RJG
Ramadan suspends parliament.. MP: Parliament sessions will be held after Eid Politics |Yesterday, 17:42 | Baghdad Today - Baghdad Independent MP Kazem Al-Fayyadh confirmed today, Thursday (February 27, 2025), that there is no intention to hold sessions of the House of Representatives during the month of Ramadan. Al-Fayadh told Baghdad Today, "The House of Representatives will most likely be on holiday during the holy month of Ramadan. There is no intention to hold any session during the holy month of Ramadan, especially in light of the political differences and the suspension of sessions. Therefore, the upcoming sessions will be after the Eid al-Fitr holiday." He explained that "the House of Representatives may hold emergency sessions during the month of Ramadan, if there is an emergency event that calls for holding sessions, but most likely there will be no sessions and most of the representatives will be in their governorates, and this always happens every year and is not a new matter." Earlier, independent MP Ahmed Al-Sharmani confirmed that there was a political intention to keep the Iraqi parliament paralyzed. Al-Sharmani said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "There is a clear intention by political parties to keep the House of Representatives paralyzed and without any real legislative work, as well as to kill the oversight performance, especially that related to questioning officials, due to the partisan and political protection of these officials, despite the existence of many indicators against them." https://baghdadtoday.news/268822-رمضان-يعطل-البرلمان.-نائب-جلسات-مجلس-النواب-ستعقد-بعد-العيد.html 3 1 1
