yota691
Iraqi Prime Minister: We have overcome the crisis of the referendum Kurdistan ... The Turks deal with the Kurdish file was characterized by duality Jan 23, 2018 Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi Baghdad: Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al - Abadi said that his government succeeded in overcoming the crisis of the referendum in the Kurdistan region, and accused the Turks that they were dealing with the Kurdish file duality. "His government succeeded in overcoming the crisis of the referendum on secession without bloodshed and is working today to solve all the outstanding problems with the region, including problems since the 1990s," Abadi said during a meeting with a Kuwaiti media delegation. He said that the Turks were dealing with the duality with the Kurdish file: "They supported the Kurds of Iraq and deal with them outside the framework of the federal government while denying the rights of the Turkish Kurds, until the issue of the referendum and felt the threat changed the view of the Turks towards rapprochement with Baghdad. Abadi pointed out that "this does not mean a negative attitude of his government against the Iraqi Kurds, but they are citizens in their country have citizenship rights and duties." He added that the Turks have great fears of the PKK in northern Iraq, stressing that his country "does not support this organization and do not want to take from Iraqi territory as a base for the attack on Turkey." Kuwait is hosting a conference on the reconstruction of Iraq from February 12 to 14 with the participation of a number of donor countries and international and regional organizations. It will be chaired by five parties - the European Union, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Nations and the World Bank. (AFP) 1

yota691
Advisor to Khamenei: We prevented the independence of Kurdistan and the fall of Damascus, Baghdad and Qatar and led us in the process of Afrin He said to them why the Russians could not do anything in the region ... Narin Kobani 23/01/2018 - 23:27 Ali Akbar Velayati, an adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, said that without Iranian aid, "the Syrian government would have fallen in a few weeks and was currently being promoted in Baghdad." Adding: "If we did not defend outside the border, Israeli forces would now be on the borders of the provinces of Kurdistan and Western Azerbaijan." Apparently referring to Iran's opposition to the independence referendum in the Kurdistan Region and its role in the October 16 events. The Iranian officials were surprised during the period leading up to the referendum describe the independence of Kurdistan by the establishment of Israel again in the region. He continued by saying that Iran fought in Iraq and Syria to prevent the transfer of the theory of partition from these countries to it, and to prevent the "secession" of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which he said it would become "the focus of the presence of Zionist forces on the borders of our country," he said. Velayati said Tehran's support for Iraq, Syria and Lebanon "was a pre-treatment precaution," he said. The United States and its allies in the region, denied the role of Iran in the Turkish military operation in Afrin, stressing that without his country fell to Damascus, Baghdad and Qatar, and the Russians were able to do something. Velayati said the settlement of the conflict between the Palestinians and the Israelis was "over and over." He also referred to the Syrian issue, saying that without Iranian aid, "the Syrian government would have fallen in a few weeks and was currently being promoted in Baghdad." "The United States and the West are seeking to change the borders of the states and create a great Middle East that extends to the Russian and Chinese borders," said Velayati, quoted by the conservative Iranian newspaper Kayhan in a speech at the forum. Accusing the United States of seeking to divide Syria, He also accused Britain of trying to incite against Iran as the United States, describing them as colonial powers. He also said that in recent years "the name of the region has changed from the Middle East to West Asia", in what he called "the struggle against colonialism". "The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) says that what is happening in the east of the Euphrates and in the Syrian city of Afrin came in coordination between Russia and America, while the Kurdish Democratic Union Party says that The attack was coordinated by Iran and Turkey, but it must be emphasized that Iran is following the path of resistance, and therefore without Iran, the Russians would have been able to do nothing in the region. " The official Iranian Mehr news agency reported that a representative of Hamas told him that their hope was "focused on Iran and the resistance line, and that it thanks Iran for taking the Qatari side in its conflict with Saudi Arabia and preventing the collapse of Qatar" Its expression. 1
Tuck
On 1/16/2018 at 9:00 PM, Rochester said: This is the best news I have ever heard on this site....ever. Rex Tillerson is getting involved. Rex Tillerson is the most capable, most experienced Secretary of State, in our history.....especially on oil. He has forgotten more about oil, than the last 3 Secretaries of State knew, combined. If anyone can get this done, it's Rex. He ran a big oil company, and he knows all the big players in the world of oil, worldwide. You simply will not be able to find a more capable and qualified human being on this planet, to negotiate an oil deal between the Kurds and the Iraqi Government. If Rex can't do it, then it can't be done. But believe me, Rex can and will, do this. This means we are very, very close to success. Once this agreement is done, as Adam keeps saying, once the oil law is done, the RV is right around the corner. And the Kurds and the Iraqi government is key to a new oil law. Once the Kurds and Iraqi government come to an agreement, the new oil law is a slam dunk, and the RV just days away. This is like having LeBron James in his prime with an open court and nothing between him and the basket. What are the odds he can put up 2 points? Pretty damn good, I'd say.....This is the happiest I've been on this dinar, in ten years....and for very good reason. If you are not thrilled at this news, you don't have any ability to judge character and experience and capability. On oil negotiations...Rex is King. Agreed, Rochester, - eloquently stated, swift and sure, Tillerson is, in my opinion.

