Thank You, TigerGorZow, for this and all the other articles you bring over!

When I first read the article, the first thought that came to mind was, "Why aren't the natives all restless and up in arms like they always have been and always are? Surely they have something to protest about!"

Then, "Maybe they are all really, really happy about something major and want to take time off from protesting to enjoy!"

Then, "Maybe some one or something big and powerful told them to shut up, stay home, and forgetta 'bout it - for now!"

Whatever it is, we will likely see in the coming days.

Go Moola Nova!

Sadrists rally support in parliament to dismiss electoral commission

Al-Aharar Bloc, the Sadrist Movement's representing body under the dome, revealed Wednesday it tabled a motion to withdraw confidence from the electoral commission.

It also added it started dialog with the other blocs in the parliament to secure a vote 'to dismiss the electoral commission'.

The motion relating to withdrawing confidence from the electoral commission has been introduced to the parliament speaker and it is scheduled for debate in the coming session, the Bloc's lawmaker Zeinab al-Taei said in a press release.

She also added most of the leaders of the blocs represented in the parliament are opposed to dismissing the electoral commission, despite the fact that the accusations it faces are 'unquestionable facts'.

However, the lawmaker insisted that many MPs are desiring to withdraw confidence from the electoral commission after they ensured that the recent parliamentary hearing was professional and impartial.

The Sadrist lawmaker yet revealed that there are some sort of understandings with factions of the National Alliance when it comes to replacing the incumbent electoral commission.

The last-minute meetings between different blocs will determine the fate of the commission, she went on to say.

The performance of the electoral commission has been a moot point among the Iraqi political trends, with the Sadrist Movement opposing it, saying it is biased and politically motivated.

The Movement staged weekly protests demanding the change of the commission ahead of the elections.

And canceled the next demonstrations in Baghdad too.

So on another note, does anyone actually think that President Trump is going to Iraq this month just to wish the Iraqi people a happy Ramadan?  :lmao:

Not I! :shakehead:   :shakehead:   :shakehead:

As you may be indicating, LGD, I'm pretty sure President Trump is arriving to inspect and find everything completed. Any errors or omissions will most likely get some rigorous keester warming from President Trump (or designee) or the outright, "YOUR'RE FIRED!!!" Well, hey, it might not be out in front of everybody for everyone to see but the subsequent news articles may bear very interesting stories indicating what President Trump did within his exceptionally effective capacity to Make America Great Again - in Iraq.

Yep. Yep. Around the time President Trump visits Iraq, it may no longer be, "Go Moola Nova!" and may just be, "WOW, MOOLA NOVA!!!"

The only reason to cancel a demonstration is because the demands from SADR political party were met.
