US has no option but to get rid of ISIS, says Trump

The United States has no other choice but to get rid of ISIS and radical terrorism, the new US President Donald Trump said.

"We've been fighting these wars for longer than any wars we've ever fought. We have not used the real abilities that we have. We've been restrained. We have to get rid of ISIS. Have to get rid of ISIS. We have no choice," Trump told members of the CIA community at its headquarters in Langley.

Speaking against about terrorism, Trump said, "it has to be eradicated."

"This is evil. This is evil," he told the CIA officials.

"I can understand the other side. We can all understand the other side. There can be wars between countries, there can be wars. You can understand what happened. This is something nobody can even understand. This is a level of evil that we haven't seen. You're going to go to it, and you're going to do a phenomenal job," he said.

A new US administration should move to cut losses in Iraq

"President DJT Will Win in Iraq & All of The ME, America will recoup the money spent on the War in Iraq....You can definitely take that to the Bank & Cash In For An RV / RI of The IQD"

January 22 2017 07:54 PM
US President Donald Trump

One question that should be high on the foreign policy agenda of President-elect Donald Trump is whether America should continue the war in Iraq, which now risks having ensnared three US presidents, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

The Iraq War has now cost the taxpayers $2 trillion. Nearly 4,500 Americans have died, the conflict arguably spawned ISIS and some 5,000 American troops are still engaged there. Iraq’s predominantly Shiite government, led by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, still has not gained the support or even the acquiescence of Iraq’s mixed population. It was formerly constituted, under Saddam Hussein, of roughly 20 percent Sunni Arab Muslims, on top of the heap, 17 percent Kurds, also Sunnis, and 60 percent Shiites.

The invasion in 2003 and subsequent occupation put Shiites on top, in principle based on Western democracy’s one-person, one-vote formula, but the Sunnis have never accepted the new order and continue to struggle against it; some back the mostly Sunni Islamic State.

Deadly bombs go off in Baghdad and elsewhere in the country, almost certainly directed by Sunnis against the ruling Shiites. ISIS has held Mosul, Iraq’s second city, since June 2014. An offensive led, in principle, by Abadi government forces  to take back Mosul — accompanied by an odd collection of Iranian-backed Shiite militias, Kurds and US troops — has been underway for three months.

Image1_120172219546322778200.png

The Mosul offensive was originally billed as a military cakewalk, but has turned out to be tough sledding. On Friday the taking by government forces of part of the eastern part of Mosul, a city divided into east and west sections, was portrayed as a significant victory for the government side. Subsequent victory in the Syrian city of Raqqa, the nominal capital of the Islamic State, was portrayed months ago as an easy follow-on battle to win for the US-supported side after Mosul.

The question now is whether the incoming Trump administration will continue to keep the United States on the hook in Iraq. President George W. Bush tried to withdraw from the conflict starting in 2008. President Barack Obama, in spite of passionate promises, was unable to resist Iraqi government and domestic pressure, including by military leaders still in quest of redefined victory, to keep forces and assets committed. US involvement is now coming up to 14 years, way out of proportion to the importance of the country to the United States, or to anybody but Iraqis themselves.

If Trump looks at Iraq as an investment of US assets, including military personnel as well as money, he could sensibly conclude that enough is already far more than enough and pull forces and other assets out, leaving the Iraqis to sort out their situation themselves. As a US investment, Iraq now looks a lot more like today’s Atlantic City than like another California gold rush.

Protests against Trump raise questions over Democrats' deals in the Middle East

"The Real Truth Is Being Revealed"

January 23 2017 01:46 AM
US President Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump

Democrats plan to disrupt Trump’s inauguration

Democrats, who have striven to prove that the electoral college have been manipulated, seemed to wage a new war on the newly established president Donald Trump whose inaugural ceremony coincided with fierce protests in Washington and other states.

More than 65 Democrats in the House of Representatives — one-third of the caucus — have publicly announced they are boycotting the inaugural festivities that took place on Friday, breaking with custom in a reflection of their alarm about Mr. Trump’s assumption of power.

