I think the first part of your post is spot on but I think when Maliki took over and then the Iranian influence grew under our last President, that’s when it all went south imo.

The rebuild and a new Democracy in the Middle East was hi jacked by Greed and Political agendas.

If President Trump were around 10 years ago do you think he would have taken our troops out of Iraq leaving a terrible void?  If President Trump was running the show do you think ISIS would have even be an issue?  Do you think Shabibi would have been arrested?    Do you think we would have made a dumb Nuclear Deal and funded Iranian terrorism throughout the ME by giving Iran 1.7B?  Obama was correct, Elections do have consequences.  Iraqi was sold out to Iran and our last President facilitated that imo.  I’m sure some will disagree but that’s how I see it.

Exciting details about the storming of the American embassy: Maesh militias paid $ 35 for each component involved in the incident

20

Observers revealed exciting details in the process of storming the ISIS terrorist militia against the American embassy in Baghdad, where the militias involved three thousand people in the storming for $ 35 per item.

Observers emphasized that this is not new to those terrorist militias loyal to Iran, as some are exploited in exchange for cheap money to carry out these sordid purposes.

The incident showed the besieging of the American embassy in Baghdad showed the extent of the power and influence of the forces loyal to Iran in Iraq, in front of the weakness of the state and its security services and its inability to implement its international obligations to protect diplomatic missions.

For its part, the New York Times reported that the Iraqi government "intentionally allowed protesters from the Hashd militia to enter the Green Zone and demonstrate in front of the US embassy building and attack it."

The newspaper added in a report that "the Iraqi government allowed members of the crowd to enter the fortified Green Zone on Tuesday, which allowed the protest to take place, and showed Iran's strong influence as well as the government’s difficulty in controlling these {protesters}."

She noted that "their ability to storm the most heavily guarded areas in Baghdad indicates that they have obtained at least implicit permission from Iraqi security officials sympathetic to their demands."

For his part, the leader of the Salvation and Development Front, Atheel al-Nujaifi, said in a press statement that Tehran was financing the militias from Iraqi, not Iranian, funds, and the Iraqi funded sources are still available through the economic offices they have and their ideological parties.

As well as from the corruption funds that were looted from the Iraqi state, such as oil, and the sale of currency in auctions of the Central Bank, which is a major source for financing Iran's wars abroad.

Al-Nujaifi also confirmed that these funds are stolen from the money of the Iraqi state, and the militias are funded by them to support the Iranian revolution in all its arms.

He pointed out that these militias beat the unarmed Iraqi demonstrators with their weapons, killed and injured thousands of them, only because they demanded their legitimate rights, and that these militias possess a religious belief that is to preserve the authority and power of the Iranian revolution at all costs and whatever blood is shed to maintain its control, especially in Iraq.

The Iraqi people reject the attack by the Maesh terrorist militia on the American embassy in Baghdad

2
Iraqi activists on social media have affirmed that the Iraqi people, in all its sects, rejected the attack and aggression of the Maesh terrorist militia on the American embassy in Baghdad.

And the Iraqi people demanded the arrest of all terrorist elements that attacked the American embassy, headed by the leader of the terrorist mobilization militia, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, as well as the leader of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq militia, Qais Khazali.

The activists stressed that it was time to get rid of dependency on Iran and expel the Iranian ambassador, Erg Masjedi, as well as expel Qassem Soleimani, commander of the so-called Qods Force, of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

Supporters of the Islamic State militia, carrying the flags of the Popular Mobilization and the Iraqi Hezbollah, attacked, today, Tuesday, the American embassy in Baghdad.

After storming one of the gates of the embassy, they stormed the embassy outside, denouncing the American air strikes that targeted Sunday bases belonging to the Iraqi pro-Iranian Hezbollah Brigades.

Iraqi security forces fired tear gas to disperse the militias in front of the American embassy in Baghdad, while a number of attackers burned the embassy’s protection caravans at the external gates, amid reports that the Iraqi Minister of Interior had arrived at the embassy building.

Video footage from there showed Qais Khazali and Hadi Al-Amri, leaders of the Al-Asa’ib and Badr militia, leading the storming of the American embassy.

Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Hamid al-Jazaery, leader of the Khurasani Militia, also joined in the attempts to storm the US embassy.

For his part, US President Donald Trump blamed Iran for masterminding the attack on the US embassy in Baghdad, and called on Iraqis to be free from Tehran's hegemony.

In a tweet, Trump said that Iran had killed an another site, and had wounded many. We have responded strongly, and we will always do so. Now Iran is planning the attack on the American embassy in Iraq, and they will bear full responsibility, and we expect Iraq to use its forces to protect the embassy. We have informed them.

In a later tweet, Trump told the Iraqis: Those who want freedom and do not want to submit to Iran's domination and control: This is your time.

Trump's tweets represented a shift in the American position towards the head of the American administration directly, and not from any other official, about the future of dealing with the Iraq file and the role that Iran plays in it.

Iraqis welcome the US bombing of the Islamic State militia, and demand the dissolution of terrorist groups

1

The Iraqis welcomed the American bombing of the pro-Iranian terrorist militias, the Ma’esh Brigades, which are affiliated with the Iraqi Hezbollah, and asserted that they wanted to get rid of those militias.

Activists on social media called for the dissolution of the sectarian popular crowd; all terrorist militias in the country, such as Asaib Ahl al-Haq, Badr Militia, Al-Najaba Movement, and others.

The United States launched 5 raids on facilities belonging to the militia of the "Iraqi Hezbollah" in the Al-Qaim region of Al-Anbar Province in western Iraq, where the Pentagon announced that the air strikes resulted in the death of the leader of the militia Abu Ali Khazali.

Political sources said that drones launched strikes at the headquarters of the popular crowd, "Brigade 45", in the district of Al-Qaim in Anbar Province, western Iraq. Noting that the attacks are targeted by the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades.

The Iraqi army had said in a statement that several missiles hit the Iraqi "K1" military base, which includes American and Iraqi forces near the oil-rich city of Kirkuk.

Informed sources said, "The outcome of the strike on the headquarters of the 45th and 46th Brigades amounted to 19 dead and 35 wounded."

And the American air strikes resulted in dozens of dead and wounded among the members of those brigades, including the brigade commander of the brigade 45, according to what the popular crowd announced.

The strike was a quick response to the targeting of dozens of missiles at a military base in Kirkuk, killing an American.

The Pentagon has announced that the air strikes resulted in the death of the leader of the militias Abu Ali Khazali.

And Abu Ali Khazali, who was killed in the American strikes, is Morteza Ghaylan Salman Khazali, the most prominent leader of the Iraqi Hezbollah militia, who played a role in the displacement of Sunnis in western Iraq.

He fought within the ranks of Hezbollah in Syria, and was chosen to lead a regiment within the "Brigade 45" of the Iraqi Hezbollah, to establish the Iranian presence on the Iraqi-Syrian border.

He also supervised the storage of Iranian weapons and missiles at the border.

He is considered close to the leader of the Iranian Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani.

The Iraqis affirmed, during their postings on their Facebook pages, that Iraq has no camel or camel in a battle fought by its Shiite terrorist militia for the sake of Iranian influence and the implementation of Tehran's expansion project in the Arab region.

And they pointed out, it is time to end the domination of the armed militias on the Sunni areas, and to introduce state agencies there as soon as possible to manage and rebuild them.

They stressed that the elimination of Iranian influence, the Safavid militias, and the displacement of the Safavid forces, is the fundamental demand of the Sunnis.

The activists affirmed that the leaders of the sectarian crowd, such as Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, Hadi Al-Amri and Qais Khazali, do not care about the Sistani authority nor its fatwas; they will not give up their influence inside Iraq as easily as some believe.

Therefore, the Iraqis are demanding the disposal of these pro-Iranian militias and their leaders.

On Tuesday morning, supporters of the Popular Mobilization shed the corpse of the victims of the American bombing at the headquarters of the Hezbollah Brigades in Al-Qaim.

Pompeo postpones a crucial visit to Ukraine related to "Trump" because of the situation in Iraq

Baghdad: Yassin Iraq

Today, Wednesday, the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo postponed a scheduled trip to Ukraine to "follow the situation" in Iraq, where crowd protesters stormed the American embassy in Baghdad, according to State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagos.

