Energy independent, what about breaking the future markets and oil going negative. This Bozo doesn’t know his arm from his a$$hole. News flash - the forex market works without the USD. Sure, the Dollar is King, but that takes cooperation. Dominance and Supremacy aren’t the Ultimate Solution. His ideas are not timeless. Trump is fractured from reality, and ungrounded individual; just one mortal man, a greedy one at that.

you and kermit have one thing in common! both muppets!  Trump is 100% correct

Stalled nuclear deal casts shadow on Iran's currency and gold prices

Baghdad - people

The Iranian newspaper, "Satara Sobh", said, on Saturday, that the nuclear agreement is moribund and that the possibility of reviving it has become minimal, which negatively affected the prices of the dollar and gold in Iran, where the price of the dollar today reached 28 thousand tomans, and in its analysis of the return of the high prices of gold and the dollar in Iran .

The newspaper cited the words of the former deputy head of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Badram Soltani, who said that "the failure to reach a result in the Vienna negotiations robbed Iran of oil revenues estimated at 30 billion dollars during the past ten months."

And the price of one dollar in the Iranian market is about 28 thousand Iranian tomans, and Iranian economic circles indicated that one of the reasons for the rise in the price of the dollar in recent times is that it is affected by the high inflation that the country is experiencing, whose effects have become evident in all sectors, including the prices of hard currencies and gold.

I believe that the actions of former President Trump on January 6th was an insurrection and NOT normal political activity. Trump wether it was his concessions or subconscious personality was attempting a coup.

So, you still believe in the coup theory huh ametad, when as the 14,000 hours of tape is slowly unraveled, it shows involvement by the FBI and possibly other Gov entities. You know kind of like the Governor Whitmer kidnapping saga, blamed on right wing extremists only to find out the majority of the perps were stage government hacks from our stellar FBI and 2 of the 4 "bad guys" were acquitted already. You may think you are moderate, but you sure come down on the side of the mentally ill left quite often. Would be wise to remember, if you lay with dogs you're gonna get fleas. Well for a coup to work it would have to have deeply imbedded military and governmental support. You know kinda like Uranium One, too big to fail; a true presentation of corruption that is not talked about because everyone is involved. It’s also kinda like how it’s not really common knowledge how the Turkish President Erdogan was able to assume the force of the military power during a coup attempt and somehow walked away more powerful. I don’t know how it all works, I just see some things that don’t really add up, and I don’t want to live through a civil war to restructure The Unites States of America. I think the USA is a good governmental structure and would like it to peacefully continue.

Iran's new ambassador to Iraq... a Revolutionary Guards officer on the sanctions list

He will succeed Masjedi, who was considered an advisor to former Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani

Washington - Bandar Al-Doshi

Published in:Last updated:

On Monday, Iranian regime media announced that its new ambassador to Iraq is Muhammad Kazem al-Sadiq, a commander in the Revolutionary Guards and who is on the US terrorist list, and he will succeed the Iranian ambassador to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi.

The BBC's Kayan Sharifi tweeted on Monday: "Iran has appointed Muhammad Kazem Al-Sadiq as its new ambassador to Iraq. He added that Al-Sadiq is an advisor to the outgoing ambassador, Iraj Masjedi, a former commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards who has been subject to US sanctions since October 2020." .

The US government has designated the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a foreign terrorist organization because it has carried out the killings of more than 600 US military personnel, according to US defense officials.

And the "Kurdistan 24" network reported on Monday that the appointment of Al-Sadiq as a new ambassador to Iraq is imminent.

Masjedi has been the Iranian regime's ambassador to Iraq since 2017. He was considered an advisor to the former Iranian Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated in a US drone strike in Baghdad in January 2020.

The level of optimism about reaching a nuclear agreement between Tehran and the “5 + 1” group was high. For weeks and more, political and media leaks intensified, including what was attributed to parties directly participating in the Vienna nuclear talks, including what was publicly stated by responsible international bodies, that Those gathered in the Austrian capital for more than a year are close to declaring a nuclear agreement reached, as optimism reached to say that the negotiating teams had put the final touches on the draft agreement, awaiting the decision to officially announce it, but it is still reprehensible that the announcement is still delayed.

