I definitely lean towards the later...an ill-timed comment at the wrong moment. This is definitely in character for DJT...sometimes I wish he could stop and think before speaking. My wife tells me this all the time..."Stop and think about what you are going to say before just saying something to hear yourself speak." Maybe Melania should give Donald some of this same advise.

In the 70s, there was a bumper sticker stating, “Start Brain Before Engaging Mouth”. Hmmmmm........................ Seems pretty concise and words to live by.......................... So, looks like DJT is having lots of fun with the media. My opinion is the media frenzy is well worth it to further expose their ludicrous nature. Maybe not the most appropriate way to do it but effective none the less. Picking fights with the media now may pay off for mid term and the next Presidential Election Provided there is an Effective Master Plan.

Hello, Tex.    What you say may very well be the case.....though the positive thing for all of the United States and humanity is that slavery died with the defeat of the South.  As to this thread itself, I simply believe when Trump is honoring heroes, he should focus on just that and nothing else.....they earned that through their sacrifice and should be respected without all the "trump noise" that Donald seems to bring to every situation in front of cameras.  Being PC in this case would have been the right thing for Trump to do.
