The only reason I see to print a 100k dinar note is hyperinflation and does not the case in Iraq.

Okay,

I'm not a lopster.  I really hope as much as anyone else here this investment actually works.  I think maaaaaaybe someday it will so I'm keeping my dinars.

BUT, I have to say Iraq is one of the worst messed up countries I've ever seen. I'm ex-military and my recent job with the airlines have had me in contact with many current and ex military folks. The ones that have been to Iraq say it's too screwed up and not to invest there from what they've seen and heard themselves.

I hope they're wrong but internally I'm done hoping too much anymore.  They act as if they don't ever want to get help or change their crooked ways.

It's with articles like this that I go straight for the Irish Whiskey . . . I hear ya Gypsygirl. what with this article and the one about Kicking the HCL down the road, yet again; I just poured me " a triple shot of that stuff."

I'm hoping that a lot of what we're going to read right now is just going to be smoke.

Otherwise, we might be looking to, at some time during 2017 before we "might" actually get off this roller coaster. I hope I'm wrong about this.

This may be a way to significantly reduce the IQD note count within Iraq.  Due to the high denomination and high level security system, the Iraq citizens may pull out their old (maybe worn out) 250, 500, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, and 25,000 dinar notes and exchange them for the 100,000 notes.  This would, as the article alludes, make for "easy storage." The Iraqi citizen may want to know they have bone fide IQD since they may suspect at least some of the IQD they hold is counterfeit.  When they exchange the lower denominations for the 100,000 notes, the counterfeited IQD could then be removed and there would likely be less of an uproar than if the revaluation had already occurred.  The counterfeited IQD has a much lower perceived value now so the Iraqi citizen may not have much of an issue if those notes were discarded.

Thank You, Yota, for the clarification.  I suspect the end result would be a significantly reduced note count and less storage space required for the Iraqi citizen, amoung other purposes.

When is this coin--valued at equal to our dollar--supposed to come out into circulation?