Indeed, for weeks, the nuclear agreement has been facing severe obstacles that are difficult to remove, or even circumvent, and which are so intractable that they may return the negotiations to the zero point, and most likely they have turned into tentative points that represent the essence of the agreement. The Iranian negotiating efforts focused on persuading Iran to separate the “Revolutionary Guard” and “Quds Force,” so that the Guard would be removed from the list of terrorist organizations in exchange for keeping the “Quds Force” on the list, given that this settlement relieves external and internal pressures that are considered “ The Quds Force is an Iranian foreign arm that threatens regional stability and security.Another approach was based on the principle of separating the list of terrorism and economic sanctions, whereby the guards are kept on the first and raised from the second. However, these efforts failed after Tehran stuck to its principled position and dealt with the dilemma of the "Revolutionary Guard" as a core issue, where acceptance cannot be accepted. With half-solutions, most of the formulas that were offered to break this knot were rejected, and according to Iranian official bodies, if Tehran had accepted to waive its red lines, it would have reached the agreement months ago.

What is clear is that the official Iranian statements confirm the dwindling level of hope for solving the guard’s main dilemma and other issues that Tehran says that Washington wants to add to the terms of the 2015 agreement. We know whether we will reach an agreement or not, because the United States has not yet shown the will to do so.” Representatives in the Iranian Consultative Assembly (Parliament) set conditions for reviving the nuclear agreement that are linked to legislative guarantees from the US Congress that no US administration will withdraw from the agreement again.

Practically speaking, the issue of the Revolutionary Guards is no longer an Iranian problem only, as it has become a red line for most parties in Washington, especially after it has turned into an internal affair that will be directly reflected in the two-party conflict in the midterm congressional elections next November. The entry of former presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump into the electoral competition further complicated the situation, especially as the Republicans’ progress in the polls pushes the Biden administration and the Obama movement in the Democratic Party to take into account the electoral calculations, in addition to the rise of the Trump movement in the Republican Party that completely rejects the nuclear agreement. He directs the issue of the Revolutionary Guards directly, which forces the White House administration to reduce its negotiating "fluidity", which leads to the belief that the nuclear agreement has been postponed until after the US legislative elections, when its provisions will be reformulated according to the terms of the winner of the elections.

Therefore, it is not excluded that the two negotiating parties (Iranian and American) will agree on the principle of the possibility of postponing the announcement of the nuclear agreement until after the US legislative elections, especially since what Iran demands in the final draft (the “Revolutionary Guard” issue) does not suit the Democratic Party electorally, and that What Iran insists on ensuring from the Biden administration (not to withdraw) can only be agreed upon after knowing the new distribution of power within Congress, so it can be said that the two parties are interested in delaying the announcement of the agreement.

Newspapers: The Iranian nuclear agreement has entered a dark tunnel, and the reason lies in the Revolutionary Guards

Baghdad - people

The newspaper, "Watan Emrouz", which is close to the Revolutionary Guards, said in a report that the United States of America is trying to reach an agreement that would enable it to control Iran's nuclear program and at the same time preserve the form and substance of sanctions, adding: "It also seeks to make this agreement a basis for following up on other files." with Iran.

The newspaper pointed out that "the current US President Joe Biden has often criticized the approach of his predecessor Trump in dealing with Iran, but Biden has practically adopted the same policy of maximum pressure to put pressure on Tehran in the Vienna negotiations and force it to make concessions at the dialogue table."

The newspaper stated, "The nuclear agreement, and because of America's non-acceptance of Iran's red lines, has become in an unclear state, and Washington is trying to portray Tehran as the party obstructing the course of negotiations."

"Echoes of Reforms": Has the countdown to the collapse of the nuclear agreement begun?

"Sadai Islahat" newspaper commented on the nuclear negotiations and asked, "Has the countdown to the collapse of the Vienna negotiations begun?" It quoted the analysis of Seyed Jalal Sadatian, a former Iranian diplomat, who stated that the main dispute between Tehran and Washington at this stage is the issue of delisting the Guards. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps is on the list of terrorist organizations, as Tehran insists that Washington take this step before returning to the nuclear agreement.

Sadatian criticized the weakness of Iran's media management over its nuclear file and the subject of negotiations, explaining that the United States of America took advantage of this weakness in media coverage and the lack of media transparency, and Washington has been promoting its narrative and exporting it to world public opinion.

