  1. Widespread major protests are to start October 1st. Could have something to do with tying the ISX into NASDAQ also.
  2. So, does this say that they won't pass the budget until they can pass the HCL? Am I reading into this incorrectly?
  3. Maybe when they say "reduce" the dinar, they mean to reduce it from 1200 per dollar to ONE per dollar.
  4. RE: Dinar flow into Iran - I have long wondered about this very topic. I can't believe that the Insanians don't also know of the Dinar potential. IMHO, the dinar does NOT move in value until there is some kind of broad, verifiable international solution to the Insanian issue, and/OR...... a major collapse of the current Insanian regime ( replaced by a more acceptable, reasonable version ).
  5. MAYBE, they've finally realized that having secure, prosperous Iraq as a stable buffer zone, is a good idea. MAYBE they will support Iraq in becoming a serious member of the Arab world, instead of just a playground for the worst elements of their biases against each other. With all of this "stability" going around, MAYBE the powers-that-be will push Iraq into getting their act together and pump up their international participation ( RI/RV ). (please also note from the pictures in the articles above: the guy from Kuwait actually has TWO eyebrows )
  6. Saudi Arabia has EVERYTHING to gain in getting the U.S. and everyone else riled up at Iran. Those two countries haaaaaaaaaate each other. Their proxy war in the Sudan is ample evidence.
  7. "On March 11, 2019, the Saudi news outlet Alarabiya.net, which is known for its anti-Iran views, published a report that...." Anyone consider that this is just some Saudi propaganda hogwash? Go on, tell me you haven't seen outright lies in their articles. Go on. We always need to first consider the source before we accept info as gospel truth. This info could be true. Maybe not at all. Just sayin'.....
  8. OOOH. That's gotta smart when this article hits Iraqi news media. Nobody in Iraq had the guts to say that out loud. Well, it's out there now.
  9. How the heck do you blame another freakin' country for sectarianism in your own country? Is he saying that the Jews are responsible for the Kurds, Sunnis and Shiites living in the same country and competing to see who the best thieves are? Poppycock. ( my "word of the day" )
  10. Just where would one park the Bently?
  11. Iran and Iraq have recently announced that they will be trading with each other in their own currencies. Now, Iran wants to drop four zeroes, at a time that Iraq is ever nearer to their goal of dropping three of them. Just wondering........if maybe they were thinking of doing all of this "dropping of zeroes" simultaneously. Hmm.
  12. It wouldn't fix everything in Parliament, but if all votes were secret, and the party bosses/whips couldn't find out how members voted, they might get more done. IMO
  13. I'm not so sure putting Iraqi Dinars in the hands of Iran is such a good thing. Wouldn't the USA, knowing that Iran has been accumulating dinar, then be reluctant to facilitate a value increase in the dinar, thus benefiting Iran?
  14. Still has to get through a dysfunctional Parliament, assuming they meet quorum and nobody has a beef with how much of the pie that they get. Still, they're ahead of previous year's schedule.
  15. I cannot see the lower denoms that we want to see coming out shortly, as some suspect. I believe the primary reason for this current release is to ease transactions on the street. They're rioting about a whole list of things in Basra, and don't need the populace getting upset about anything else that's not been attended to. They're trying to show that they're doing something "for the people", while also buying time to form a government (stability). As such, releasing lower denoms anytime soon would be terribly confusing to the public, whom they have vowed to be educated on the whole process. These recent notes will take a few weeks to obtain the desired effect of easing everyday transactions and to filter through to the more "rural" areas. If another purpose is to replace/withdraw older notes, my guess is that it will also take some time. Perhaps they want to remove the last of the counterfeiting vulnerabilities before making the BIG move. I'm then thinking that the dust/sand will have settled enough by year end before they have to cope with the very real shock of an RI/RV.
  16. Amazing. In the land where Arabic numerals were invented, it seems they have devolved to the point that basic math is an insurmountable task.
  17. "On January 11, 2011, Faleh al-Fayadh was appointed by former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki as a national security adviser. He succeeded Dawa Party leader Safa al-Sheikh, who held the post after Mowaffaq al-Rubaie and was appointed president in 2014 after the formation of the crowd. And its declaration as an official institution in the Iraqi state. " Abadi axes another Maliki thug. It'll cost him some supporters, which will expose those supporters of being thugs too. Hope the price isn't too high at this stage of the game. Have to think Abadi knows that he already has enough support coming from the Kurds and Sunnis to have the stones to make such a huge move at this critical time!
