Iran preparing now for Armageddon

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has held several secret meetings with his economic and military advisers in recent days to prepare for the possibility of war with the United States.

Sources report the preparations are to include the execution of those Iranians who oppose the regime.

Khamenei has been heard to say that the coming of the last Islamic Messiah, the Shiites’ 12th Imam Mahdi, is near and that specific actions need to be taken to protect the Islamic regime for upcoming events.

Mahdi, according to Shiite belief, will reappear at the time of Armageddon.

Selected forces within the Revolutionary Guards and Basij reportedly have been trained under a task force called “Soldiers of Imam Mahdi” and they will bear the responsibility of security and protecting the regime against uprisings. Many in the Guards and Basij have been told that the 12th Imam is on earth, facilitated the victory of Hezbollah over Israel in the 2006 war and soon will announce publicly his presence after the needed environment is created.

According to SepahOnline, sources within the Vali’eh Amr, the revolutionary forces in charge of the supreme leader’s protection, report that Khamenei held several meetings in recent days at which the leader instructed his advisers to tighten the grip on anyone who opposes or might oppose the regime in case of war.

These actions include investigations of every person or group that was pro-regime but now hold opinions contrary to regime policies. Also being created is a list, to be presented to Khamenei, to decide the fate of any opponents.

It also was decided that those political prisoners who will not repent will be executed, the sources said.

This action also was taken by the founder of the Islamic regime in 1988, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

In the book, “A Time to Betray,” it is documented when Khomeini announced the campaign, he said, “If the person at any stage or at any time maintains his (or her) support for the opposing groups, the sentence is execution. Annihilate the enemies of Islam immediately.”

The fatwa led to the execution of thousands of innocent men and women of all ages in a very short period.

The list of actions by Khamenei includes investigation of private business owners. If records show that at any time in the past they have not supported the Islamic regime, their businesses and belongings could be confiscated.

Journalists, writers and publishers who are deemed to be against the regime would be arrested and punished. Even high religious authorities who do not fully support Khamenei will be put under surveillance and dealt with if they become outspoken about the direction of the country.

Several journalists already have been arrested in the past week. In a recent speech, Khamenei hinted of a warlike environment and warned those clerics who might doubt his direction of the country that their survival is tied to the survival of the Islamic regime. Many Iranians who resent the regime resent the religion it promotes, so even opposition clerics might not fare well should the regime fall.

The plan by the leader calls for total control of Tehran, the capital where the presence of the Basij and Hezbollah militias would be quite visible so that no one would dare to challenge the regime.

This news comes in light of the formation of the “Removal Committee,” which secretly would eliminate all deemed as opponents, even within the military and the government.

Khamenei’s extraordinary measures are based either on an understanding that war could be imminent or that the regime has decided to announce it has nuclear capability and is getting ready for a possible reaction from Israel or America.

Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi, an influential cleric and a radical Twelver, previously had stated that Khamenei ascends to the sky every year to take direction from Imam Mahdi, and sources close to the cleric have disclosed that Khamenei has been ordered by Imam Mahdi to continue with the nuclear program despite worldwide objection as it will facilitate his coming.

Last March, a Iranian secret documentary, “The Coming Is Upon Us,” was revealed to depict Khamenei as the mythical figure who creates the environment for the reappearance of Mahdi by leading Iran to destroy Israel.

Sending in ground troops will not get Obama votes, if anything it would be a vote detractor after two wars. Our military has become more sophisticated than that when it comes to stopping an enemy anyway. That is why the DOD is revamping the defense budget. The fewer people we risk, the better. It seems to me, that drones and Seals have been doing a pretty good job lately, and with this enemy, Iran, we do not want to kill the Iranians, but just knock out the nuclear facilities. If a short Iranian leader with a crappy sense of humor happened to get in the way, oh well. The Iranian people hate this regime, and the ones that I have known, love America. Don't let the ruling maniacs fool you. It is like the financial industry here in the US - a few control it and makes odious amount of money, while the masses hate them and just pay and pay. Iran is very different than Iraq or Afghanistan - much more sophisticated and more in line with Turkey, somewhere I would go to vacation.