The writer referred to the European-American rapprochement after the Ukrainian crisis, and said that in the event of not reaching an agreement with Iran, the United States of America will return to the proposal to activate the trigger mechanism in coordination with European countries, which means the return of the Iranian file to the Security Council and the validity of 6 resolutions previously issued by the Council Security after the 2015 nuclear deal

Analysts: Three reasons other than the Revolutionary Guards halted the Iranian nuclear agreement with the West

Baghdad - people

Political analysts from inside Iran stated that other issues more important than the issue of the Revolutionary Guards, which the American and Iranian sides still did not agree on, caused the Iranian nuclear agreement with the West to reach the ground zero, while other fundamentalists stressed that resolving the issue of the Guards is a condition before any agreement is launched.

The political analyst, Salah al-Din Harsani, said in his article in the newspaper "Jahan Sanat", followed by "Nass" (April 20, 2022), that the issue of removing the Revolutionary Guards from the list of terrorist organizations is part of the outstanding contentious issues between Tehran and Washington, but he also believes that There are other issues more important than the issue of the Revolutionary Guards, on which the American and Iranian sides still did not agree.

The writer said that the opposition of some representatives in the US Senate, the hostility of Iranian parliamentarians to the nuclear agreement, in addition to the issue of the Revolutionary Guards, as well as Iran's non-compliance with some nuclear commitments, is the reason for the nuclear agreement to reach ground zero.

In the same context, the fundamentalist political activist, Izzatullah Yousefian Mulla, told the Independent newspaper that the main problem facing Iran’s nuclear negotiations is the issue of the Revolutionary Guards and the sanctions imposed on them, pointing out that as long as the issue of the Revolutionary Guards is not resolved, we will not witness any change or positive results. in the course of the nuclear negotiations.

Yousefian Mulla referred to the statements of Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, who said a few days ago that it is necessary to resolve all issues, otherwise no agreement will happen, believing that Abdollahian's statements hint at the issue of the Revolutionary Guards, and that it is a pivotal issue in the negotiations that must be resolved.

An American report excludes the removal of the Revolutionary Guards from the list of terrorism as part of the Iranian nuclear negotiations

Baghdad - people

A US official familiar with the Vienna talks said that given Iran's unwillingness to downplay US security concerns, as well as pressure from Democrats and Republicans, it is highly unlikely that the Biden government would remove Iran's Revolutionary Guards from its terror list as part of the nuclear deal negotiations.

This official added in an interview with Politico, "The US position was that as long as Iran does not take steps to address US concerns about issues outside the nuclear agreement, Washington will not remove the Iranian Revolutionary Guard from the list of terrorist organizations, because this issue goes beyond the nuclear agreement." .

"Especially with the increasing threats of the Revolutionary Guards against American citizens," he said, "it seems unlikely that the Biden government will want to remove the Iranian Revolutionary Guards from the list of terrorist organizations in the context of talks to revive the nuclear deal."

A Western official who was present at the Vienna talks added to Politico: "I can say that the people who worked hard in these negotiations are desperate, because this good agreement, which benefits everyone, has been held hostage by issues that have nothing to do with the nuclear issue."

On the other hand, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said: "The Revolutionary Guards can only be removed from the list of terrorist organizations if Iran takes the necessary measures to do so."

He added, "In the event that the IRGC is removed from the list of terrorist organizations under any circumstances, it can be returned to the list, depending on Iran's actions."

On Wednesday, Israeli media quoted a number of officials and diplomats that the United States is closer than ever to admitting the failure of the nuclear deal talks and is preparing to announce the failure of the talks.

Axios also reported on Monday that the Biden government has begun discussing the scenario of not reviving the nuclear deal.

Vienna talks to revive the nuclear deal have been stalled since March 11, and a new date for the next round has not been announced.

Meanwhile, Iran's demand to remove the Revolutionary Guards from the list of terrorist organizations was considered the most important obstacle to reaching an agreement.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Abdollahian announced the continuation of diplomacy regarding the Iranian nuclear agreement, despite the fact that the commissioners entered their third month.

And the American Al-Monitor website quoted Abdullahian as saying that the Americans are clear about Iran's red lines. The Iranian minister did not clarify those red lines, indicating that the sanctions targeting the Iranian Revolutionary Guards slowed down the talks.

Perhaps I’ve still got some waking up to. Just trying to enjoy the days I have here one at a time…as life is what happens as you plan what to do next. Damn, I really don’t want to fight in a civil war. When everything falls apart around me I won’t have any other choice. Is what it is, some things are worth protecting. More good days than bad days, winning :)

The US Senate votes by a majority to keep the Revolutionary Guards on the "terror list"

Baghdad - people

A large majority in the US Senate voted in favor of a bill proposed by Republican Senator James Lankford, which stipulates that the Revolutionary Guards should remain on the list of "terrorist organizations".

