Maggie123
Awww come on Maggie, it was a joke. I know we rib each other occasionally, well all the time, but it's not personal LOL. I beat up on Simple and Stud too, and they fire right back, but I don't hate them or even dislike them, we just disagree on things we are all apparently passionate about!! I have a great sense of humor and all my friends say I'm a major smart @$$ it's my way of dealing with life's trials, hey if you can't laugh about it and at yourself, it will consume ya!! You are one of the funnest I have to admit to antagonize though because you come back with such vigor!! I have Passion in my views without the disrespect. May I suggest a Higher Road? jg1
***/// Rush could pop all the pain pills in the world and still be smarter then obummer on his best day. I believe he had originally taken pain pills for a medical reason. It was not recreational, and he became addicted. I think that its much different when you take them for recreation, not caring or following any prescription and becoming addicted. Lmao....I didnt think of that No kidding Dive.....Me too I believe there was a slight miscalculation on deciferring the calendar. Actually the end of the world is supposed to happen, tomarrow October 19 2012 with the asteroids that's are from dabri from Hallie's comet's tail. Naaa, kidding. Hildegard
From the ExpatFocus site. The cost of daily items of groceries in the Indian capital New Delhi is compared with US dollar and UK Pound and European Euro. These costs may vary on day-to-day basis depending on the currency variations. The cost of most of the grocery items is within the reach of almost all classes of society. A kilo of tomatoes or most vegetables cost approximately USD 0.28, a loaf of bread comes for about USD 0.23, Half-kilogram butter for USD 1.28, 10 eggs for USD 0.50, a pack of cigarettes for USD 0.69. One can go out and have a cafe meal for USD 2.3 and a restaurant meal for USD 6.9; a chilled beer can costs about USD 1.5 .90 times 8 hrs = 7.2 a day, 36 USD per week, 144 USD per month, sounds like a liveable wage to me

Tripphood
I agree Cris, I have said all along....that when the dead beat is replaced we will see an immediate release in the economy.. Businesses will start hiring and will let go of the money they have been holding onto, and people will start spending like its Christmas ( well it practically is) and the people who've been afraid to buy a house will run out and purchase one. We'll be singing "happy days are here again"!

People already spending, ask Apple, look at the DOW Jones. A bunch of bull is floating about spending; we're just spending with caution. There's always a pause during Presidential elections. We'll be singing "happy days are here again"! Tripphood...The mechanisms for creating a booming Economy in the US are so simple, it could easily happen overnight (Europe has a different problem) We have not been pushed so far into the Socialist hole that we cant scramble back out. Luckily for the EU and the rest of the world, we are still the leader and they will benefit from our Recovery. Here's an interesting story I read this morning....The Kurdish region of Iraq is in the middle of a boom.....They have been creating an Economy based on their Natural Resources.....Think of the potential in America Money rains in Kurdistan Tuesday, 02 October 2012, 11:37 GMT The Kurdish Globe By Goran Sabah Ghafour "The land of money and kingish Life" He drops his head into his hands and peers out from behind his fingers. It isn't a half-wit gesture, perhaps he is trying to mock when asked how much he makes per month. He clears his throat as if braced for a tough competition and states "Everybody in Kurdistan has a magic wand for money!" I, pivot my shoulders to the wooden chair in a café, where all people seem to have fun, shrug and ask what does "magic wand" mean here" He slurs the last words a little, like a speaker just getting started, "It means that everybody everywhere in Kurdistan makes money easily -more than enough." He is sodden with hope. Ghafour Soran, a taxi driver from Erbil, the capital of Kurdistan, is not in a propertied class but a middle class who makes $2000 USD per month. He is married to a housewife who has no income at all. Together they raise three children. He owns a half-finished house and tries his best to complete his house by the end of next year. He saves $1200 USD per month. "I live like a king," he states with a barking laugh and complains a bit about the lack of basic services in his neighborhood such as the streets are not paved, there are water and sewage shortages as well as an absence of public parks, libraries, schools and hospitals. Throughout my interviews, I hear different people in different fields saying, the Kurdish boom is unprecedented. Inflation is rife. Average families make $2500-3500 a month. No cars, no goods, no fruit, no furniture is ever stuck in the markets. People buy them day in , day out. You go to a furniture store, all Kurdistan is there to buy furniture. You visit the downtown; all people are there shopping and money flies out of the hands of every one. You go to the car shows, people are busy bargaining and buying 2013 models and brand new cars. Ako Khalid, an economist living in Kurdistan with a double citizenship: Kurdish and German, states that Kurdistan is really "the land of money" and the boom is at its peak. Though the price of real estate is more expensive than in Istanbul, Paris and even California, people still buy villas, lands and rows of houses! One 200 meter square house- two floors is worth one million USD in an undeveloped district called Kalar in the south east of Kurdistan. One meter of land in Erbil hits five thousand USD. These prices were nothing more than a dream some five years ago in Kurdistan. As Khalid says everything is up for grabs in Kurdistan you just need to "put your trust in the right people" and you can wake up the next day as a millionaire. Kurdistan has become also the land of big companies competing for the consumers who don't know what it is like to taste local fruit, vegetables and other diets . For them almost everything is imported from Turkey and Iran and some European and Gulf countries. Pepsi and Coca Cola, Mercedes and Ford are good examples. And Chinese, European and American oil firms beat each other very hard to sign oil contracts with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and rush to get started. The funniest part, and possibly the worst, is that Macdonald hasn't showed up yet in this big market where thousands of families have dinner outside. As Khalid says when one sees the restaurants full all the time, even during brunch times it is easy to think that nobody eats at home in Kurdistan. "And that's a big sign that people have money in this part of the world." http://www.kurdishglobe.net/display-article.html?id=38507D7224EB35FA8AEC270C5538941C Edited October 20, 2012 by cris
