Hopefully something happens...the poor Iraqis are going to be poorer with property tax hike.  Now, why does it take so long to vote on 2017 budget...they passed second reading about two weeks ago.

So does the 2016 budget that is supposed to go into effect next week make any difference?

Saleh warns of "bankruptcy" and calls for the pension fund to ensure sustainability plan funding

Iraqi Council of Representatives included a vote on the draft general budget of the Federal Republic of Iraq for fiscal year 2017 on Monday session agenda .

And a statement of the presidium of the parliament said that " the meeting agenda of business on Monday also includes voting in principle to the first draft amendment to the law of the amnesty law No. (27) for the year 2016 .

The statement added that " The Council also will vote on the candidates of the investigative committee regarding the review of all leases and investment of the marshes and waters ."

And will witness the meeting , " a report of the Legal Committee on the work of the election commission and the number of board members and district and provincial elections and the elections , the House of Representatives and the report and discuss the draft Iraqi Commission for the adoption of a law, and the continuing debate on the draft Commercial Agency Regulatory Act, and report and discuss the proposed law to the board of Media and Communications ."

The House of Representatives had voted at its meeting on Saturday, in the form of the popular crowd Act, which the Council approved the law by a majority of the crowd 208 MPs from different blocs, a move resented by Sunni leaders .

House of Representatives held, its regular, on Monday, to vote and the reading of a number of draft laws.

It includes tomorrow 's meeting agenda "vote on the draft Arms Act, and vote on the draft general budget of the Federal Republic of Iraq for the fiscal year 2017 Act, voting in principle to the draft amendment law of the first to the Amnesty Law No. 27 of 2016". It 
also includes "vote on a resolution particularly the inclusion of the Syrian nationalism in the national information of the card form, and vote on the candidates of the investigative committee regarding the review of all leases and investment marshes and water features. " ,

Could there be a surprise to some of the laws to be voted on, I'm thinking yes. The timing of this vote is what's I've been watching the last couple of weeks. I like it.....

Parliamentary Legal: Holiday legislative term will not begin until after the adoption of the budget

{Baghdad} Euphrates News confirmed the legal committee member of the parliamentary Salim Chawki that the next legislative term holiday will start only after the adoption of the budget.

Said Shawki told {Euphrates News} Monday, that "this chapter is at its end, which prevents its end on 01.01.2017 is the issue of the budget where it is not permitted to go to the legislative term holiday until after the adoption of the budget." 
He said it "will not be there important laws include the agenda of the meeting, but will be carried over to the next legislative season because of the proximity of legislative recess.

10 years, you are spot on !! I went back to the news starting in 2016 and these folks do nothing but talk and procrastinate. This is what will happen: they MAY vote the budget on December 1st, but historically they will play mind games with each other, finally vote and then head for the hills (because they have worked so hard and those other important laws, well they're not so important with a 30-day break in front of them). Then they will set a mid January return of parliament and talk about all the BIG laws needing attention that they will tackle (ie: they said the HCL was a priority LAST January). And when they return it will be the same old same old. Barely make a quorum and vote on laws governing camel parking and more holidays. This is their reality. Pathetic. Can't wait till a new rate comes and I don't need to have anything more to do with Iraq. I'm not negative, just realistic.
