mrparrot
Yeah....Uh....NOT. Iraq doesn't care about US holidays. If they do something that just happens to fall on a US holiday, it's just timing. Has nothing to do with that day being a US holiday. Besides, Valentines Day is NOT a holiday. It's just another made-up way to separate you from your money. Let me break it down for you. Day One - Morning - You buy flowers ( in a vase ) and chocolates for the old ball & chain. Day One - Evening - You hand over said flowers and chocolates. The old ball & chain smells the flowers, puts the vase on the diningroom table, and eats the choclates. Day Two - The old ball & chain smells the flowers, and says to herself, "Shouldn't have eaten all those chocolates last night. They went right to my hips, thighs, and butt.". Day Three - Flowers starting to wilt. You notice that the old ball & chain is showing a slight expansion of the hip, thigh, and butt areas. Day Four - Flowers wilting more, water in vase starting to turn green. The old ball & chain is cranky because she hasn't eaten due to chocolate-induced weight gain. Day Five - Flowers more of less dead now, water in vase is now a breeding ground for misquitos. The old ball & chain is now openly hostile towards you because you're the one who brought the chocolates into the house. Day Six - Flowers in trash, vase poured out, tossed in dish washer, washed, and stuffed in a closet, never to be seen again until moving day. The old ball & chain is still cranky. So...Men, you have two choices. Don't do anything, and explain to the old ball & chain that you're being fiscally responsible, or.. just take a $100.00 bill, buy a vase, throw it in the closet, take the change, light it on fire, and throw it in the fireplace. Valentines Day is a lose-lose for us men anyway, in spite of what those liars at Hallmark say... 11

Francie26
Hmmm . . . Best I can tell, all three of you are pathetic. No wonder your lady doesn't want you to touch her. Sheesh!! Or should I have said "all five of you"? Whatever. . . It's pathetic either way. 6

millionaire in training
Wow My Parrot how sad for you........ Being a romantic person isn't something that you can force or fake. It's like having class. You either have it or you don't. You can't borrow or steel it. I personally LOVE Valentines Day. It's a day that you can celebrate love in all it's pizzazz. It doesn't pertain only to a significant other. It's a day that you can playfully and affectionately let everyone in your life know that you love them and that they are special to you. Your parents, your children, grand kids, friends, co-workers , neighbors etc......... I for one will be celebrating it as I do every year..... 6
dantach
When my wife & I were starting out, I convinced her that 1 rose was the same as 12. This has worked for 53 years. Has saved 583 roses.
mrparrot
After being married for 17 years, I'm burned out. I just want to go live by myself. The kids are all over 18, so they don't need me for anything anymore. Love is just a waste of time. People grow, change, evolve. And rarely is it in line with their partner. We're strangers now. Trying to peacefully coexist under the same roof, because we can't afford a divorce and neither one of us can afford the house on our own. Right now, it's hard to afford it together because I'm making less than half what I was making before. ( Thank you, GM, for screwing so many of us who weren't even union employees ) When this ride ends, if ever, we're paying off the house, she's keeping it for the kids as their inheritance when she gone, and I'm moving out of California. Hate this place...

ladyjane
Personally,I love it when my husband brings me flowers, and, he does it often. If he brings chocolates, we share them. We have been together for 14 years and continue to consider ourselves lucky to be with each other. Sometimes, I bring flowers for him. After the RV we will continue to appreciate our lives. Sorry that everyone does not enjoy this frame of mind. We sometimes have to work at it like everyone else, but the pay off is immeasureable. King Bean
Sorry for your emotional demise, Mr. Parrot. Might I have your wife's email so I can advise her of her impending freedom? I've always told my wife that love isn't a 50/50 proposition.....it's 100/100. You give 100% EACH. It's that point where you stop giving, thinking you've "done enough" and it's the other persons turn to give back. That's the start of the end. Best wishes to her future and someone that appreciates her. But Happy Valentine's Day to you. 3
mrparrot
Sorry for your emotional demise, Mr. Parrot. Might I have your wife's email so I can advise her of her impending freedom? She already knows, and is equally looking forward to it. She sees it as being freed from the loser that she married. Didn't always feel that way, but now that I'm making less than half of what I was making before, she would rather kick me to the curb than do anything that might infinge on what she wants. She's always been about what she's wanted, when it came to me. With anyone else, she did what she could to help them. With me, if she had to sacrifice anything, it was made clear that she expected to be paid back for any sacrifices she had to make because of me. So..guys...if a woman ever says that the money is not what it's about, or that the money isn't important, she's a liar. With women, it's ALWAYS about the money...
dontlop
It's funny how that works I see people that are married out together and both of them are great people with friends and they both get along great with everyone but themselves They just need to step back and call a truce and work thru the dumb stuff because when they seperate and find a new one its the same thing again They get along with everyone but themselves Fix it
mrparrot
Fix it There's nothing left to fix. Blow up a balloon. Pop it. Now, fix the hole in the balloon, and put back the air that escaped. No, not just any air. Put back in the air that was in the ballon before it popped. You can't. You can't find the air molecules that were in the balloon. They're gone...

dontlop
To bad Sorry to hear that I used to like finding a nice hotel with lots of action dancing and such and just go get drunk and dance it away and look at all the kids and bring back memories I had to travel to a big town like Cleveland to do it because we didn't need to be around any one we knew to heal Those reminders came from the stories we told to our friends about each other lingered so getting away from everyone helped Vacations were costly and a night out was under 200 But in the end we went our own ways too I'm not so sure either are happier being alone
