It's a miracle, really. Could hardly get a quorum in 4 months, then.....voila!!! A gathering of losers (hoping these 172 are the ones that lost in elections) vote in a 'retro' law and demand a recount. But still couldn't get a quorum (50 out of 328) to get immediate action on the pending water crisis that will affect hundreds of thousands. The Fed needs to step in and put an immediate end to this or results and action could take the rest of the year. Yes, 10 years, knee cap 'em.

The Iraqi parliament is organizing a "white coup" on the election results

Since 2018-06-08 at 10:04 (Baghdad time)

Sdsfsdf.jpg

 Baghdad - Mawazine News

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq's parliament is setting a "white coup" on the results of a parliamentary election on May 12, the newspaper Al-Arab reported on Friday, noting that recent judicial proceedings, which will be subject to results, will not change the ranking of the winners in the front.

The newspaper quoted the Iraqi media as saying that "the decision of the parliament to recount the elections manually, aims to partially wrap the results that threaten the influence of the parties, which are parties in the majority in the current parliament, and the goal is not change the results of the blocks winning the first ranks, Small in the form that may lead to change the equation of forming the government. "

It is certain that the results of the Iraqi general elections, announced on the nineteenth of last month, "is no longer final," after the announcement of the abolition of the work of the Council of the Electoral Commission, which oversaw the voting process, and assign judges to run a manual process to count and sort Votes, in implementation of parliamentary legislation, issued Wednesday.

The Supreme Judicial Council, the highest authority in Iraq, announced on Thursday that "all members of the Supreme Judicial Council will be invited to meet next Sunday to name the judges who will be assigned to carry out the work of the Board of Commissioners and to oversee the re-counting of the results of the elections and naming judges who will Offices of the Electoral Commission in the provinces ".

The council decided to "form a committee from the head of public prosecution and head of judicial supervision and judicial supervisors to move immediately to the electoral commission building to prepare for the task of the judiciary under the third amendment law of the election law and take all the necessary measures to maintain the ballot boxes.

The Judicial Council considered that "with the issuance of the law of amending the election law, the work of the judicial authority for the relevant elections will depend on the consideration of the appeals submitted on the results of counting and electronic sorting until the procedures of manual counting and sorting are resolved and new appeals are submitted."

In practice, the Judicial Council completely removed the Electoral Commission and committed all parties pending its outcome.

"Al-Anbar and our allies, belonging to the party led by businessman Jamal Karbouli, as well as the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), founded and headed by the late Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, are the parties, according to the newspaper. Which will lose some seats, because of the manual counting and counting of votes.

According to observers, the end of the fuss of electoral fraud at this point may be the satisfaction of various parties, especially the winner of them.

According to observers' estimates, recent judicial proceedings will not change the ranking of the winners in the introduction, and may not even change the number of their seats, but will also affect some Sunni and Kurdish circles, with objections backed by compelling evidence.

But political expectations go to a scenario that may anger everyone, in the event of the discovery of large fraud, which puts the entire electoral process in the circle of suspicion, and encourages the opponents to demand the cancellation of the results altogether.

In response, deputies in the current Iraqi parliament, whose legal mandate continues until the end of this month, that "the amendment of the election law did not provide any case for the cancellation or re-election, but is a text on the corrective method of uncertainty in the electoral process is a method Counting and counting hands ".

"Even if we say that half of the vote is canceled, the electoral process is on its way, and even canceled and not reinstated."

The House of Representatives on Wednesday succeeded in gathering 172 deputies to hold a session to vote on the amendment of the electoral law and its application retroactively to the elections held on the twelfth of last month, which is a clear indication of the possible change in the results.

An Iraqi observer told the Arabs that "the Shiite parties sought to appear as if they were far from the conflict, while the conflict in fact between two fronts, led by one of Nuri al-Maliki and the other leader of Moqtada al-Sadr, stood between them outgoing Prime Minister Haider Abadi, When he stressed that the election was marred by fraud and the formation of a committee to investigate, which is questioning the men of law constitutionality.

The observer added that "Abadi has tended to ease the burden of loss on his party leader Nuri al-Maliki by responding to the protests of the Sunni parties loser, headed by Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri, known for his alliance with al-Maliki," noting that "Jubouri mobilized the House of Representatives against the election results Which means that there is an alliance between the legislative and executive authorities, which aims to disrupt the results of the elections and the search for an alternative mechanism to continue the political process. "

He warned that the freezing of the election results will enter Iraq in a new cycle of disputes, which is dominated by this time a conflict between the winning parties, particularly the alliance (s) and parties that appear as if they are losing because they will not seize the executive standing in the forefront of the alliance (Hadi Amiri and Nuri al - ) Is a new old conflict may lead this time to ignite a popular sedition if Sadr insists on getting his electoral entitlement.
