Iraqi oil exports soar in April 2012 5/1/2012 3:45 PM BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi oil ministry spokesman disclosed today that the volume of Iraqi oil exports for last April reached its highest levels since 1989, over-passing the levels of March last production scales. On the other hand, an economic analyst expected the increase in exports volume to overcome the deficit in the national budget, due to non-Kurdish oil exports. In a special statement to Aswat al-Iraq, spokesman Asim Jihad said that April oil exports reached to 77.4 million barrels, compared to 71.827 million barrels in previous March. The revenues reached to 8.8 billion dollars, compared to 8.4 billion dollars in March last. He attributed the increase in exports is the implementation of floating piers. Jihad added that the volume of southern exports reached to 63.45 million barrels, while Kirkuk exports reached to 11.79 million barrels. Exports to Jordan reached to 180.000 barrels, with an average of 6000 b/d. Economic expert Abdul Razzaq Sadiq said that the increase in oil prices and production will cover the budget's deficit.
