Popular Post Adam Montana
Gooooood morning DinarVets! I've said it before, and I'll say it again... sometimesit's good to be wrong. I've held onto the belief that Maliki would remain inthe position of Prime Minister, but now there is a seriouschance that he will be replaced. For those of you just tuning in, President Fuad Masum hasmade a bold move and declared Haider Al-Abadi the new PM,and gave him 30 days to form the government. There are a couple of things to consider on the matter,so I won't be making any statements like "He is GONE" -it would be foolish to underestimate Maliki and possiblyover-estimate the new President Fuad Masum's ability tostand by his decision. Maliki does have supporters and isindeed a very powerful man in Iraq. Another important point - the new President of Iraq is aKurd (Sunni), but the new choice for Prime Minister waschosen out of the same political party as Maliki. This isa strong indicator of exactly how powerful the Shiite clanis in Baghdad and in the government there, which begs thequestion... Will a new PM make a difference? After much research on the new choice for PM Haider Al-Abadi,I think it will. Although they are of the same politicalparty, Haider Al-Abadi is a much different man than Maliki. To be completely blunt about it, Maliki is a thug and Abadiappears to be more of a diplomat. He will be much morelikely to reach across the aisle and compromise or even helpthe Kurds, and that's something that is desperately neededright now. So at this time, we wait a short 27 more days to see if Abadican be successful in actually pushing Maliki out and forminga government. For a more in depth look at the political situation, check out TBomb's thread here. idplzr Is Maliki really gone??? It's hard to say for sure yet, but it looks promising! thylocene With ISIL and the worsening state of affairs in IRAQ what is your gut feeling on how much this has set back our investment. For those of us who have been waiting several years (and even more) will it be several more years before we see an RV if at all. We are at least 27 days away from anything major, and how much longer than that really depends on how they handle the IS invasion. The IS is an evil that needs to be exterminated... the quicker they do that, the faster they and the rest of the world will be safe. mokie775 Do you think Iraq will have to show stability to RV, or do you think they will need to RV to gain stability? The former. gross0612 Is Abadi a badie? We he become the PM? He has potential to be better for Iraq than Maliki... and I hope he is successful in pushing out Maliki and forming a government. If he is not, things are going to go bad real quick. yendor A friend of mine has a BUNCH of Dinar on reserve..... What's the chance of the dealer bolting if/when this RV happens and my buddy isn't able to catch up to him to exercise his reserve option? I know that this action is a serious currency fraud and the broker could be in serious federal trouble, but what if the broker has a citizenship passport in a difficult country where our government won't be able to punish the scoundrel .... Is my buddy S.O.L ? I have never been a fan of any Reserve program - my only comment on it is "get out". geographer What are the chances that BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) will do a reset on their monies before Iraq and in your opinion what effects are we looking at as far as the dollar crumbling? I believe that China and Russia would love t see the US stumble and fall. I think Iraq will happen before BRICS... but the most important part of your comment is the inevitable continued decline and very possibly a complete collapse of the US dollar. I believe it's everyone's personal responsibility to research that and what to do about it. Personally, I do not keep cash. Precious metals and Real Estate are possibles to hedge against the crumbling dollar, among others. waitingondinar Adam, with everything that has happened in Iraq, ie. ISIS, Malaki getting pushed out, New Prime Minister Abadi selected, what still remains to be completed so an RV can happen? When will the HCL get passed? Are there still laws that need to be passed? How long in your estimate do you think it will take before an RV can happen? Please add any other info that you can. Thanks At this time - successfully seat the new Prime Minister, form the new Government which should be much more friendly and likely to make the HCL a reality, control the situation with IS. Wiljor Adam, you have always indicated that, although not the best choice, Maliki perhaps may be the only candidate able to be in the PM chair. What are your thoughts now that he is gone? And 2nd do you see things now more in our favor and moving quicker?Let me add by saying your work here is superb to say the least and your devotion to this project nothing other then stellar. Very much appreciated. I do see things moving quicker now - if they successfully replace Maliki with Abadi, things should be much better for all of Iraq. Thanks for the kind words, and you are welcome!

amal
30 days is the legal time limit, not a recomendation. . Maliki is hated outside of his shiite sect. Yes Shiites make up the majority in Iraq but in this parliamentary system simply being popular among your own group is not enough. This whole isis thing has everything to do with the elections and Maliki. It will not take Abadi the full 30 days. The pressure is on from the US, UN, Iran, etc to get this new government settled so they can properly flush out the terrorsits. This new gov will be in place within a week.

TrinityeXchange
Thanks Adam for making a forum like this possible! Your work is greatly appreciated. As far as Maliki, yes he is powerful however he is up against just as powerful an opposition in Iran, US, 6x Ayatollahs, all the political blocs to name a few. He has played all of his cards and lost. His next best move would be to try getting assassinated to stir up civil unrest, but we all know he is more for self than for any cause. There is no stopping this new Iraqi train from running. On top of all of that I hope some of us were able to take advantage of the sell that happened on the ISX. Domestic investor confidence has been restored with the new government being established and stocks are surging upward. I'm already up 10% on some of my picks! Its a great time to be on the ISX. Cheers

Cheers Trinity, You must have made the same move/s as I did. I was waiting on Maliki's move too. As as have previously discussed, this thing is much bigger than Maliki. He was put there and he was taken away. In the same vein, the currency was devalued and the currency will be restored. I, like you, am waiting on the impending ISX and ESX announcement to follow suite. I too would suggest that people look at the ISX and ESX as opportunity to stay "encouraged" while we wait on the Big Dance. Blessings All.
