A leader in the coalition of "victory" led by Prime Minister Haider Abadi, Saturday, the Islamic Dawa Party held a meeting of the party's consultation attended by the Secretary General of the party Nuri al-Maliki, in addition to Abadi .

The leader of the Al- Da'wa Party, who was held this morning in Baghdad , was quoted by theNRT Arabiya website as saying today (September 22nd) that Prime Minister Haider al-Abbadi had taken a "firm stand".

"Al-Abbadi told Al-Nasr that he would attend a meeting of the Dawa Party to confirm the unity of the party and reject any attempt to weaken it," he said.

He noted that "Abadi stressed at the meeting of the Dawa Party that his political and government decision, national and far from any wishes or orientations."

He stressed that the leadership and the Shura Council of the Dawa Party continues to hold meetings in the presence of Secretary General of the party Nuri al-Maliki, and Prime Minister Haider Abadi.

After the meeting, the party issued a statement stating that "based on the importance of the political conditions in Iraq, and the need to maintain the current constitutional entitlements, including the mandate of the largest parliamentary bloc to nominate the Prime Minister in accordance with the Constitution to form a government that responds to the requirements of citizens service and security, In addition to preserving its unity, security, sovereignty and stability away from the security and political tensions facing the region, the leadership and the Shura Council of the Islamic Dawa Party held a joint meeting. "

The statement added that the meeting discussed the circumstances and circumstances surrounding Iraq and the political process and the role of the party in these developments, where the attendees stressed the importance of overcoming the differences of opinion within the ranks of the party to strengthen the unity of political position.

The participants also stressed the importance of activating the national role of the party and unify the vision and program and effort of the two parliamentary blocs "coalition of victory" and "coalition of state law" and the need to seek consolidation of the lists as a step on the road to the assembly of parliamentary blocs with common goals and programs.

The statement said that the two communities stopped at the obstacles that prevented the achievement of those goals at the level of the parliamentary blocs or at the national level and examined ways to overcome those obstacles and put appropriate mechanisms for that, and also agreed on the importance of opening prospects for cooperation with other political blocs in order to accelerate the completion of the government In line with the recommendations of the Supreme Reference and in accordance with the constitutional times and that respond to the aspirations of the people in the fight against corruption and the extension of the rule of law and provide employment opportunities and services to the general Iraqi people, especially disadvantaged classes.

At the end of the meeting, the attendees decided to convene the General Conference of the Islamic Dawa Party as soon as possible.

On the other hand informed sources said that the meeting of the Dawa Party last, aims to try to announce the merger of the blocks of law and victory and invite others to join the largest bloc and put forward a candidate for prime minister by them .

Three leaders of the Dawa Party last week issued a statement in which they held Abadi responsible for the disintegration of the party and the possibility of losing the post of prime minister because of his alliance with Moqtada al-Sadr and Ammar al-Hakim. And that Abadi refused to push Sadr to the opposition, and tried to push the leadership of the party to merge the rule of law and victory and understanding with Sadr on a large coalition formed by the government under his chairmanship.

Sources pointed out that "the recent leak of a number of leaders of the Dawa Party appeared to be in response to the leaking of Abadi, and renewed the latter's responsibility, and demanded the removal of Abbadi from the party or the freezing of membership . "

Earlier reports said the Dawa Party, which has been ruling Iraq since 2005, is suffering from major problems and internal divisions between the wings of al-Maliki and al-Abadi, whose predictions are about to freeze his membership after he is accused of dispersing the party. Maliki's wing is trying to capitalize on the moment of weakness it is experiencing Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi for his entourage and the leaders of his adherents to the "building" coalition.
