on Iraqi laws, families of IS members cannot be punished for actions committed by the IS militants related to them, but they can be deported away from the city of Mosul in order to prevent any possible tensions between them and the local civilians. Earlier on Tuesday, Mosul City Council said in a statement it would no longer allow IS members' families from other provinces to migrate in the recently liberated areas of the city. The IS families who already live in Mosul will be deported and sheltered in special camps where will be provided with psychological and ideological rehabilitation and integration. http://www.basnews.com/index.php/en/news/iraq/359426
