Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Regional Government, announced on Thursday, that the Central Bank sent 250 billion dinars to its branch in Erbil.
The ministry said in a press statement,
“The Central Bank sent 250 billion dinars to its branch in the Kurdistan region,” asserting that “this branch is not linked to Kurdistan, and carries out its work under the guidance of the Central Bank of Iraq.”
She added that “we did not receive any money from Baghdad for the distribution of salaries,” noting that “the committee formed between Baghdad and Erbil continues to audit the names of employees of the Kurdistan Region, except the Ministries of Peshmerga and the Interior in the region.”
