REMEMBER, no one really  knows what will happen, or when.  They're simply stating their opinions based on what they perceive to be happening in Iraq... So, take everything with a grain of salt ...  RON 

 

 

Frank26  [Iraq boots-on-the-ground report] FIREFLY: The television is saying from the advisor to Sudani within 72 hours there will be a change to the dollar exchange rate.  If that's true that means our exchange rate automatically changes too. They're saying the dollar rate will have a mechanism applied through which will control the parallel market rate. They said Sudani and the CBI have many proposals and papers ...to fix the issue. And within 72 hours we will see all this applied to fix the dollar exchange rate. 

 

 

This sounds very positive, but for some reason, I don't think it is what we're hoping for. I feel they will move the rate back to 1170, or possibly to 1000 IQD/USD.  Change some policies so there isn't a secondary market. Let things stabilize, then possibly make their big move. It would be wonderful to go straight to $.10, or  $.25, or $1.00 - but I don't believe that'll happen. Too much telegraphing with some of the comments supposedly coming from Sudani and others. JMHO...! RON

I've been leaning more towards early 2024 which is right around the corner. I don't feel the same about 2023 like others on here. Thanks for your hard work Ron.

I'm not getting my hopes up until I see a rate change on FOREX or UN Official ER site.

 

Could the anticipated ER be just a parallel rate correction of a few basic points or the real McCoy.  We won't know until it happens.

Thanks Brother Ron! 2023 is another dead year. The 1st Qt of 2024 will be our next window of opportunity for the so called RV/RI! If it doesn’t happen in the 1st quarter of 24 put your IQD back on moth Balls! Praying for the RV to happen! It looks more like wheelchair racing in Vegas than a big party! I’m still coming if alive! JMHO!🤠

At this present time, I would be inclined to agree with you @Artitech and @Dretown39. Despite all this positive news I think they will hold off until 2024 at the earliest. I am sure they will through some spanner in the works that none of us have thought of. On the plus side 2024 is not far away. They did say the rate in the budget was set ......