The Democrats antagonist attitude has raised questions over the democrats’ deals in the Middle East region, especially the nuclear deal of Iran which is the first to blame for spreading terrorism in the region via its armed militias and sectarian gangs.

Why the Democrats and their supporters did not stage protests over former US President Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran and the US’s slackening in fighting the Daesh terrorist group in the region.

Trump has harshly criticized the Democrats for their policy and their squandering of the American money and efforts on wars in the Middle East region that has drained the US coffers.

He said US should have confronted Daesh militants when they started operating in Iraq and should have drained their resources by seizing the oil fields of Iraq that have been sold in return for money to spread terrorism and endanger the whole region.

Terrorism should have been confronted in Syria, Trump noted in one of his speeches in which he slammed the former US administration over its strategy in handling the Syrian crisis.

Are Democrats Supporting A Terrorist State?

One should question why Democrats did not protest Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran – mastermind of terrorism in Middle East. Iran Militias in Iraq and Iran (IMIS) has been involved in the war in Syria and Iraq and their crimes have been documented by Iraqi and Syrian civilians who have been tortured on the hands of their barbaric militants that are currently in control of various areas in Iraq and Syria under the pretext of fighting against Daesh or ISIS terrorist group.

Trump’s announcement that he would cancel the nuclear deal with Iran is seen by many of his supporters as a step in what Republicans considered a new turn to “A New American” or “Make American Great Again’ as has been promoted in Trump electoral campaign.

Why should Democrats be worried over an intention of Trump to annul a deal with a terrorist state. What is even worse is that Democrats are rallying against Trump in a defiance to all meanings of democracy that has been cheered by the US over a long time. They have even garnered up efforts to sue Trump’s administration over any measures concerning his business or intended annulment of laws, especially issues including immigration, climate change and health care, that they have viewed as contrary to their policies in the US and abroad.

Media Campaign Against Trump

On the other hand, The New York Times has published an article about Trump’s policy regarding Iran. The article has warned against all scenarios of canceling Iran’s deal. It said “In all these scenarios, the United States will be seen as undermining the deal and provoking Iran to walk away from its obligations. The sympathy of the rest of the world in this case will be with the Iranians.”

It will be Mr. Trump, as president, who will have to deal with these repercussions. Because the international coalition that previously supported sanctions on Iran will not be put back together, America’s economic leverage on Iran will be much weaker, increasing the likelihood that Iran will ramp up its nuclear program, and in turn, increasing the risk of American military action.”

In the meantime, the paper has urged international leaders, the public and major world powers to immediately convey to the incoming administration the importance of preserving the deal.

On the contrary, the paper did not even mention any of the Iranian breaches in the region, its involvement in Syria war, especially the battle by Syrian regime to regain Aleppo with the support of his sectarian militias or its endeavors to control the Iraqi territories via its armed militias, its armament of the Houthi rebels in Yemen as well as its running of several terrorist groups in a bid to hegemonize the whole Middle East region and spread its Shiite thoughts and restore the Persian Empire.

New York Times and CNN have been known for their bias to Democrats candidate Hillarious Clinton all over the US presidential campaign. All their reporting during the presidential campaign has been tilting in favor of Hillarious and opinion polls have also indicated a victory of Hillarious over its Republican rival.

In another biased reporting by the New York Times, the paper said that President Trump used his first full day in office on Saturday to unleash a remarkably bitter attack on the biased news media, claiming that he has falsely accused journalists of investing a rift between him and intelligence agencies and deliberately understating the size of his inauguration crown. Meanwhile, Trump in his visit to the CIA intended to showcase his support for the intelligence community which he pledged to support as many as 400 intelligence workers and told them “I am with y 1,000%”.

Both cities are currently in the process of being liberated by pro-government forces.

Local sources have not yet verified whether the airstrikes were by the Iraqi government or the US-led coalition.

The authenticity of these reports could not be independently verified by Al-Masdar News at this time.
