umbertino
by: Chauncey K. Robinson January 20 2016 On Jan. 5, 2016, President Obama gave a passionate speech that unveiled his new strategy to curb gun violence in America by calling for a "national sense of urgency" on the issue. As the president stated: "We are the only advanced country on Earth that sees this kind of mass [gun] violence erupt with this kind of frequency... It doesn't happen in other advanced countries. It's not even close. And as I've said before, somehow we've become numb to it and we start thinking that this is normal." His proposals focus on new background check requirements that will enhance the effectiveness of the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), and greater education and enforcement efforts of existing laws at the state level. People's World took it to the streets to ask: What do you think it will take to curb gun violence, and what is it about America's love of guns that prevents common sense gun regulation? Check out the video above to see what people had to say. RV ME
The question posed is “Is America’s love of guns stopping common sense gun regulation”. The correct answer is a resounding NO! If the question was “Are Americans rightfully fearful of the Federal government and liberals who will do and say anything to chip away at the 2nd Amendment” then the answer is a resounding YES! Just because Obummer calls something “common sense” does not make it so (chances are it is the exact opposite). All you need to look at is the first person interviewed in the posted video, she states that there should be no guns. To Americans with actual common sense this comes as no surprise. That is why common sense Americans fight against more gun restrictions, we know where that liberal utopian road leads. 12

new york kevin
RVme, Woops fat fingers of mine hit the neg button instead of the pump you up one. Some one please help. Umbertino, I ment to neg you you well intended closet socialist oink. Common sense gun legislation would be legislation that ... Hmmm ... Actually addresses the issue of rampant gun violence in America. Not one of Obama's Executive Actions, including his latest, will ever do anything to address the school shootings, or the gun deaths/murders within the inner cities of America, or the "home grown" radical Islamic jihadi attacks. They only serve to make it more difficult for law abiding citizens to protect themselves. Citizens who cannot afford to hire body guards with guns. Like O's wuss supporters in Hollywood . It must pain you, and those like you that Donald Trump is defining the actual causes of gun violence in America correctly. I know the media dislikes it. Trump said that the actual reasons for the violence is a lack of Health Care for Psychological Patients, the distruction of the family unit in inner city families ie an abundance of single parent homes with one parent out of the picture, and the excessive unemployment rate of African Ameicans. Coupled with a lack of Vocational Training for jobs that are needed.

Rockymtnhi
Obama is a lair about no other advanced countries having these shootings. Look it up. Obama lies about everything. A well armed country is a safer country. His recent executive orders are illegal and would have done absolutely nothing to have stopped the recent attacks. What would have been safer would have been if everyone in the room in San Bernardino had been carrying. Look at Ft Hood. Soldiers were not allowed to be armed on base so the shooter had no opposition. Obama caused that. Can you imagine a military facility gun free zone!!!! No one allowed to carry their weapons!!! Utter and total BS. Obama was the ultimate killer there. Even Bush made soldiers in the field at times carry unloaded guns. They are the problem, not the armed public.

dog53
There`s nothing I can say that hasnt already been said in the previous post in this topic. but I like the sound of listing to myself talk(at least thats what mrs dog says) We are not bad guys Umbert because we cling to our guns and our bibles. You would never no I was carrying a gun . I would just be that guy in line at the grocery store buying milk , bread and eggs. I am responsible for my guns and with my guns. I teach my kids grandkids the same and if I live long enough I will teach my great grandkids. They are not running a muck carjacking and robbing stores . There is no such thing as common sense GUN LAWS. There`s such a thing as common sense handling of firearms but there`s no law that will ever be written that will keep a BAD man from doing BAD things. Period. Edited January 20, 2016 by dog53

Informational use only: In the 80's and early 90's, at least on my Army post, weapons were not allowed with the exception being MP's. A soldier's M16 or Beretta 9mm was kept at the weapons cage and issued upon training or deployment.....the ammunition would be provided when you reached your destination and you signed your name for all of it. Ronald Reagan and George H W Bush were the CIC's of the day, respectfully. Here is an example of common sense gun regulation. If you own a personal Howitzer and insist on setting it off every morning at 0600 when you raise your American Flag in your flower garden, some of the neighbors will be pissed........common sense. divemaster5734
The secret? OK, fine. I'll tell you the REAL reason. Are you ready? You SURE you want to hear this? It's because moronic idiots like the one who wrote this article exist, that's why we wont give up our guns. We only do it to piss off the cowards. Since you are obviously not able to process any fact that doesn't fit into your agenda, please go on and continue to hate freedom for whatever reason you want. If you guys would just shut the hell up this whole "problem" wouldn't ever be heard of again, promise..

Have you been an alcoholic or an anorexic or angry at your boss, just saying that list of disorders only grows...FYI AND OF NOTE, FALSE FLAGS ARE REAL SO ALL THIS CRAP ABOUT GUN VIOLENCE IS PROPAGATED BY SOCIALISTS WHO WANT YOU TO BE COMPLACENT
