The General Director of the General Company for Services of the International Information Network Ali Al-Qasab said in a press conference held today, on the national project of the Internet in Iraq, and attended by "Economy News", "The optical cable project will improve the quality of the Internet in Iraq to 10 times the current Internet while ensuring non-interruption" , Pointing out that "the percentage of completion in the project, which reached 93% will be completed by the end of this year."


He explained that "the project included the extension of 4 million meters of optical cable in all provinces and a depth of 3 meters with the containment of the system of protection and safety is solid," noting that "the cadres of the ministry in cooperation with partners project managed to connect Iraq with international cables from four border ports with the establishment An international access portal for securing and protecting data and under the direct supervision of the Ministry's technical staff. "

The Ministry of Communications has completed 93 percent of the national Internet project, which includes more than 2000 cabins distributed between Baghdad and the provinces, stressing that the project, which will enter the service by the end of this year will achieve national security of Iraq. The minister said that the ministry has completed a large percentage of the national project of the Internet, which includes 2000 cabins distributed between Baghdad and the provinces, which is hoped to enter the service at the end of this year, stressing the contribution of the project to reduce Internet prices (20% to 50%) compared to current prices. In particular, the reduction depends on the quantity of capacity by the companies that market the various optical network services of telephone, television, video, video and other services. 
He added that the project will provide large Internet capacity to the country at reasonable prices, compared to the Internet available through the Wi-Fi and Scoop Sky, pointing at the same time that his ministry formed follow-up committees on the prices of Internet capacity, which will be available to citizens at prices prepared by the ministry. Al-Rashed stressed that the project will make Iraq an international country and will generate significant financial returns and employment opportunities that contribute to the development of the public and private economic sector, as well as the role of the optical network to preserve national and international security. 
For his part, the director of the General Company for Services of the International Network and Informatics Engineer Ali Al-Qasab in the Ministry said in an exclusive interview to "Sabah" on the sidelines of the conference, that his company has completed 93% of the project of the optical network (the national project of the Internet), noting that it will work to achieve a huge economic return of the state In addition to his ministry, which will reflect positively on all sectors. 
He said that the monthly subscription to the Internet through the optical network will be estimated at about 42 thousand dinars, which will provide telephone and Internet and satellite channels via the optical network, explaining that it will do initially in the areas completed the project within the capital Baghdad and the provinces of the country. 
Al-Qassab revealed the development of 2400 lightboxes distributed among the regions and governorates of the country in order to ensure the provision of optical network services. Each cabin will provide four million and 200 thousand light lines to be delivered to residential homes, shops and institutions through the owners of internet towers and companies that will market Network services which will be announced during the next few years.

Ministry of Communications has completed the implementation of the optical cable project and the preparation of designs and maps of optical network paths in the provinces of Nineveh, Anbar and Salah al-Din. 
The official spokesman of the ministry, Hazem Mohammed Ali, told Al-Sabah: The General Company for Communications and Infrastructure of the Ministry has started the completion of the project of optical and copper cable in Anbar province. It has re-established the infrastructure of communication stations that were destroyed because of the terrorist operations, All their capabilities. He added that the ministry, after the liberation operations, launched a state of maximum alert for all its staff in Anbar province to harness the human resources in order to restore the work of communication joints and lift them out of the devastation, pointing to the rehabilitation of Fallujah photovoltaic station and optical cable of the path of Fallujah Baghdad 300 kilometers towards the area of Abu Munisir, Baghdad. 
Ali said that the technical and engineering staffs have re-operated wet, central, Khalidiya and Fallujah substations, especially after being rehabilitated by the copper cable body operating in the Directorate of Communications and Anbar Post. The telephone lines were restored to citizens who exceeded one thousand telephone lines, in addition to the rehabilitation of 700 km of cables The light of the first tracks connects the gray - 160 km - Nukhayb - Karbala and Baghdad with a distance of 300 km, while the second track extends to Ramadi - 160 km - Wetla Trebil with a distance of 400 kilometers. 
He confirmed that the ministry had previously coordinated with the Directorate of Civil Defense in Anbar province to remove the war debris, explosives and improvised explosive devices from the building of the Directorate of Communications and Anbar Post (the new site), as the removal and removal of remnants of a war missile from the roof of the building, four floors after dismantling.