The bill, which the Senate passed with 66 in favor and 23 against, calls on the Biden administration to keep the Revolutionary Guards on the State Department's list of terrorist organizations if the United States returns to the nuclear deal.

According to the bill, any agreement reached with Iran must take into account the three main concerns of the US Senate.

These three include, "the need to stop Iran's sabotage and destabilizing actions in the region, the continuation of US sanctions against the Revolutionary Guards, and the continuation of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards on the list of terrorist organizations."

Earlier on Wednesday, US senators approved a motion by Republican Senator Ted Cruz to impose terrorism-related sanctions on the Central Bank of Iran by 86 votes to 12 against.

The new Senate plan calls for identifying key areas of diplomatic, energy, infrastructure, banking, economic, military, and space cooperation between Iran and some countries so that the United States can use terrorism-related sanctions against the Central Bank and the Revolutionary Guards to reduce such cooperation.

It is noteworthy that Republican lawmakers in Congress have so far written several letters expressing their opposition to Biden's possible move to remove the Revolutionary Guards from the list of terrorist organizations, in the context of reviving the nuclear agreement.

The representatives stressed that the Revolutionary Guards are still involved in terrorist activities and are even trying to assassinate American officials on American soil, and urged Biden not to remove the Revolutionary Guards from the list of terrorist organizations.

Meanwhile, State Department spokesman Ned Price said at a press conference on Wednesday that the United States is preparing for two scenarios: the failure and success of the Vienna talks.

On the other hand, a senior Israeli official told Axios that Israeli and US officials are discussing ways to put more pressure on Iran if the nuclear deal is not revived.

Today, Saturday, press sources revealed that the European Union is making a last attempt to save the Iran nuclear deal.

The Financial Times reported that the European Union's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, told the newspaper that he was seeking a "compromise" to end the crisis, which threatens to undermine more than a year of European diplomatic efforts to reach an agreement.

The newspaper's report indicated, "Borrell is studying a scenario in which the name of the Revolutionary Guards will be removed from the list of terrorist organizations, provided that entities affiliated with it remain on the list."

Borrell said he wanted chief European negotiator Enrique Mora to go to Tehran to discuss the matter, but added that Iran was very reluctant, describing the diplomatic effort as the "last bullet."

"The negotiators will not give Iran a deadline," the newspaper's report, quoting Borrell, said.

The talks have been suspended since March, mainly due to Iran's insistence that Washington remove the Iranian Revolutionary Guard from the list of foreign terrorist organizations.

Under the 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, Iran agreed to reduce its nuclear program in return for the lifting of economic sanctions imposed on it.

We affirm our support for the restoration and full implementation of the JCPOA. The solution remains Diplomacy is the best way to curb Iran's nuclear program."

 Tehran: Muhammad Salih Sedqian

Iran said that it had discussed with the European Commissioner in the Vienna nuclear negotiations several scenarios to get out of the stagnation affecting these negotiations and reach an agreement through which the nuclear agreement signed in 2015 would be revived.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said in his press briefing on Monday: The discussions of European Commissioner Eric Mora, who visited Tehran last week, were very serious and fruitful, and were accompanied by special initiatives on the part of Iran.
And he saw an opportunity for US President Joe Biden to deal positively with Iranian perceptions if he wanted to behave differently from the behavior of his predecessor, President Trump.
Khatibzadeh accused the Zionist entity of working to abort the positive moves made by the international community to revive the nuclear agreement. He believed that his country did not ask for anything more than its rights and did not demand what was not mentioned in the nuclear agreement
and UN Resolution 2231.
Mora had visited Tehran last week and held several meetings with Iran's chief negotiator Ali Bagheri, where they discussed various scenarios to reach an agreement, while Mora met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian.
Khatibzadeh described Russia's role in the Vienna talks as constructive. He said: The war in Ukraine and the dispute with the West could have an impact on Moscow's role in the negotiations.
On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian arrived in Abu Dhabi yesterday to offer his condolences on the passing of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in addition to his meeting with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and congratulating him on his election as President of the United Arab Emirates.
The visit is the first of its kind in five years and is an important step in the hydration of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Shafaq News/ The Israeli newspaper "Jerusalem Post" considered that easing sanctions on Iran through the ongoing nuclear negotiations with it is a "double-edged sword" and it must be looked at carefully based on its costs and the positives it achieves in the future.

