Iraqi oil projects presented to investors at the Kuwait Conference

Baghdad / Range

"Iraq will offer three refineries to invest in the Iraq reconstruction conference to be held in Kuwait next February," an international source said at the Iraq reconstruction conference to be held in Kuwait. Adding that "the refineries is the refinery of FAO production capacity of 300 thousand barrels per day, and refinery Nasiriyah capacity of 150 thousand barrels per day, and refinery Anbar with a production capacity of 150 thousand barrels per day."

The source said that "Iraq stipulated the implementation of the refineries BOT or BOOT," stressing that "foreign and Arab companies, expressed willingness to establish these refineries individually or through the formation of coalitions."
On the other hand, the Director-General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Ambassador and Liam Swing praised Kuwait's call for an international conference to finance the reconstruction of liberated areas of the Da'ash organization in Iraq. This came during a meeting with the Permanent Representative of Kuwait to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim, at the organization's headquarters in Geneva, where he was invited to attend the conference to be held in Kuwait from February 12 to 14.
Ambassador Swing pointed out that Kuwait's invitation to this conference is a new demonstration of its interest in humanitarian action and its keenness to apply the highest humanitarian standards in dealing with problems and crises all over the world.
The Kuwaiti ambassador said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the call for convening this conference has been welcomed by a wide range of UN and international organizations, as the reconstruction of these areas in Iraq is of great importance in the stability and restoration of security. He said he would make official invitations to a number of UN and international organizations interested in participating in humanitarian and reconstruction issues.
On the other hand, an Egyptian government and investment delegation started on Monday a visit to the Iraqi capital Baghdad to meet with Iraqi officials and businessmen, less than two weeks before the convening of an international conference in Kuwait for the reconstruction of Iraq. The Egyptian delegation at Baghdad International Airport received Iraqi Vice President Iyad Allawi, who includes the Egyptian President's Assistant for National and Strategic Projects, Ibrahim Mahleb, and the Ministers of Manpower, Health and Communications, as well as directors, engineers and experts of more than 20 personalities, as well as heads and representatives of major Egyptian companies In particular.
A senior official in the office of Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi said in a press statement that "the Egyptian delegation will remain for several days, to hold meetings with Iraqi officials and prominent businessmen and members of the Investment Authority."
According to the official of Iraq, "the Egyptian delegation aspires to enter the donors conference as an executive force, not funding," noting that "the delegation has the provision of quick construction projects for destroyed homes in liberated cities of the Dahesh at a cost and a shorter time, as well as infrastructure rehabilitation projects, Electricity, water, telecommunications, transportation, railways and others. "
"The delegation has attractive offers and at the same time provides facilities through Egyptian companies in projects that Iraq wants to build through the funds it will receive during the donor conference in Kuwait," he said.
The Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister, Khalid Al-Jarallah, announced earlier in January that the Kuwait International Conference for the reconstruction of Iraq will be held from February 12 to 14 next.
"The majority of members of the Egyptian delegation are businessmen and specialists in projects and infrastructure, and this is important for understanding on a number of things," said Talal Abdullah, a member of the Iraqi Chamber of Commerce.
"The majority of companies are afraid to enter Iraq and invest or work in it, because of the security situation, and the existence of a country like Egypt with its weight and experience in infrastructure projects is important, but most important to know is that Egypt will not provide projects in the form of grants to Iraq, To give Egypt, the subject is largely dependent on the outcome of the Kuwait Conference. "
For his part, said one of the members of the Iraqi Investment Authority of the Prime Minister, "The government formed a committee headed by Sami Araji, Chairman of the Investment Authority, and other specialists, in order to draw a clear picture of the Egyptian delegation on the map of urgent projects that must start to restore the life of liberated cities in the north and west of the country "He said.
He added: "There is a prevailing belief in Baghdad, that Saudi Arabia may take the initiative to limit the grant through Egyptian companies, and this is not a problem for us at all as long as the goal will be achieved, which is reconstruction."
The National Authority for Investment in Iraq has announced earlier, the participation of 950 international companies in the Kuwait International Conference for the reconstruction of Iraq, which is scheduled to be held on the 12th of February.
The chairman of the committee, Sami Araji, said that the conference will be attended by officials from several countries and representatives of the World Bank and the European Union.
Al-Araji said that the first day of the conference will be dedicated to international organizations, while the second focuses on investment and reconstruction in Iraq, while the third day will invite countries to participate in the event. Al-Araji said that the projects to be presented at the Kuwait conference serve the human and the economy, including 12 sectors. He added that projects include petrochemicals, engineering, construction and agricultural industries, as well as large agricultural projects and projects in sewage, housing, hospitals and others. The Chairman of the Investment Authority, that the strategic projects will include all the provinces, especially the areas that were liberated from the organization calling the terrorist.
