  2. Still My Opinion We Will See RV Last Week Of June” Tlar: Comment – I know that many of you that follow the news on Iraq see that insurgents have taken Mosul, the second largest city in Iraq. Maliki ordered the troops that were supposed to defend the city, to stand down and leave everything including all equipment and armaments behind. The insurgents moved right in with little to no fighting, taking government buildings over. This is a Maliki ploy to attempt to declare Martial Law. He needs parliament to approve it. He hopes through this to scare parliament into giving him complete control of Iraq. Mysteriously the “insurgents” went to Nujaifi’s parents home, the President of Parliament and planted bombs all around that house. They blew it up. One house out of an entire neighborhood. ~~~ Parliament will not declare Martial Law because they are not so stupid as Maliki thinks they are. The opposition will not give Maliki these dictorial (DICTATOR?) powers 4 days before he will be removed and lose his immunity I assure you. Maliki let Mosul be taken because it is his last desperate hope to stay in power. He knows that he will ultimately be hung and his family will lose all their stolen possessions if he can’t continue on as PM. What we are witnessing is the desperation of a dictator. He intentionally allowed Mosel to be taken and if I am right, he will be found complicit in the take-over.. The Kurds have already sent their army in to take the city back, The US has brought in 8000 troops, not the 4 or 5 thousand being reported, to assist the Kurds while the impotent Iraq army stands down. The US forced Maliki to let the Kurdish army go in and reclaim the city. He did not want anyone to go in as part of his hope to get Martial Law declared. THERE WILL BE NO MARTIAL LAW GRANTED TO THIS JERK. I assure you. The opposition sees right through this act of treason of his. His hands are dirty and the truth of this will come out that Maliki either supplied the uniforms to the insurgents which made it easy for them to gain access or he had his corrupt murderous general, one of the two generals he had put on his list requesting immunity for in his negotiation to step down, send Iraqi troops into Mosul to pave the way for the insurgents. Either way, the Iraqi army had to at least known the insurgents were coming what with technology is today yet we are to believe the army had no heads up. There is only one corridor the insurgents could have come through. The Kurds had warned the army to cover this corridor and had they done that they could have easily stopped the insurgents before they ever got to the city of Mosul. Again that is very suspicious along with the timing of this. Truck convoys in the desert are easy to see and they were either ignored or given safe passage to Mosul. This will not slow down the election one iota. In fact it will most likely probably speed the process up. A new government is coming to Iraq and the Mosul situation is being reversed quickly as I write this. The Kurds have already taken back key areas including the airport. Also some of you have voiced concern about the money that the insurgents took from the banks. It will be found and brought back quickly. It is still my opinion that the last week of June we will still see the RV. If you have followed my emails from the beginning you will see that only twice have I even said when they were going to do it. Later the CBI admitted that on both occasions they had intended to do it and had stopped for one reason or another mostly being Maliki. The only thing that may have changed is the amount. I still believe we will see a $1.50 to $2.00 dinar but I have received some information that it could break the $2.00 range. Those of you that think I am talking out of my head, watch and see if I am not right. Mosul will be retaken quickly as the ISIS is losing ground hourly. Turki will pull the trigger sometime between June 26th and July first. Remember, for those of you who don’t quite see this yet, “it is only through chaos that great opportunities truly exist. Orderliness breeds stagnation and little opportunity – tlar” Enjoy this. You are witness to the birth of a new democracy in the ME and just maybe other countries around Iraq will also take a look see and come of age. Birthing can be very painful. Ask any women you know. tlar Political figures moving to the formation of a national salvation government alternative to Maliki a464583961f2802ea6eba18cd20ce7ff_S.jpg BAGHDAD / Baghdadi News / .. Sources familiar, Wednesday, that the important political figures began its movement and its contacts with the political blocs from within and outside the political process for the purpose of forming a government of national salvation alternative to the current government. 