The media office of the Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (conscious), that "the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, Monday, January 15, 2024 at the Baghdad Palace, the Saudi ambassador to Iraq, Abdulaziz Al -Shammari, and the delegate of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Trade Organization Saqr al-Muqbel, head of the team concerned with Iraq’s accession to the World Trade Organization, and the accompanying delegation.”

I immediately went to WTO.org and couldn’t find any verification of any planned meetings on this subject. Perhaps I overlooked it so if anyone else finds it, please post. Iraq rejoining the WTO would be a huge step. IMO.