The spokeswoman said in a statement that the entire tour that would have led Pompeo at the weekend to Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Cyprus will be reorganized.

On Tuesday, a group of demonstrators stormed the American embassy in Baghdad, condemning the air strikes targeting the Hezbollah Brigades, which resulted in the death of 25 people.

The spokeswoman said Pompeo's travel was postponed "because of the need for the Secretary of State to be in Washington, DC, to continue monitoring developments in Iraq and ensuring the safety and security of Americans in the Middle East."

"Minister Pompeo's trip will be rescheduled in the near future as he looks forward to making this visit," she added.

Kiev's visit would have been the first by a US official to this level since a scandal broke out in 2019 against the backdrop of a controversial phone call in which President Donald Trump tried to pressure his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelinsky, to discredit Joe Biden, a potential Democratic presidential candidate.

When the visit of Pompeo, the strong defender of Trump, was announced on Monday, Ortagos said the minister will meet Zielinski and senior Ukrainian officials.

The Iraqis want a homeland

- 17 Hours Have Passed

%D9%88%D8%B7%D9%86-300x169.jpg

The wishes of the Iraqi protesters for the new year are similar. Many hope that conditions will improve in their countries, that competent people and "patriots" will rule, and that peace and security will prevail in their homeland. Some are confident that Iraq will witness a major breakthrough in the new year, as a result of the impact that their demonstrations have had on the ruling parties, the resignation of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and the President of the Republic Barham Salih brandishing it. Banners are spread in various sizes on the Turkish restaurant building in the center of Tahrir Square in the capital Baghdad, where the demonstrations are located, and on other buildings, columns and fences, all of which reflect the demands of the demonstrators, most notably the phrase "we want a home" that has become a slogan for the demonstrators. "We want a homeland," wrote a sign hanging on a nearby tent under the Freedom Monument: "This is my wish for the new year." Fatima, who runs a gift shop, indicates that she wants to see her country safe and that Iraqis live in prosperity.

Those who wander among the demonstrators can notice the high percentage of poor people, among whom are tuk-tuk drivers. Also, a large percentage of citizens suffer from major living crises. According to a spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, Abd al-Zahra al-Hindawi, about 22.5 percent (about a quarter of the Iraqis) suffer from poverty.

Muhammad Kazim (20 years), a driver of the "Talk Talk" vehicle, decided to use it to serve the demonstrators in the pretending square in Baghdad. He says he works five hours a day to secure his family’s food, and he spends other hours "serving protesters." Although his family's home, which he describes as "worn out", consists of two small rooms, and eight people live in addition to it, his wish for the new year is for the revolution to prevail and peace prevails in the country.

Saadoun Shallal, 73, wishes the same. He says: "I hope the situation in Iraq will change for the better." Shalal receives a pension of 300 thousand dinars (about $ 250). At the moment, he is selling cigarettes to be able to support his grandchildren whose father was killed in the 2010 bombing. He adds that whenever he has an opportunity, he intends to pretend, explaining: “Our country has not changed. I cannot guarantee that my grandchildren's future will be better. However, the aim of the demonstrators is to change the state of the country for the better. I am not looking for a future for me. Like me, he should rest after retiring. But the corruption of governments and political parties deprived me of this comfort after I served the country in government jobs for 30 years. ”

The most noteworthy thing in the demonstration arenas is Iraqi flags, masks and headgear. Many people tattoo the Iraqi flag and the map of Iraq on their bodies. Sarah Youssef (22 years old) chose to tattoo the Iraqi flag on her right palm. Her hope for the new year is cut short by this tattoo, and “changing the bad reality in my country,” she says.