6. Don't quit your day job (if you're lucky enough to have one!)... but some of this does make sense. I have always heard that there would be an event SO AWEFUL right before the RV that it would make even the die-hard believers consider selling... could this be what we're seeing? Phoenix thinks so... Special Matrix Of Information Update ~ Phoenix Rising Radio ~ Wednesday, June 11, 2014 .. 8:00 PM EST As our listeners know, on May 23rd of this year I posted a special alert about the pending situation in Iraq that was based upon our “matrix of information”. Here is the alert from May 23rd: Message from Phoenix... Maliki will be voted in as the next Prime Minister of Iraq for a third and final term. According to our “Matrix of Information” we are calling Maliki as the winner of his third term as Prime Minister of Iraq. For those who may be new listeners to Phoenix Rising Radio our Matrix of Information is the method we use to make near and long term speculative calls on both economic and geopolitical outcomes. If you were to view the matrix as a structure it would be in the shape of a pyramid with the largest part, the base of the pyramid being factual, documented and proven information. The next smaller level is made up of historical information (also factual). We use the historical information to calculate the probabilities of the current situations and or events replicating the past outcomes. The top and smallest level of the matrix is what we call the “Other” The “Other” consists of all unconventional means of perceived outcomes such as astrology, prophecy, and remote viewing. Note: we consider technical remote viewing as a form of military esoteric martial arts. With that clarified I will move on to the issue at hand…Maliki’s third term. As long time listeners will know I have speculated for years that we would see the following events unfold in the following order: 1. The announcement from the Central Bank of Iraq of the new backing basket for the Iraqi Dinar and new associated rate. We speculate this starting rate to be at or near .30 (thirty cents) Along with this announcement will be the announcement and issue of new currency with Kurdish language included on the bills. 2. Right after this happens an event we have dubbed the “kicking over of the game board” (massive military conflict in the region) will occur. 3. The next event would be the announcement of Kurdistan of calling for a referendum for independence from Iraq declaring the forming of their own independent nation. Please be advised according to or matrix…all of these events are right upon us. According to our matrix there will be two separate changes of the Iraqi Dinar in relation to its value to the US dollar. The first change of rate will be the one mentioned above of a 3 to 1 value announcement which will equate to 3 Iraqi dinars = 1 US dollar or somewhere around 1 IQD = .33 cents US. The second change of the value of the IQD to the USD will not be because of a rise in value of the Iraqi dinar but will result in the falling of value of the US dollar worldwide. This second event which is the global fall of the US dollar will be because of a combined result of economic and military failures. As you know we have been predicting and covering all of these upcoming events on Phoenix Rising Radio and Going Global, East Meets West for years and we now report that the time has come that we will see the entire above made manifest in short order. Suggested course of action: Have a plan and plan to act…but above all seek guidance and wisdom and protection through prayer. Suggested reading: Psalm 91 asdf June 11... That alert still stands and has in fact now become more intense. The situation in Iraq with the terror group ISIS has set up an additional “Hegelian Dialectic” situation that concerns the Iraqi Dinar. You see with the news today of the theft of 500 billion Iraqi Dinar in Iraq which now makes this terror group the wealthier than some small nations the world and Iraq now has a “problem”. We are starting to see the “reaction” to this problem in all of the worlds media talking about all of the problems this could cause on a global scale. So what is the “solution”? We know that the plans of the Central Bank of Iraq to issue new currency calling in the larger notes (removal of the zeros) has been planned for the middle of 2014 for a while and the two primary reasons for this move according to the CBI is to stop counterfeiting and to stop terrorist funding! So NOW that the terror group ISIS has 500 billion IQD the CBI will be FORCED to take action as soon as possible by announcing