Lindsey Graham is a US Senator that happens to be on the appropriation committee, budget committee, the judiciary committee to name a few. These committees deal with where the USA spends and sends its money. The party affiliation is irrelevant if your on one of these committees. Lindsey Graham has worked and been close to several presidents. I would guess he wanted to assure the Iraqis that America would continue to stand by them unlike the circus America did in Afghanistan… 1

The American government holds a ton of Iraqi Dinar, when the price of oil is high, they'll RV the Dinar, get the world to pay for the Iraq War, while the American elite get rich!....muh hahahahaha". 🤡 2 3 2

yota691
An American move to implement the "oligarchy regime" in Iraq "We need to implement the same system to track corruption in the region." Kurdistan24 Erbil 19 hours Prominent US Senator Lindsey Graham Erbil (Kurdistan 24) - The prominent US Senator Lindsey Graham expressed his deep concern about corruption in Iraq despite the passage of nearly 19 years since the fall of the former regime, and at the same time indicated that he will work with his colleagues to establish a system that tracks corruption in Iraq. Iraq, which has one of the largest oil reserves in the world, ranks 169 out of 180 in the Corruption Index issued by Transparency International. Despite the widespread protests organized by Iraqis in different cities over the past years, corruption continues to swallow the resources of the Iraqi government. "My biggest concern is corruption," Graham said in an interview with Iraq's Al-Sharqiya TV, noting that "the level of corruption in the entire region is unacceptable." "We will not allow this to happen here (in Iraq)," he added. The US senator was speaking during a recent visit to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, during which he met with senior officials in Erbil and Baghdad. The spread of corruption in the Iraqi state institutions and mismanagement is the most prominent challenge facing Iraqis since the fall of the previous regime at the hands of US forces. Graham said he would return to Washington to work with his colleagues "to create a system that tracks corruption in Iraq (similar to what Washington adopts toward) the Russian oligarchs." The oligarchs are the businessmen of the former Soviet republics who made huge fortunes during the era of Russian privatization following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in the 1990s. As the Russian attack on Ukraine unfolded, the West tightened sanctions on Russian banks and many individuals, often described by Western media as "Putin's friends." "We need to implement the same system to track corruption in the region," Graham added. "The days when they steal people's food must end," he added. The US ambassador had attached Graham's interview to his Twitter account, and said that his visit to Baghdad and Erbil came to confirm the "US commitment to Iraq."
