Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Mahdi Haji of Kurdistani Democratic Party revealed that President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani will visit Baghdad soon to discuss the political crisis in Iraq.

The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki had visited Erbil, capital of KR, on last Sunday where he met with Barzani and held the federal Cabinet’s session there.

Maliki and Barzani announced post their meeting their agreeing on activating the mutual commissions to settle the pending issues between Baghdad and Erbil.

Haji told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) on Sunday “Barzani will visit Baghdad soon where he will try to bring views closer with Baghdad leaders to pave way for settling all the problems.”

“Barzani will try to persuade the political sides including the Iraqiya Slate to join the common political work,” he added noting “The situation is suitable now for Barzani to play significant role in agreement with Maliki

Khandan - Soran Karim MP for the Kurdistan Alliance Mehdi Haji, for a planned visit by the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani to Baghdad. MP said Mehdi Haji told the "Khandan", that there is a planned visit by the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani to Baghdad for a meeting with political parties in order to find appropriate solutions to the political crisis in Iraq. Though the MP Mehdi Haji did not specify the date of the visit, however, he explained that the information indicates that the visit will be during this month unless no changes on the political scene. On the agenda of the visit of Prime province to Baghdad, said Haji The head of the Kurdistan region to discuss with the various political parties, the current political crisis in order to find the right solution to it, explaining that he expected to be positive results for the visit and contribute to the normalization of relations between the province and the center.

Iraqi Premier, Nuri al-Maliki had visited Erbil, the capital city of Kurdistan, last Sunday where he met with president Barzani and held the federal Cabinet’s session there.

Maliki and Barzani announced post their meeting their agreeing on activating the mutual commissions to settle the pending issues between Baghdad and Erbil.

In the biggest step forward in nearly two years of talks, Baghdad and Erbil agreed last Sunday to have joint committees study and advise on solutions to their serious territorial, energy and budget rows.

The decision to form the seven joint committees, between the central government in Baghdad and the autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), was taken during a visit to Erbil by Iraqi Prime Minster Nuri al-Maliki,www.ekurd.net who has been trying to soften to the Kurds as he faces a Sunni uprising and spiraling sectarian violence.

The committees will work mainly to conclusively revise the federal budget, revise the oil and gas draft law, work toward resolutions over disputed regions listed in constitutional Article 140 and oversee the border crossings and airports in the country.