the new backing basket with the new associated rate and also issuing new currency that will be exchanged for the old. Now this has a new twist to it also…you see because the terrorist have that much dinar they cannot allow it to stay in circulation long or thjey will have a chance to spend and or launder it so the CBI must now put a short time limit on the exchange! They have said in the past that both currencies would coexist for 2 years but now with this new PROBLEM the only SOLUTION will be to have the time of exchange drastically reduced. I speculate that that time window may be as short as 30 days. So the Hegelian Dialectic in this situation is: PROBLEM: Terrorist now have 500 billion Iraqi Dinars ($429,000,000) REACTION: Outcry on a global scale. SOLUTION: Action by the CBI on the Iraqi Dinar as soon as possible. Be advised…action by the CBI may happen at any moment. Have a plan…and plan to act. Phoenix June 12, 2014 Matrix of Information Status Report 1. Expect massive military operations by coordinated efforts of the Iraqi Military and volunteer militia forces that have been formed by the tribal leaders to work in conjunction with the Iraqi Army in a massive attack on the terrorist forces. This will begin within the next 24hrs. Note: This operation is being led by the supreme commander of the Iraqi forces... Maliki 2. Because of the failure of the Iraqi Parliament to reach a quorum and the failure to activate a legal declaration of emergency in Iraq this prevents the ability of the commander in chief (Maliki) from authorizing the use of foreign troops to aid in the operation. The United States sent a rapid reaction force to Iraq to help with the operation but because the failure of parliament to reach a quorum to declare a formal emergency there is now no legal basis that would allow the US troops to aid Iraq so they will just remain in static positions unable to give assistance in any way. 3. It is anticipated that the operation will be a success on many levels. One level will be the rousting of the terrorist forces in a great battle and the other great success will be in the unity that will be formed by Maliki and his efforts to include all tribes and groups in Iraq of both Sunni and Shia to defeat the terrorist together and this will be a deciding factor that insures Maliki's 3rd term as Prime Minister. 4. The current situation with the CBI and the Iraqi dinar that I outlined in yesterdays report is still in effect and the action by the CBI to complete the SOLUTION to the now existing PROBLEM is active and on going. Will update the Matrix as needed. asdf

  10. I've been invested in the dinar for only 3 years, but it's long enough to know not to believe all the rumors that pop up. However, as I am new age kind of gal, I like and follow Phoenix (along with only a couple of others who seem knowledgeable and realistic about the whole situation in Iraq). Last month Phoenix proposed the following theory: Maliki will be reelected and the CBI will announce that the dinar will now be "asset backed" and they will then issue the new currency - that is the RV will happen. Phoenix expects the rate to be in the 30 cent range. Kurdistan will secede because Maliki was reelected and violence will break out. While Phoenix didn't report the time frame in the below link, he did give it on his radio show and he believes this will all happen by July 1. Last night, Phoenix - who still believes the above, added the following. Since one of the reasons that Iraq purposefully devalued their dinar back in 2003 was to keep financing out of terrorists' hands - and now that ISIS just stole 500 billion dinar from the banks in Mosul, which equates to over $429 million, the terrorists are now really well funded. Phoenix believes that the CBI will be forced to RV immediately and that they will put a really short (maybe only a 30 days) cash in time frame before the existing currency is declared invalid. This will force the terrorists to try to cash in their stolen dinar right away. There may even be records of the serial numbers of the stolen dinar, but in any event, it will likely be difficult for them to cash in that much dinar quickly and they will not likely be able to cash it all in within the 30 day window. ISIS would then not be able to use all (and hopefully not much) of the $429 million they just stole. Phoenix said on his show Wed, that he expects this to happen at any moment, but at least within the next 30 days. I find this an interesting theory and it does make sense. But I also think that with Iraq, nothing really matters until they actually take action. Still, as far as rumors go - you gotta admit this is a good one!!!!! GOOOOOOOOO RV!!!!

