Roadie
I gonna have to buy another million just to cover this party. Pretty much all the strip casinos are kid friendly. They even have places to drop off kids - sorta like a supervised playrooms with video games, stuff for kids - so folks can play around for a few hours. Take a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. I always wanted to stay at the Bellagio.

FarmersDaughter
I'm in. Have never had a bad time in Vegas. I am a night owl so I love it because the place never closes down. The only problem I see in coordinating this is that everyone is flying in from so many directions. As Sonny said, the casinos fly people in for free all the time. I am a member of Mike's Travel in NC and they fly us for free to casinos, give us free rooms and comp our food all the time and I am certainly not a high roller. Might be better off to just set a date, get a head count, contact the casino of choice, block out room's and let everyone get there on their own. If you have not used players cards in the past at the casinos so that they can track your play and offer you free trips, free rooms, etc., there are lots of ways to get free rooms. I have intially put up a credit card to pay for my trip and then gone to the VIP office upon check out and have them comp my entire stay. You just have to work the system. You would be amazed at how little you can spend and get free rooms etc. The only money we ever spend is for gambling. I realize we will all have plenty of money but why pay for rooms and food. More money for fun!!!!! By the way, we have stayed at quite a few of the Las Vegas hotels but never stayed at the Wynn. I have been receiving a lot of literature from them and have been wanting to stay there. That would be my first choice but I am game for anywhere. Meanwhile, I am most interested in organizing a party where we can all meet each other. That will be the fun part!!!! Easy.....I have a gorgeous neice who is 26 that I wil be bringing along. You will have to behave though because even though we drink, smoke, cuss and gamble, we are from the Bible Belt. Carrello
Carrello, kids or not I bet you would enjoy Disney... Maybe...we will see. I do enjoy the spinning Tea Cups and the Wind in the Willows Mr. Toad ride. It's a small world after all..... Planning a party and a block of rooms is one thing. Herding cats is another. If some can get a plane, great. Date and rate takes on a new meaning for this venture. Edited December 4, 2011 by Carrello

skitealwedrop
Hey sonny, if you happen to be going through Dallas , would you mind picking my wife and I up. Go RV Pick me up too. I'm in Dallas. Also, we need a VIP flight to Tahoe for those that like to play in the snow.
Carrello
I just mentioned on another thread, the possibility of getting monetary pledges from all of us for Wounded Warriors. We could gather the pledge to donate, hopefully get a big, big amount and have a representative from Wounded Warrior come to the party to accept the pledge of donations to WW. I cannot think of a better charity for us to give to. I would really like to organize this if DV members are ameniable to doing this. Personally, it will be the first check I write. What do you think?
OregonHopeful
Nadita, I knew you had started a thread about this before... did you actually make a list of interested people? That would be helpful. As for the security, you can't beat the security in a casino/hotel. There are guards and security cameras everywhere... that is the safest place for our group to meet at! I would imagine any casino/hotel will give us a floor or two of blocked rooms for free. They would probably provide limos to/from the airport also. The planes would need to be negotiated... a good possibility though I think since there is a bunch of us. They would at least send a few to the bigger cities to pick up groups of us. It will be lots of fun to go to shows, hang out at the pool, go to nice restaurants and get to know you all better. We will have a lot in common, as to adjusting to our new found wealth. It would be helpful in the future to have such a bunch of friends that went through the same thing to get where they are to share good times, ideas, etc. with. As soon as we get this thing done, I think a Vegas party/trip about 30-60 days out would be good. Everyone will be busy the first few weeks taking care of "business". So far, I guess it looks like the Wynn, Aria, or Ceasers Palace for places to stay. If there are enough of us going, we can book whole shows, etc. as a big group. January or February would be a great time to go get warmer and dryer!

Just a tribute to our troops done quietly.
