happygilmore
To little to late. Iraq is going down the tubes, and it will be a long long time before things get any better, if ever. I see Iraq getting torn apart and I don't think the US can do anything to stop it at this point. Time we tell if I am right or wrong. JMO!

dontlop
I for one believe him Those story's made no sense at all There is no way such a smal group of people take over cities like that in a matter of hours The United States and britan could not do that with 10 times the forces and fire power Oh they control mosol Oh they control tikrit Saddams home town of tikrit is part of the Sunni triangle I'm sure the lies were abundant If any of you think what we been reading was all lies by Maliki I think you don't know what the word propaganda means And why propaganda is a powerful tool for these initial operations You read all the bad things about a guy during election cycles and say that's the way it is And everything written is the truth The USA would not be backing Maliki if these things were true Maliki should punish those who made up things to terrorize Iraqis 2000 terrorists do not control anything We will see who's all going to jail next week when their immunity is up They all know their time is up and are going to be arrested next week They got nothing to lose They have stolen billions of dollars and bought and paid for many in the media People are robbed shot killed best up every day in the USA I guess it's the presidents fault that some humans are thieves liars and killers And we all know our media doesn't lie during election cycles and all the time for that matter They just add a discloser so they can't be prosecuted
Nelg
The ISIS Army is made up of Sunni fighters and led and controlled by a Sunni cleric by the name of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. They have been fighting in Syria against President Bashar al-Assad as well as other militant Islamic groups in Syria for control of parts of Syria while also fighting the Iraqi government in its quest to form the unified ISIS state. They are well trained, aggressive, and filled with religious fervor and not a bunch of rag-tag criminals. They moved quickly and captured the weapons and supplies in Mosul then quickly moved them their base in Syria. They want to control both sides of that border area and now they do. Once they take an area, many of the Sunni residents join them in their fight against the Iraqi forces. The Sunnis in the Iraq army lay down their weapons and turn against the Shiites fighting with them. This is a religious conflict as well as a political war. What ISIS wants, or at least they say they want, is their own Sunni State in Iraq on the Syrian/Iraqi border. Once they started to move into Iraq the government should have moved quickly to eliminate the threat. They didn't and now they will pay the price. Inaction destroys nations and people. uncirculd
First he should hold his private media accountable, what a joke, then it's not false, his private army (the Iraqi army he personalized) did walk off the job. So, too bad so sad. Just like the news his media put out on his 175 seat majority. Just so laughable. Once they started to move into Iraq the government should have moved quickly to eliminate the threat. They didn't and now they will pay the price. Inaction destroys nations and people. Perfect synopsis. That's exactly what is happening. Because it use to be Saddam dictator rule (sunni) then to Maliki dictator rule (shiite) it was just exactly the same. Now it's come to a head. No more dictators. They actually want to live segregated. Not all, but the citizens that are joining have the same ideology as the separatist. If it works to keep the peace, heck I am all for it. Right now it's so over the top and the bloodshed is no different than the 2003 war/cleanup. The only difference is they are in a civil war. If it looks, smells, and talks like a duck, it's a duck.