  11. Kurdish forces take over posts in pushback against militants in Iraq Published June 12, 2014FoxNews.com Facebook0 Twitter11 livefyre June 12, 2014: Kurdish security forces deploy outside of the oil-rich city of Kirkuk, 180 miles north of Baghdad, Iraq.AP Kurdish security forces -- concerned with the possibility of more weapons falling into the hands of Al Qaeda-inspired militants in Iraq -- have taken over an air base and posts abandoned by the country’s military in the city of Kirkuk. Kurdish security forces known as peshmerga took over the areas in the ethnically mixed city on Thursday, Brig. Halogard Hikmat, a senior peshmerga official, told the Associated Press. But he denied reports the whole city was under peshmerga control. ADVERTISEMENT ADVERTISEMENT "We decided to move ... because we do not want these places with the weapons inside them to fall into the hands of the insurgents," said Hikmat. Iraqi government officials could not be reached to confirm the account. Meanwhile, Kurdish fighters from the ethnic group's autonomous enclave in the north showed signs of taking a greater role in fighting back against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) – the militant group that has vowed to march toward Baghdad after taking control of two key northern Iraq cities. Their role is a potential point of friction because both Sunni and Shiite Arabs are wary over Kurdish claims on territory outside their enclave. On Wednesday, a force of 20 pickup trucks carrying Islamic State militants attacked peshmerga positions near the town of Sinjar, on a highway between Mosul and the Syrian border. The two sides battled for four hours during the night in a firefight that killed nine militants and wounded four peshmerga, Hikmat said. The ISIS captured parts of Mosul, Iraq’s second largest city, on Tuesday. The takeover has forced around 320,000 Iraqis to flee into the country’s northern Kurdistan region, according to the United Nations Human Rights Council. The region is already home to 230,000 refugees who have fled the bloody conflict in neighboring Syria. Long lines of cars and hundreds of people were spotted at a checkpoint leading to the regional capital of Erbil, the German broadcaster Deutsche Welle reports. A woman who spoke to the station said she had to leave her home because ISIS fighters established a camp in front of it and demanded food. "I was afraid, so we left, but I've been here all day and I have no food, no water. I don't know what to do,” she said. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

  13. Thomas Jefferson’s “Assault Rifle” – The Girardoni Air Rifle By Steve Straub On June 11, 2014 The Girardoni air rifle was 22-shot, magazine-fed, nearly silent .46 caliber repeating rifle adopted in 1780 by the Austrian Army. Thomas Jefferson purchased two of these rifles, which he sent west with Lewis and Clark. Does it have a high-capacity magazine? Got it! Is it capable of firing 22 aimed shots in a minute? Got it! Is it a military weapon? Got it! Was it manufactured during the American Revolutionary War? Got it! While the standard arm of the day was a single-shot flintlock, the Girardoni offered a massive firepower advantage to the men who carried it. The guns (designed by Bartholomäus Girardoni, of Vienna) had a magazine capacity of 22 round balls, which could all be fired within 60 seconds. The balls were .46 caliber, weighing approximately 153 grains, and were propelled at 400-450 feet per second. They were rumored to be silent, but actually had a loud report (although quieter than gunpowder firearms). Watch the video: Next time you hear a gun control supporter say the founding fathers would have excluded assault weapons if the knew of them, show them this!

If your going to sell you will need a buyer My money was spent 10 years ago It doesn't affect me nor will I miss my mortgage if I lose it It was gone ten years ago If ya know its a scam Then you sell it Aren't you scamming too Sooner or later people will have to take responsibility for their actions I bought dinar That's on me now Hopfully we will be taken care of If not Well I can't say its someone else's fault I've lost money in the stock market, who's fault was that But if I wouldn't of sold that stock in its free fall I'd be way ahead today It looked bad so I sold Then it bounced back a couple years later I should of sat on my losses I'd be way ahead But it's too late now

This is Maliki's doing to try and get Marshall law so that he can stay in power and not be arrested. It will not work hence the UN and US are involved. Parliament has already said they will not invoke Marshall law. That man has to go away!

