Transport directs dealings in Iraqi dinars instead of dollars

On Monday, Minister of Transport, Razak Mohebis Al-Saadawi, directed that tickets for travelers be dealt with in dinars instead of dollars.  

  

The Ministry of Transport said in a statement, which “NAS” received a copy of, (February 6, 2023), that “based on the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhibis al-Saadawi, directed all the ministry’s formations, especially the general company of Iraqi Airways, to deal with ticket sales for travelers.” In Iraqi dinars instead of the dollar in support of the national currency.  

  

Al-Saadawi stressed, "Obligating all the ministry's formations, and in particular the general company of Iraqi Airways, to deal in dinars and at the rate of the Central Bank of Iraq."  

  

He warned that "violators of directives and reform measures to address the dollar crisis will expose themselves to legal accountability," calling on citizens to "report any violation in this regard."

{Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Transport directed today, Monday, to deal with passengers' tickets in Iraqi dinars instead of dollars.

And the ministry stated in a statement received by {Euphrates News}, "Based on the directives of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhibis Al-Saadawi, directed all the ministry's formations, especially the general company of Iraqi Airways, to deal with ticketing for travelers in Iraqi dinars instead of dollars in support of the national currency."

And the minister stressed, "The obligation of all the ministry's formations, and in particular the general company of Iraqi Airways, to deal in dinars and at the rate of the Central Bank of Iraq."

And the Minister of Transport warned that "violators of directives and reform measures related to dealing with the dollar crisis will expose themselves to legal accountability," calling on citizens to report any violation in this regard.

There was an article a week or so ago with this info. Its good news but not breaking news, just saying. Its clear theyre gearing up to use their own currency, just need uncle sam now to let them.

The Director General of the General Company of Iraqi Airways, Karim Kazem Hussein, issued a directive on Friday to sell tickets in Iraqi dinars instead of dollars.

A statement carried by the media office of the Ministry of Transport, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said: “The general manager of the company issued a binding directive to all offices and ticketing centers of the company, stipulating dealing in Iraqi dinars instead of the US dollar, and at the official rate set by the administration of the Central Bank of Iraq.”

Hussein called on "all travelers to report through the hotline of the Ministry of Transport (5606), as well as through the official websites and platforms of the ministry and the company, any violation committed by the company's offices and agents in this regard," warning "violators of legal accountability."

Hussein stressed, "The company's decision comes based on the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhibis Al-Saadawi, to oblige all the ministry's formations, including the Iraqi Airways General Company, to deal in Iraqi dinars instead of dollars, in support of the national currency."

The only solution is just make the dinar higher than the dollar and after that , the iraqi citizens will definitely use dinar and dump the dollar for sure.

I'm thinking they would like nothing better than to do that. The problem is the US government is trying to put together ways to steal from the honest citizens.

On Friday, the government spokesman, Basem Al-Awadi, announced the adoption of the official exchange rate of 1,320 dinars at all airline outlets, starting today.  

  

  

  

Al-Awadi stated in a statement followed by “NAS” (February 17, 2023), that “in compliance with the pledge made by the government to the public opinion to follow up on the implementation of its decisions, and in implementation of the Prime Minister’s directives in the seventh session, to follow up on all Iraqi institutions concerned with implementing the new exchange rate.” and assisting it in facilitating any impediment that prevents the implementation of the decision.  

  

He added, "Direct and serious work has been done to solve the problem of the exchange rate in Iraqi Airways tickets, and starting today, the official exchange rate of 1,320 dinars has been adopted at all Iraqi Airways outlets."  

  

Earlier, the Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Airways, Karim Kazem Hussein, directed the sale of tickets in Iraqi dinars instead of dollars.
