Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Representative Moeen Al-Kadhimi, announced on Monday that the current month will witness the arrival of amendments to the budget schedule for the current year to the House of Representatives.
Al-Kadhimi told Al-Maalouma, “The mini-economic council formed by the Council of Ministers is in the process of putting the final touches to amending the budget schedules for the current year, and it is likely that the amendments will reach Parliament in the middle of this month for approval.”
He added, "The government's amendments included an increase in financial allocations for the food ration, an increase in oil production costs, and an increase in social welfare allocations."
Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Representative Mustafa Al-Karaawi, explained that the tripartite federal budget for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025 stipulated that the House of Representatives be provided with updated tables for the 2024 budget in order to discuss the issue of increase or decrease in financial allocations according to expected revenues and according to the fixed oil price.

My perspective and my opinion only;

 

Without a formal budget, all the Iraqi government Bureaucrats can continue to steal, cheat, rob and pilfer because there is no accountability, as long as the guy above them gets his cut.

 

There is no structured amount of budget "allocation" that they need to work with. Thus, no accountability.

 

There are no regulations or procedures that need to be followed due to the lack of a current budget.

 

There is no accountability for the money that each government bureaucrat spends or where the money goes.

 

They all drink out of the same bottomless Government punch bowl .............

 

So they fight and work hard to pass this 3 year budget, giving the citizens the impression that they, the government, are working in their best interest. But in reality it is an open ended, unlimited opportunity for the bureaucrats to enrich themselves.

 

The hospital can't afford a liter of fuel for their ambulances ? Gee, I wonder where the money went ?

 

And the "currency auctions" CBI continues to send $US to Iran on almost a daily basis.

Ir you remember the supplementary budget was to cover off on social security welfare and reconstruction…this is why two budgets one based on rate change as per their articles….they merged two into one..