  22. I'm a pretty busy man To be completely blunt, the weekly chats aren't a priority for me. I spend my most valuable time working behind the scenes for the VIP and OSI members. It's really only about every 4 or 5 weeks that I find I have time to devote a full 3+ hours to the weekly chat., instead of the 2 hours I dedicated on a day like today... So yep, it makes sense that 4 out of 5 chats I am rushed and don't get to spend more than a couple hours on the public service that I do for free. Cheers

  24. http://www.westernjournalism.com/traitor-bowe-bergdahl-linked-michael-hastings-murder/ This Journalist Died After Exposing Bowe Bergdahl’s Anti-Americanism Was it an inside job? Share Tweet Email At the time Rolling Stone reporter Michael Hastings was killed under suspicious circumstances, he had recently written a huge exposé on Bowe Bergdahl, revealing that he had deserted his unit and actively sought out the Taliban. Hastings had also revealed Bergdahl’s anti-American sentiments, publishing the emails to his father that so shocked America: “I am ashamed to be an American…The horror that is America is disgusting.” This revelation actually came in July of 2012, when Hastings published a ten-thousand word article on Bergdahl, in which he had traveled to Afghanistan to speak to his former platoon mates, the soldiers violating their gag order to speak to Hastings anonymously. Hastings had also visited Bergdahl’s parents in Idaho, where he presumably obtained the emails. When we saw Obama pawing Bowe Bergdahl’s mother and hugging his father last week in the White House Rose Garden, this wasn’t how he was treating them in 2012. The Obama administration in 2012 had “encouraged” his parents to keep their mouths shut. The father, Robert Bergdahl, had gone on a very public crusade, criticizing the Obama administration for killing Afghanistan civilians, and had even said that one of the Taliban captors of his son had had his child murdered by a CIA drone—mirroring events in the popular Showtime series “Homeland”. This was stated at a very public GOP fundraising event in 2010 hosted by former RNC head Michael Steele. Robert Bergdahl had also just posted a video on YouTube, where he appealed directly to this son’s captors, stating: “…We must also thank those who have cared for our son for almost two years…We have wept that God may show his beneficence, his mercy and that his peace may come upon the people of Pakistan. As-salamu alaykum [peace be upon you].” After this, the Obama administration actively sought to keep the lid on Robert Bergdahl and Michael Hastings’ reporting of Bowe Bergdahl, as secret FBI documents now reveal. A 22-page secret FBI report dated June 11, 2012, obtained by investigative reporter Jason Leopold, shows that both Hastings and former Afghanistan war veteran and co-writer Matt Farwell were under an intense FBI investigation in early 2012. The document is highly redacted; but it appears Hastings and Farwell were under direct FBI surveillance, including when they met with Bowe Bergdahl’s parents in 2012. Keep in mind, at the time of Hastings’ death, the FBI had denied they had ever investigated Hastings, despite Hastings sending out a frantic email hours before his death with the subject line: “FBI Investigation,” stating that he was being investigated. Also included in the body of the email was a reference to a “big story” he was working on. This “big story” turned out not to be about Bergdahl, but an investigation of then-terrorism czar—now CIA head—John Brennan, per Hastings’ widow. After Hastings’ death, all of his notes and documents on Brennan were suppressed—and this “big story” never appeared in Rolling Stone. The Obama administration had also been successful at suppressing the fact that Bowe Bergdahl was essentially a traitor and that his father was not far behind. Bowe Bergdahl’s father, Robert Bergdahl, has been tweeting out a stream of anti-American propaganda for months. Three days before his son was released,Robert Bergdahl called for all Guantanamo Bay prisoners to be released, not just the five Taliban generals Obama ended up trading for a traitor. When social media grabbed the tail of the Bergdahl beast last week—exposing the Bergdahl father and son treachery—the Bowe Bergdahl beast could not be stopped by the Obama spin machine. Read more at http://www.westernjournalism.com/traitor-bowe-bergdahl-linked-michael-hastings-murder/#2hPzMmkFFwIHBLQ6.99 At the time Rolling Stone reporter Michael Hastings was killed under suspicious circumstances, he had recently written a huge exposé on Bowe Bergdahl, revealing that he had deserted his unit and actively sought out the Taliban. When social media grabbed the tail of the Bergdahl beast last week—exposing the Bergdahl father and son treachery—the Bowe Bergdahl beast could not be stopped by the Obama spin machine. And it may be the Brennan beast may also rear its ugly head. According to the book Benghazi: The Definitive Report, John Brennan runs the secret black ops army JSOC (Joint Special Operations Command)—that operates with zero oversight—outside the purview of Congress, the Courts and even the Pentagon—essentially giving Brennan more power than the President of the United States! One of JSOC’s major functions is to make sure weapons are flowing unhindered to rebel groups worldwide that are on the side of the United States—including the al-Qaeda-linked rebels in Syria. At the time of the attack on the Benghazi consulate on September 11, 2012, JSOC and the CIA were housing a huge cache of weapons at the secret CIA base near the consulate, which also later came under attack. Per the book Benghazi: The Definitive Report, this is the reason why Barack Obama could not send help to Americans under attack in Benghazi and later blamed a “protest turned violent” over an obscure internet video. JSOC’s transfer of weapons to the rebels in Syria at the time was illegal, and sending in the cavalry to save Americans would have exposed Brennan’s illegal operation. But funneling weapons to al-Qaeda-linked rebels is a secondary function of Brennan’s JSOC. Their primary mission is to kill and/or capture anyone—worldwide. Whether that includes Americans is a guarded secret. And whether Michael Hastings was someone who needed to be killed because of bad press on Bergdahl, or for some other big story he was working on—i.e., exposing Brennan’s illegal activities—is also an unanswered question. Perhaps when Congress investigates why Obama illegally freed five Taliban generals for a traitor, they can also investigate whether John Brennan had his secret black ops army murder Michael Hastings.

