Twilight News Iraqi Foreign Ministry / said on Sunday that Iraq resolve the outstanding on the oil-for-food file financial issues and he was left there only complete compensation for the Kuwait file to meet its obligations and get out of Chapter VII of the UN Security Council.

The ministry said in a statement responded to the Twilight News, that "the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, led the six rounds of important negotiations with the General Secretariat of the United Nations and the views of contracting with them in New York and Paris in order to implement one of the requirements of Security Council Resolution No. 1958 of 2010 and private exit Iraq from Chapter VII of money after belongings commitment to end the oil-for-food and medicine program. "

She added that "Iraq's permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Mohammed Ali Hakim headed Iraq's negotiating team, which finally form of consultants and experts from the Foreign Ministry and the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Justice."

The ministry stated that "the efforts culminated in an agreement whereby the resolution of the external financial issues related to the oil-for-food and medicine and the restoration of Iraq for an amount approximate value of US $ 145 million a file."

The ministry said that "Iraq may be thus fulfilled the obligation before the final decision regarding his release from under Chapter VII, as it was left only has complete compensation with neighboring Kuwait file."

And put Iraq under Chapter VII of the UN Security Council after the invasion of the former Iraqi regime of Kuwait in the early nineties of the last century.

{Baghdad} Euphrates News Foreign Ministry announced that Iraq has fulfilled the commitment before the final decision regarding his release from under Chapter VII.

According to a ministry statement received by the agency {Euphrates News} a copy of it on Sunday, he said that " the Iraqi Foreign led the six rounds of important negotiations with the General Secretariat of the United Nations and the views of contracting with them in New York and Paris in order to implement one of the requirements of Security Council Resolution No. 1958 of 2010 and private exit Iraq of Chapter VII after his commitment to end the belongings oil - for - food and medicine program. "

Thanks Yota....Iraq met with Kuwait last week and basically initiated the ''oil-for-food' condition....Kuwait are very shrewd negotiators and realized the conditions pending for Iraq...Kuwait also knows that any action taken will be overviewed by the international community Iraq is trying to become part of...With this said, Kuwait (being part of the IFSB, which Iraq just became a ''Active Member'') basically said they would continue negotiation with Iraq after the other pending condition (oil-for-food) was met...IMO, This has positive ramification for Iraq in their continuing negotiations this week.....

Iraq, one step closer to leave Chapter VII of UN Charter

 

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday, 25 of Dec. that Iraq had committed to one of the last two decisions to step off Chapter seven of the UN charter, the last step is regarding Kuwait's payment.
The Ministry' Spokesman said in a statement that the Ministry had competed six rounds of negotiations with the General Secretariat of the UN to step of Chapter VII of UN Charter after committing to finish the remaining articles of the oil-for-food program. The negotiations also resulted in paying back 145 $ Million for Iraq.

Iraq now is one step closer to leave the seventh chapter of the UN charter which is regarding Kuwait's payment.

Chapter VII  was imposed after Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait, most notably the protection of its assets abroad.
Chapter 7 of the charter allows the Security Council to authorize actions ranging from sanctions to military intervention if states do not abide by the councils’ demands.
Under the UN resolution, Iraq will enjoy complete sovereignty and independent decision from one hand and it will be dealt with as recognized fully by the international community politically on the other hand.

Iraq’s freedom from Chapter VII will return it to its legal position in the international community, to what it was before the UN Security Council Resolution 838 of 1993, which was passed because of the former regime's forces invasion of Kuwait.