In a statement today, Basniz received a copy of it, that pleased Barzani adviser to the Security Council of the Kurdistan Region, met on Wednesday with Australian Ambassador to Iraq Christopher Lakman. During the meeting, the Australian ambassador confirmed his country's support for the Kurdistan Region is strong and united, and the constitutional rights of the region. The Englishman
Barzani, Abadi meet in Switzerland By Rudaw 2 hours ago Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, KRG Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani and Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani talking in Davos, Switzerland on Wednesday. Photo: KRG DAVOS, Switzerland – KRG Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani and Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi met on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday. “In a short meeting… the latest trends of discussions between KRG and Iraqi federal government committees were discussed, and [both sides] stressed the continuation of the work of the committees to resolve issues. Both sides expressed their commitment to dialogue and the resolution of issues on the basis of the Iraqi constitution,” read a statement from the KRG. They also touched on the issue of oil. Managing oil, and its revenues, is a recurring problem between Erbil and Baghdad. The central government stopped sending funds to the KRG when Kurdish leaders proposed exporting oil independently. The two sides “decided that the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and KRG Ministry of Natural Resources will hold a special meeting on how to export oil that has been suspended for a while and reach an agreement [on the issue],” the KRG’s statement read. As the two governments have resumed relations and begun the difficult process of resolving their issues, Baghdad wants to exert federal control over oil and Erbil wants financial guarantees if it agrees to send oil revenue to central coffers. How to handle the rich oil reserves in the disputed province of Kirkuk, that were suspended after Iraq took control of the province, is also a sticking point. As Iraq is looking to rebuild its economy and infrastructure after the war with ISIS, OPEC has seen a "renewed vigor" reconstructing the oil and gas sector under Abadi’s government, OPEC Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo told Rudaw’s Hemin Lihony in Davos. "We in OPEC are very proud of [that]," he added. Responding to a question about the KRG's contribution to Iraq's success, Barkindo said "Iraq is the dutiful, rightful representative in OPEC." Iraq, as a founder and the birthplace of OPEC and currently its second-largest producer, was described by Barkindo as a "very important" member. OPEC has seen a “gradual but steady rebalancing of the market” after concerted efforts from member states to address oversupply. "We are not yet declaring victory,” he said, explaining that they do not have a price goal. "Our prime objective remains assisting the market to bring it back to balance, which has eluded us for the past several years and we are confident, satisfied that we are on cause." The Davos forum brings together world, business, and industry leaders, making it a good opportunity to look at the issue of equality, Anne Mitaru, policy and campaigns manager of Oxfam in Erbil, told Rudaw English this week. “A lot of those decisions between political heavyweights, economic heavyweights, and other heavyweights, changes how people live, how much they have access to food, how much they have access to water, how much they pay for clothes and other things,” she said, noting that “a lot of power resides with the people who go to Davos.” These power players must consider not just one country, she asserted, but ensure benefits from the meeting are shared with people around the world. Earlier in the day, Barzani met with Jordanian King Abdullah and Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan. Updated at 11:45 pm 1