Those Seals and Rangers are remarkable - another successful raid last night. Please keep them safe and let them know we appreciate what they do and who they are.

How about those Dodgers?

Warships enter Hormuz without incident

By Tom Gara in Abu Dhabi and Reuters

A group of western warships led by a US aircraft carrier entered the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, a day after Iran backed away from threats to take action if a US carrier returned to the strategic waterway.

The nuclear-powered USS Abraham Lincoln completed a “regular and routine” passage through the strait, a critical gateway for the region’s oil exports, “as previously scheduled and without incident”, said Lieutenant Rebecca Rebarich, a spokeswoman for the US Fifth Fleet.

The Lincoln was part of a six-ship flotilla that included a British frigate and a French warship, and was the first US aircraft carrier to enter the gulf since late December, when the USS John C. Stennis left the region.

The British and French vessels joined the American-led flotilla to “underline the unwavering international commitment to maintaining rights of passage under international law,” a UK ministry of defence spokesman told the UK Press Association.

The departure of the Stennis in December prompted the Iranian army chief Ataollah Salehi to threaten action if the carrier passed back into the Gulf. “I recommend and emphasise to the American carrier not to return to the Persian Gulf,” he said. “We are not in the habit of warning more than once,” he said.

The threat led to a round of escalating rhetoric between the two sides that frightened oil markets and raised the spectre of a military confrontation between Iran and the US.

Iran appeared to ease away from its earlier warnings on Saturday, with the revolutionary guard corps deputy commander Hossein Salami telling the official IRNA news agency that the return of US warships to the Gulf was routine and not an increase in its permanent presence in the region.

“US warships and military forces have been in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East region for many years and their decision in relation to the dispatch of a new warship is not a new issue and it should be interpreted as part of their permanent presence,” Salami said.

The less confrontational tone from Iran came as European Union foreign ministers prepared to meet in Brussels on Monday to discuss a tough new package of sanctions against Iran.

Onlookers expect a ban on imports of Iranian oil will likely be agreed upon but say it remains to be determined when the ban will be implemented.

Pentagon officials declined to comment directly on Salami’s remarks, but reiterated that continued US presence reflected the seriousness with which Washington takes its security commitments to partner nations in the region and to ensuring free flow of international commerce.

Tensions between Iran and the United States have been escalating in recent weeks as the US president, Barack Obama, prepares to implement new sanctions against Iran over its nuclear enrichment programme. Tehran says it is for energy production but the west believes it is aimed at producing atomic weapons.

Mr Obama is also preparing new US sanctions that target foreign financial institutions that do business with Iran’s central bank.

Both sides tried to scale down the rhetoric last week. The White House emphasised the United States was still open to international talks on Iran’s nuclear program, even as it denied Iranian assertions that discussions were under way about resuming a dialogue.

The White House would not confirm or deny Iranian reports that Mr Obama had sent a letter to Iranian leaders. A spokesman, Jay Carney, said any communications with Tehran would have reinforced the statements Washington has made publicly.

The United States supports talks between Iran and the so-called P5 + 1, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – Russia, China, France, the United Kingdom and the United States – plus Germany.

Mr Carney urged Iran to respond to the letter sent in October on behalf of the P5 +1 by the European Union foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton.

“If the Iranians are serious about restarting talks, then they need to respond to that letter,” Mr Carney told a White House briefing. “That is the channel by which ... the restarting of those talks would take place.”

is it me or are things heating up with iran faster than ever now?

I don't think the temperature is rising or that the danger level has increased but, I do believe all players; Iran, US, Israel etc. are reving up the dialogue as this election year progresses. The world is just as much interested in whom the POTUS will be as we are. While they cannot vote, they certainly can influence those who do...

Someone was telling me last year at this time that there will be no elections due to a constitutional crisis of some sort.

Though this particular article does present many truthful concerns , this particular news agency is very independant and this seems more of an opinion. I do feel there is very much reason for concern but I am just taking note of what they have presented here and very much keeping my eye on the situation. I guess we'll see what happens. Thank you for the post.
