Are they looking to form "states" in Iraq....... or is this an attempt to make the "kurds" a nation unto themselves.

State or nation what is their aim?

Nation. To me, they are already a state, and almost a nation. They have their own army, they have income, they have their own government. The only thing they do not have are camels that stuff their bras with dinar, and for me, that is a plus.

They also have international business, successful I might add, and the support of the US government, which includes a great relationship.

Leverage? You bet.

There are arguments against becoming a nation, but if I were Kurdistan, I would want to drop Baghdad like a bad idea. JMHO.

Will it no longer be viable? How will all of this play out with Iran threatening conflict in the area? The separation of these two would remove a majority of the oil and gas that has been the basis of stabilizability for the dinar. Kurds leave and so does the strength of the dinar. Only one hope for us, RV now, separate in five years.

Will it no longer be viable? How will all of this play out with Iran threatening conflict in the area? The separation of these two would remove a majority of the oil and gas that has been the basis of stabilizability for the dinar. Kurds leave and so does the strength of the dinar. Only one hope for us, RV now, separate in five years.

I agree. By no means do I think Kurdistan should pull out of Iraq right now, I can see how they with the resourdes they have, but I would hope it would happen in the future. It would be devastating for us. That is why I included "Oh, boy" in the subtitle. But it does give the Kurds leverage, and I would think that it would make the GOI sit up a little straighter and take note, and perhaps, maybe, get their act together. The world is watching.

To call the politicians in Iraq IDIOT is to give all the idiots of the world a bad name!!!!!Words can NOT describe this bunch of JOKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!--I think we (rest of the world) should let them revert back to where they have been for thousands of years---killing each other!!!!

Wouldn't surprise me :rolleyes: .....financially & for reporting purposes they've been acting independently for the longest time....for example...the CBI's financials should include (consolidate) banks located in Erbil & Suliaimaniyah....however, they only report to the Kurdistan regional Gov't.....so Keep :huh::blink::unsure: ....do you still feel that the CBI's financials truly provides us with an accurate picture :huh::blink:

One would think it would be a wise decision to include them in any Country dealings. Personally, I see the Kurdistan region developing much quicker than the rest of her Country.

They already have, the kurds have been busy building electric and water plants and infrastructure while the idiots (politicans) in iraq are busy stealing from the people.

This could be a problem for the GoI. The boundaries used by MNF-I, MNC-I, and finally USF-I made a convinient boundary line for a "Three-State" Iraq whether we want to look at it that way or not. The Kurds have known for a long time that Sunni-Shiite relations in Iraq were strained at best. If this article is true, then I concur that this could really be the begining of a separation that will seriously impact the revenue of the GoI. The question is whether or not Maliki has enough political/military influence to stop them from separating should Kurdistan decide to do so. Erbil agreement or separate state, Mr. Maliki?
