Is this the first time they've ever passed a budget or do they pass one every year? I heard the HCL might be in there somewhere.

Sadly they pass a new budget every year. I don't know about the HCL being included.

Maybe I missed something.  How did they pass the budget with only one reading?  Don't they need 2 or 3 readings before it's really passed?

I think they did. If you read Yotas post, it says in small writing what reading it was. I could be wrong, but that is the way I took it.

The Best Of Your Evening AND Weekend To You, RMC10!!! :tiphat:

The 2017 budget seemingly had all the HCL language in it as I read it. However, the HCL (and things like Article 140) is a completely separate and needed piece of legislation. The HCL (and things like Article 140) appear to still need to be addressed.

They may be on their way so will have to keep watching the news articles!!! :twothumbs:

Go Moola Nova!

Correct NannaB. They do a budget every year. This year there was a LOT of pressure from USA, US Treasury, World Bank and especially IMF....who has been holding the hands of these fools throughout the entire process and making them accountable for all the money they have been loaned in the past dozen years. FINALLY !! They've had their hand out to beg, borrowed hundreds of millions. Time to pay the piper and tighten those belts.

HCL is a different animal in itself. Has never been a part of the budget that I know.

Thanks gals/guys. I hope we get good HCL news soon. ♡

agree Rmc, just like we never know the details and side deals to get things passed in our own respected countries we really have no idea the details in iraq either that said it seems maybe something has occurred behind the scenes between baghdad and the kurds pumping oil thru the ceyhan pipeline under iraqs oil marketing company sumo unless baghdad has taken that away from the kurds i believe that pipeline started in the kirkuk region and abadi did push the kurds outa there , in the end we are really just hopeful speculators ... we wait still
