SocalDinar
STUPIDITY!!! Federal agency says wearing 'Don't Tread on Me' hat could be racial harassment Wearing a Gadsden Flag hat to work could be considered racial harassment, according to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the government body that oversees “hostile work environment” harassment claims against federal agencies. The iconic flag, which originates from the Revolutionary War, features coiled snake above the words “Don’t Tread On Me.” In recent years, it has become a favorite symbol of the Tea Party movement and conservative activists. Earlier this year, the EEOC received a complaint from a “Shelton,” an African American, who charged that his employer (the federal government) had subjected him to racial discrimination when a coworker “repeatedly wore a cap with an insignia of the Gadsden Flag.” Shelton (not his real name) said he found the cap to be “racially offensive” because the man who designed it in 1775, Christopher Gadsden, was a slave owner and because the insignia was a “historical indicator of white resentment against blacks stemming largely from the Tea Party.” The EEOC acknowledged that the flag did not originate with the Tea Party movement, and was created centuries ago “in a non-racial context.” However, the commission also found that the Gadsden Flag could be “interpreted to convey racially-tinged messages in some contexts,” citing as an example a 2014 shooting spree in which white supremacists draped Gadsden Flags over the bodies of two murdered police officers. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/08/05/federal-agency-says-wearing-dont-tread-on-me-hat-could-be-racial-harassment.html
429
Give me a break. Is this now a "racist" flag? It's the flag flown from the bow on every US Navy ship in port and on the fantail of surface ships at sea.

Sentinel7
They found that calling a symbol racist works in getting a symbol banned. First it was the stars and bars. Now they are attacking the Gadsden flag. Believe it or not this is not about racism. This is about the new world order and global government. They are systemically trying to remove all symbols and verbiage that convey rebellion, freedom and desire to forge your own destiny. It is not a coincidence that the first multi nation union started in Europe All of Europe historically has been ruled over not led by. The new world order cannot allow people who want their lives and destiny left to their desires. The new world order will design your life for you they will assign your career your housing and the benefits that you receive or don’t receive. The Constitution is already under constant attack so is Christianity. Soon you will find the national anthem, the flag and your desire for self-governance ridiculed and attacked. As I see it there are only four Items standing in their way. 1. Brexit 2. American Constitution 3. NRA and Americas refusal to give up our guns 4. Trump Vote very carefully in November your freedom depends on it. No Surrender No Retreat and No Compromise

EEOC should never even have entertained the very idea of "investigating" this. Should instead have sent the whining, overly-sensitive, self-victimizing complainer to a safe space'... IN A NUT HOUSE ! . Edited August 6, 2016 by SgtFuryUSCZ
Cronus
I guess we cant wear a hat with the American Flag on it also. Betsy Ross's husband owned slaves at the time.