Sarah, who teaches in law, is keen to participate constantly in the demonstrations, accompanied by a group of her colleagues and colleagues at the university. One of the reasons they demonstrated was "revenge" for their colleague who died of cancer. “Our colleague died as a result of the government’s neglect of the health sector,” she says. There is a major deterioration in the health sector, causing thousands of deaths every month. When we own and run our homeland ourselves to serve us and our people, we will get rid of the global classifications that put us at the forefront of the most dangerous, most corrupt and backward countries in various areas of lifeTherefore, I summarize all my wishes with one wish, which is free from corrupt parties. ”

Sarah Youssef’s opinion is not different from her friend Amna Mahdi (23 years old), who is studying at the College of Languages, and she indicates that “Iraq is now lacking the simplest of services that are supposed to be available to any citizen.” She explains that "hospitals have become more threatening to the lives of citizens than they treat them, as there are no treatments, advanced equipment or modern hospitals, while old hospitals are worn out and unable to accommodate a large number of patients and auditors, in addition to the escape of competent doctors because of their threat." “The same is true for schools. Thousands of children study in clay and worn out buildings. Whereas, municipal services are almost suspended. The country also suffers from a severe shortage of electricity and safe drinking water. And she asserts that "the problems are many and cannot be counted, and they are caused by the corruption of government agencies that are run by the power parties."

Baghdad today - follow up

The Pentagon has asked members of the US Congress and government officials to avoid traveling to Iraq and Syria as a result of the current circumstances in Iraq and what happened in front of the American embassy in Baghdad.

A memorandum bearing the signature of US Defense Secretary Mark Asper said that government officials and members of the US Congress are not allowed to travel to Iraq and Syria until January 15.

The memo excludes the US president, his deputy, the secretary of defense, some ministers, and the chief of staff from banning travel to Iraq and Syria.

Pentagon officials attributed the issuance of this memo to the situations in the region.

The last visit by a congressional delegation to Iraq was in the beginning of last November, and there are currently congressional delegations visiting a number of Middle Eastern countries.

On Friday evening, December 27, 2019, a group of missiles targeted the K1 camp in Kirkuk, and a Pentagon official announced that the attack had killed an another site and wounded four soldiers.

In response to the aforementioned missile attack, the Pentagon announced on Sunday that it had carried out an air strike targeting five bases of the Hezbollah Brigades in Syria and Iraq.

The Pentagon statement said that three of those bases in Iraq and the other two bases were in Syria, and the bases contained weapons caches, in which it was planned to attack the international coalition forces in Iraq, according to the Pentagon.

The Iraqi Minister of the Interior, Yassin Al-Yasiri, announced earlier today, Wednesday, the end of the demonstration and the withdrawal of the protesters completely from the American embassy, in the Green Zone, in the center of the capital, Baghdad.

And the Iraqi satellite channel, in an urgent news, stated that "Interior Minister Yassin Al-Yasiri announced the end of the demonstration and the withdrawal of the demonstrators, in front of the American Embassy building completely."

Prior to that, the Joint Operations Command announced the end of the protest demonstrations in front of the American embassy, in the Green Zone, in the center of the capital.

The leadership said, in a statement, that "the perimeter of the United States embassy in Baghdad witnessed protests and sit-in by protesters yesterday, Tuesday, December 31, 2019, and continued until today, and was marked by cases of burning, breaking the doors and glass of the main information of the embassy."

She added: "And based on Iraq's obligations to protect diplomatic missions and embassies countries within Iraqi territories, the Prime Minister directed the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to secure and protect the embassy and its employees, and he called on the demonstrators and angry protesters to withdraw from its surroundings and end the protests and sit-in, and that their message had arrived."

It continued, "Accordingly, all the protesters withdrew, the marquee was lifted and the demonstrations accompanying these protests ended. The Iraqi security forces secured the entire perimeter of the embassy."
The crowd called, earlier in the day, the protesters located near the American embassy, in the Green Zone, in the center of the capital, Baghdad, to withdraw.

On Tuesday morning (December 31, 2019), massive demonstrations protested against the strikes launched by the United States, last Sunday, at the sites of "Hezbollah Brigades" in border lands of Iraq and Syria, and resulted in the death of at least 25 people. As they set up sit-in tents in front of the embassy.

And participated in the demonstrations condemning the American bombing, in front of the US embassy, the Secretary-General of Asaib Ahl al-Haq, Qais Khazali, the Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, and the head of the Popular Mobilization Organization, Faleh al-Fayyad, his deputy Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and the Deputy Secretary-General for Saraya al-Khorasani, Hamid al-Jaza’iri, while Hasan Salem, a member of Parliament, raised the representatives of the Popular Mobilization and the Hezbollah Brigades on the embassy’s external fence.
