Haha, wish I knew Tex. It doesnt make much sense to me. On one hand it sure looks like a standard redenomination where they are coming out with a 50k which will eventually be a 50. On the other hand why not just get that over with now then and come out with the lower denoms now. If they arent ready with the lower denoms and they really have a liquidity issue bringing out more of the already in print dinar makes more sense to me then printing a new higher note which will only be valid for a short while if its going to lose 3 0's soon. It costs too much to print this new currency as just a stop gap for a few months. On the surface its a real head scratcher. Hoping for the best. Maybe we wont even see these, theyre saying early next month, a lot could happen between now and then.

Breitling has been pushing this theory with holes imo. The note count is around 4 billion and according to the cbi website has been since Ive been following this in 2009. Breitling always glosses over where he is getting the 9 billion count from but claims it was once 9 billion, now is 4 billion and they want to get it to 1 billion before they rv. Several articles have stated that the remove the 0s program aims to take the note count from 4 billion to 1 billion but I think they are saying after the fact not before, several are redenomination articles. Note count means nothing at all if it doesnt reduce the money supply. According to the cbis numbers which you can feel free to check at cbi.iq neither the note count nor money supply has gone down.

How does turning two 25k notes into one 50k note equal less dinar in circulation? The note count theory only holds any truth if it involves less dinar in circulation. In general adding higher denoms does the opposite of this.

Yes for the year. Which is why these articles saying they are "renewing" the oil agreement in the budget, there was an agreement in the 2015 budget as well. The hydro carbon law is a stand alone piece of legislation which is more comprehensive and wont need to be revoted on every year.

If I was forced to guess Id say we will get the hcl with a basket of all the other important laws as part of Abadis reforms and national reconciliation and that may come right after or before the dinar is restructured in some way. Sadly no. This is another example of most of dinar land being short on memory and long on hope. This is talking about the budget law again and the oil agreement that needs to be part of the budget. The kurds and baghdad had an oil agreement in this years budget law as well. Then by june we read lots of articles about how baghdad was not living up to their end of the bargain even though it was law via the budget. The kurds were sending the barrels they agreed to send through somo and were not getting the 17% they were promised in the budget. Baghdad was crying poor which they were and also saying the kurds werent pumping as much as they said they would. The hydro carbon law will set these agreements in place more permanently since the budget needs to be redone every year. Any time we read about the kurds and baghdad getting along its good news but really news of them agreeing on an oil agreement in the budget law at this point in time is the exact same place we found ourselves last year. Fast forward a year and the Kurds have not been paid as much as they should because Iraq is running at huge deficit and we are all celebrating the same news again. Iraq needs to pass all the laws stalled after two readings, including the hcl, and move to an open economy that has more streams of revenue so they can close down the deficit or the oil agreement in this years budget will be no more honored then last years.

Going out on a limb. If and thats a big if at the moment but if this ride is going to end soon/this year. IMO we will finally see all these laws passed in one basket as part of the reforms. A basket seemed like a dinar land rumor forever but it seems like that could be what they are setting this up for.

You sure about that? I thought the com voted to remove them and we were told parliament voted in favor of Abadis reforms but I dont recall anything about parliament voting on this specifically. The news has been all over the place though so Im not sure. IMO I dont think parliament voted to remove the three stooges malaki allawi and najafi. If they did I think it would be very contentious as they still have a lot of supporters.

Why wouldnt he get a neg? He posts nonsense all day every day. Here is an article talking about a devaluation of the dinar. He asks if this is possibly a sucker rate and asks if we could see 10 cents out of the gate. The dinar is currently worth 1166 per dollar and the article is talking about lowering it even more, not increasing it to 10 cents. Sure the article warrants a post in the NEWS section but its just an opinion piece. Luigi has resorted lately to even making crap up himself like posting currency converter screen shots where its conveniently been set at 10,000 dinars vs other currencies in fine print to add to the confusion. I dont believe he believes anything he posts, he clearly gets off on feeding into the dumb masses that follow some of the gurus.