This is propaganda to support the delivery of more F-16 fighter jets. With the way Baghdad has a mean grab on a dime, do we really believe that the CBI is storing massive amounts of Gold in any Bank in the North? I don't think so this is all B/S ...IMO

  29. As more News comes out as to the real situtation that is going on in Iraq, I do think the game board has been kicked over. Okies Ship has taken A major strike to the port side and is listing badly, as the sump pumps try to keep up, as the water pours in. Welp, I think this where this old cowboy rides away too. I have two questions 1.Does anybodyknow where can you go to sell the dinar we hold, minus the spread of course I would like to SELL most of my dinar today.2 Is there still going to be a meet and greet party? I know it will be difficult or maybe imposible for some of our DV family to come without the RV. There are alot of people on here I wanted to meet face to face. Im not sellin all but I will keep 2 or 3 million just in case something good could happen. This just breaks my heart the news coming out of Iraq, Not the fact of my investment going south. As Veteran, all the men and women that were killed and mamed in trying to liberate Iraq, the thought of this just makes me sick at my stomach,it has depressed me. Im sorry for my rant here. It just real hard for me to take three Vietnams in one life time. Seeing those Humvee's on fire yesterday on the news, I had a flash back it was like seeing those hueys pushed over the sides of the aircraft carriers, after the Vietnam War. The other side of this, was there were so many hurting people I was going to help, seeing that dream vanished is the part that hurts the most. After all this being said, there is even greater good news. I know where to look when things look so bleak. So as I finish this rant, Im going to my prayer closet. I will be calling on the Good Lord Jesus to put a hedge around any Americans left in Iraq to protect them and to give their families peace in the fact they will return home safely. These muslims think they are going to win this war, NEWS FLASH they anit. I know there are some who dont believe like I do and thats ok. Nobody forces their or my faith on anyone. I just know who wins because I have read the back of the Book. With that Peace & Love to all. Im going on Vacation!!!

  33. Fox news reported that Kurdish Peshmerga just took back Kirkuk from the ISIS. In addition, Washington just stated it will offer assistance. Us is sending support in security and aid. Iran is also sending. Sorry, no links. Just watching the news Americans being evacuated from Iraqi air base as militants advance Officials say three planeloads of Americans are being evacuated from a major Iraqi air base in Sunni territory north of Baghdad to escape potential threats from a fast-moving insurgency Kurdish forces take over posts in pushback against militants in Iraq Published June 12, 2014FoxNews.com Facebook0 Twitter11 livefyre June 12, 2014: Kurdish security forces deploy outside of the oil-rich city of Kirkuk, 180 miles north of Baghdad, Iraq.AP Kurdish security forces -- concerned with the possibility of more weapons falling into the hands of Al Qaeda-inspired militants in Iraq -- have taken over an air base and posts abandoned by the country’s military in the city of Kirkuk.