In a report written by the American researcher Gabriel Toll, in English and translated by Shafak News Agency, the Israeli newspaper stated that in light of the continuation of negotiations between Iran and the West over its nuclear program, opponents of the agreement expressed their concern about the huge financial resources that Tehran could acquire in exchange for limited concessions, describing the easing The potential for sanctions is a "double-edged sword and must be carefully considered in accordance with the costs and rewards associated with any future agreement."

The Israeli report indicated that any amount of sanctions relief against Iran in return for reducing its nuclear program would allow it to "strengthen the strength of its proxy organizations and consolidate its evil networks around the world," according to its description.

He added that among the most prominent of these networks are located in and around Israel, and Iran provides them annually, 700 million dollars, specifically Hezbollah in Lebanon, in addition to 100 million dollars for terrorist groups in Gaza. As for Syria, the Iranian military support ranged between 20 and 30 billion dollars so far.

As for Iraq, according to the report, "Iran continues to support large Shiite militias, while supporting the Houthis in Yemen with tens of millions of dollars, including transfers of advanced weapons such as ballistic missiles and drone technology."

In sum, the Israeli report says, that Iran provides billions of dollars annually in military and financial support to its network of proxy organizations in the Middle East, adding that Iranian activity in Africa does not receive enough attention, despite the fact that Africa is a “strategic continent” for the Iranians, where it reaches Sub-Saharan Africa has a population of 1.1 billion, and Iran provides a huge market for its goods.

The Horn of Africa region is also of strategic importance to Iranian ambitions in the Arabian Peninsula, given its proximity to Yemen and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, while Iranian networks in Somalia help facilitate the arrival of arms shipments to the Houthis in Yemen, noting also that Iran has provided support to the movement. Somali youth, allied with al-Qaeda.

And after the report talked about a “failed plot” by Iran in South Africa in an attempt to assassinate the American diplomat in Pretoria, “Lana Marx,” months after the assassination of the Iranian Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, it was considered that this shows the extent of Iran’s penetration of networks in Africa, but it is not the only evidence. On Iran’s aggressive operations on the continent, referring to other incidents in Nigeria, where in 2013 an attempt to target US and Israeli sites was thwarted, Morocco cut diplomatic relations with Tehran after it was accused of supporting the Polisario Front in 2018, and the arrest of an Iranian in Kenya who was planning attacks against Israeli targets.

In total, the report talked about the detection of Iranian networks throughout the continent, including, in the Central African Republic, Chad, Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Nigeria, Niger, Eritrea, Gambia, Sudan, South Sudan and South Africa.

In this context, the report indicated that Iranian networks such as these in Africa are likely to expand throughout the Middle East, if the Iranian government, which suffers from financial constraints, reaches the final touches on a nuclear agreement with the West.

She concluded that "the last thing the United States, Israel and the world want is for Iran to be able to possess the capacity and enjoy fewer restrictions with more money, while the Iranian economy suffers from a deteriorating state, as recent demonstrations erupted in protest against the loss of food support throughout the country, and launched Calls for a change of government in Iran.

And after considering that Tehran is not in a position to continue managing the high costs associated with supporting its proxy groups and secret networks around the world, he made it clear that if Iran suddenly gets billions of dollars in the framework of sanctions relief, it will become easier for it to strengthen its support for proxy organizations, which implicates it Some are directly involved in attacks against the United States and its regional allies.

However, the report concluded with the conclusion that "there is no clear path to progress, nor is there an easy way to bring Iran back to the square, explaining that the West, while seeking to solve one of the issues, may exacerbate the other issues, as "each path could cause heavy costs." and an uncertain future.

The report concluded by noting that “supporters of sanctions relief, and those opposed to it, have the same ultimate goal, which is a calm Iran and a stable Middle East, and in this context, it is better for these two parties to weigh the pros and cons carefully, before they take any irreversible decisions about her".

Grossi is expected to present his report on this matter to the Agency's Board of Governors before a quarterly meeting that begins on June 6.

He said during a discussion session at the World Economic Forum in Davos, that he "hopes that the time between now and the date of submitting the report will be used in a good way."

On May 18, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, confirmed that his country will continue to enrich nuclear fuel by 60%, noting that "production and enrichment operations are carried out by relying on local energies."