  34. The Russians are actually making a move against the petrodollar. It appears that they are quite serious about their de-dollarization strategy. The largest natural gas producer on the planet, Gazprom, has signed agreements with some of their biggest customers to switch payments for natural gas from U.S. dollars to euros. And Gazprom would have never done this without the full approval of the Russian government, because the Russian government holds a majority stake in Gazprom. There hasn’t been a word about this from the big mainstream news networks in the United States, but this is HUGE. What we are witnessing right now is just a turning point, and adds to the “perfect storm” that is starting to brew for the U.S. economy. What you are about to read is absolutely stunning, and yet you have not heard about it from any major U.S. news source. But what Gazprom is now doing has the potential to completely shake up the global financial landscape. This is still developing but just came across the net from cnbc I guess if Obama doesn't want Iraq as a strong ally in the region the void will be filled by Iran Iran deploys elite forces to Iraq to assist govt against rebels: WSJ, citing Iranian sources http://www.cnbc.com/id/101754226 Here's wsj NEXT ARTICLE » Share June 12, 2014 1:05 PM Iran Deploys Forces to Fight al Qaeda-Inspired Militants in Iraq Iranian Revolutionary Guard Forces Helped Iraqi Troops Win Back Control of Most of Tikrit, the Sources Said By FARNAZ FASSIHI BEIRUT, Lebanon—Iran has deployed Revolutionary Guard forces to fight al Qaeda-inspired militants that have overrun a string of Iraqi cities, and it has helped Iraqi troops win back control of most of Tikrit, Iranian security sources said. Two battalions of the Quds Forces, the elite overseas branch of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps that have long operated in Iraq, have come to the aid of the besieged, Shiite-dominated government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, they said. Combined Iraqi-Iranian forces had retaken control across 85% of Tikrit, the birthplace of former dictator Saddam Hussein, according to Iraqi and Iranian security sources. They were helping guard the capital Baghdad and the two cities of Najaf and Karbala, which have been targeted by the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, an al Qaeda offshoot whose lightning offensive has thrown Iraq into its worse turmoil since the sectarian fighting that followed the 2003 U.S. invasion of the country. Tehran has also positioned troops along its border with Iraq and promised to bomb rebel forces if they close within 100 kilometers, or 62 miles, from Iran's border, according to an Iranian army general. In addition, it was considering the transfer to Iraq of Iranian troops in Syria, if the initial deployments fail to turn the tide of battle in favor of Mr. Maliki's government. The Iraqi government has asked the U.S. to carry out airstrikes and to speed up the delivery of promised weapons, which raises the prospect of both the U.S. and Iran lending support to Mr. Maliki against ISIS insurgents, who are seeking to create a caliphate encompassing Iraqi and Syrian territory. General Qasim Sulaimani, the commander of the Quds Forces and one of the region's most powerful military figures, traveled to Baghdad this week to help manage the swelling crisis, said a member of the Revolutionary Guards, or IRGC. Qassimm al-Araji, and Iraqi Shiite lawmaker who heads the Badr Brigade block in the country's parliament, posted a picture of him and Mr. Sulaimani holding hands in a room in Baghdad on his social-networking site with the caption, "Haj Qasem is here," reported Iranian news sites affiliated with the IRGC on Wednesday. "Haj Qasem" is Mr. Sulaimani's nom de guerre. At stake for Iran in the current tumult in Iraq isn't only the survival of an Shiite political ally in Baghdad, but the safety of Karbala and Najaf, which along with Mecca and Medina are considered sacred to Shiites world-wide. An ISIS spokesman, Abu Mohamad al-Adnani, urged the group's Sunni fighters to march toward the "filfth -ridden" Karbala and "the city of polytheism" Najaf, where they would "settle their differences" with Mr. Maliki. That coarsely worded threat further vindicates Iran's view that the fight unfolding in Iraq is an existential sectarian battle between the two rivaling sects of Islam-Sunni and Shiite—and by default a proxy battle between their patrons Saudi Arabia and Iran. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afgham said Wednesday that, "Until now we haven't received any requests for help from Iraq. Iraq's army is certainly capable in handling this." Despite those assuring comments, measures by the Iranian government in the past day indicated that an air of crisis had enveloped Tehran. Iran's army and border guards have been placed under full alert along the country's long border with Iraq, the Iranian media reported. Iran's President Rouhani cut short a religious celebration on Thursday and said he had to attend an emergency meeting of the country's National Security Council about events in Iraq. "We, as the Islamic Republic of Iran, will not tolerate this violence and terrorism…. We will fight and battle violence and extremism and terrorism in the region and the world," he said in a speech. Iran's chief of police, Esmail Ahmadi-Moghaddam said the National Security Council would consider intervening in Iraq to "protect Shiite shrines and cities." ISIS's rapid territorial gains in the past few days appeared to have caught Iranian officials by surprise and opened a debate within the regime over whether Iran should publicly enter the battle, citing the country's strategic interest and ideological responsibility. Iranian officials also privately expressed concern about whether Mr. Maliki was capable of handling the turmoil. "The more insecure and isolated Maliki becomes, the more he will need Iran. The growth of ISIS presents a serious threat to Iran. So it would not be surprising to see the Guards become more involved in Iraq," said Alireza Nader, a senior policy analyst at the Rand Corp. Quds Forces have been active in Iraq since shortly after the U.S.-led invasion in 2003 and have helped create, train and fund Shiite militias that fought U.S. military forces. Their reach and influence extends from Iraq to Lebanon, Syria and the Palestinian territories. The two IRGC battalions moved to Iraq on Wednesday were shifted from the Iranian border provinces of Urumieh and Lorestan. Their task is to help secure the holy Shiite cities of Karbala and Najaf and tighten security around Baghdad, according to IRGC members in Iran. Revolutionary Guards units that serve in Iran's border provinces are the most experienced fighters in guerrilla warfare because of separatist ethnic uprisings in those regions. IRGC commanders dispatched to Syria also often hail from those provinces. Write to Farnaz Fassihi at farnaz.fassihi@wsj.com Farnaz Fassihi CONNECT ©2014 Dow Jones & Company, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Nothing going on there but the gathering of more Al-qaeda troops to just walk in and take over the areas so many of our troops gave their lives to protect the Iraqi people. Thank you Obama for releasing the same people who will be back to their killing ways in exchange for a possible traitor who just vanished from his post for five years. Enough said now.

Me, I don't give a rat's butt on selling 5 million worth of useless toilet paper, but, I am trying to open the eyes of the naïve people who listen to the junk that the pumpers are spewing. After this many years, it gets disgusting. 47. Rayzur - thank's for your input. It was kind of what I was thinking. I just want to make sure I had concurrence from higher *lol*. You also got me thinking about something else, so now I have to ask this At the time this happened, Bergdahl was a Private First Class. If it's true as it was reported in the media - "In the early-morning hours of June 30th, according to soldiers in the unit, Bowe approached his team leader not long after he got off guard duty and asked his superior a simple question: If I were to leave the base, would it cause problems if I took my sensitive equipment?" "Yes," his team leader responded – "if you took your rifle and night-vision goggles, that would cause problems." http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/06/05/1304794/-Bergdahl-One-key-piece-of-evidence Bergdahl left his rifle and night vision devices behind. Means he listened to his Team leader - which means they might have had some knowledge of what he was going to do. If he was talking about this to his Team, his Squad or his Platoon - where were the NCO's that were his leadership? Shouldn't this have thrown up a red flag of some type? Now - maybe it's just me, but I know that Private Joe Snuffy need some mentoring from the NCOs to keep him from making some bone headed decisions. The more I dig into this, the more I wonder why and NCO in his chain of command didn't step in and say "Hey - tell me what's up." Honestly - we had a similar incident when I was in Iraq where we had a privat who was considering sneaking outside the wire to go see a girl. His team leader caught wind of it and put a stop to it. Heck , we actually made sure this soldier had his "battle buddy" with him 24X7 until we were moved to another base. That's what NCO do - at least that's what I've been trained. To me - there seems to be some culpability in that direction to. Maggie - took one of the Negs away from you. Sounds like someone(s) just wanted to shoot the messenger.... Patty - I agree with you. This is one of those where we're just going to have to wait and and see where the dust settles.
