They ( China) have many hundred of millions of workers available (Pop. 1.386 billion in 2017)

...Same as in India  (Pop. 1.339 billion in 2017) which is a capitalist country...Deemed infact as the biggest  ( in terms of Pop. involved) democracy on the planet

Under-payment ( as a general rule) is what makes firms and corporations  so strong and powerful  and ashamingly rich all over the world....Be it in a capitalistic nation or a socialist one ( the state in this latter case  and / or a mix of public & private)......

Strong unions are / should be  supposed to make the difference on that one......

This is disingenuous at best. Of course China exploits its workers, and it does so because the workers allow it to be.

The population in China was reported to be 1.386 BILLION in 2017. Though I don't trust the world census numbers and think

they are much higher than were being told. But lets use their numbers for this conversation.

The size of China's Army is estimated at 2,183,000 personnel. I submit to you that if the populous  of China rose up in unison

against it's Communistic Government that the Army simply doesn't have the ability to stop them. If only ten percent of that population

rose up they could change everything. So for whatever reason the people of China are content to live the life they life.

That's on them.

But it is a very well known FACT that China became the second largest economy of the world off the backs of Americans.

They not only used our tech they bought our debt and we made them the second largest nation on earth by paying enormous

interest payments to them. America has lifted every single nation on earth to one degree or another. We've even lifted Italy.

Were it not for our soldiers in WW2 Italy would not be what it is today. Were it not for the Marshal Plan Italy would not be what

it is today.

As to the wages a person is paid, that is not a Corporations fault. A Corporation will pay whatever a person will accept for a job.

I make about 25% more than the average trucker because I work for a Corporation that understands the manner in which to

get and keep good drivers. I WOULD NEVER WORK FOR LESS EVER AGAIN.

So if you and your fellow workers want to make a better wage don't go to your government and get them to enforce it. By doing that

you have only given your government more control over you.

You join with all workers by going on strike and force the Company to pay a better wage. If that means you have to shut the company

down by not allowing scabs to cross your line, you do that by whatever means you can. It won't take long before the Company

understands that paying you more and passing that along to the buyers of their product is well worth not having to fight against

it's employees. Such is life.

Try that in  a Socialist nation and you won't like the results.

REP. OCASIO-CORTEZ INSTRUCTS AMERICANS TO EAT FEWER HAMBURGERS

1:23 PM 02/22/2019 | POLITICS

David Krayden | Ottawa Bureau Chief

Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez remains unfazed by criticism of her policy ideas.

The freshman rep. continued to defend her Green New Deal, which plans to rid America of greenhouse gasses in a decade, on Showtime’s late-night “Desus & Mero” show Thursday.

She brought up the issue of factory farms by addressing America’s supposed mass-consumption of hamburgers.

“In the deal, what we talk about — and it’s true — is that we need to take a look at factory farming, you know? Period. It’s wild,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “And so it’s not to say you get rid of agriculture. It’s not to say we’re gonna force everybody to go vegan or anything crazy like that. But it’s to say, ‘Listen, we gotta address factory farming. Maybe we shouldn’t be eating a hamburger for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Like, let’s keep it real.”

Ocasio-Cortez made it clear she wasn’t just targeting Big Macs.

“But we have to take a look at everything,” Ocasio-Cortez continued, “and what we need to realize about climate change is about every choice that we make in our lives, you know?”

Ocasio-Cortez’s plan is targeted at cows and airplanes.

“We set a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero emissions, in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast,” the FAQ page for her Green New Deal originally said before the page was removed.

Ocasio-Cortez also reiterated her call to soak America’s rich with a 70 percent income tax rate.

“It really comes down to the question of, ‘Isn’t $10 million enough?’ Like, when does it stop?” she asked. “At what point is it amoral that we’re building Jeff Bezos a helipad when we have the most amount of homeless people in New York City?”

AOC to critics of Green New Deal: 'I'm the boss' until you try

 | February 24, 2019

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., dismissed detractors of her Green New Deal on Friday, saying to any critic who has yet to offer their own bold environmental ideas: "Until you do it, I'm the boss."

The freshman congresswoman made the comment at a “Girls Who Code” event in the Queens borough of New York City.

"Like I just introduced the Green New Deal two weeks ago, and it's creating all of this conversation. Why? Because no one else has even tried. Because no one else has even tried," she told moderator Reshma Saujani, founder and CEO of Girl Who Code.

"So people are like, 'Oh it's unrealistic. Oh it's vague. Oh it doesn't address this little minute thing,'" she added. "And I'm like, 'You try. You do it. Cuz you're not. Cuz you're not. So, until you do it, I'm the boss.' How about that?'"

The comments were met with laughter and cheers.

The resolution was authored by Ocasio-Cortez and longtime climate advocate Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass. It is nonbinding but calls for Congress to take the lead in ridding the nation of fossil fuels in the next few decades, among other dramatic environmental and economic changes.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is fast-tracking the resolution through the Senate, enabling a vote as early as next week, in an effort to force Democrats and several of their presidential candidates to go on record as soon as next week on a plan that has attracted ridicule and split the party.

Fox News Host Slams Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez For Raising Her Office's Starting Salary

 Ed Mazza 3 hours ago

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s decision to raise the minimum salary in her Congressional office led to some jeers over on Fox News.

“Fox & Friends” weekend co-host Pete Hegseth slammed the move, calling it “socialism and communism on display” and mockingly urged her to give some of her own salary to her staff.

Lawmakers each have a budget for operating and staffing their respective offices and can set salaries accordingly. Last week, the Democrat from New York said jobs in her office would start at $52,000/year.

It’s likely one of the highest entry-level salaries on the Hill,” she wrote on Twitter on Friday. “We pinch pennies elsewhere, but it’s worth every dime to pay a living wage.”

Wages at the higher end are lower, maxing out at $80,000 in her office, Roll Call reported, well below the $154,634 that is the median pay for a chief of staff on the Hill.

“Fox & Friends” blasted her for it.

“She is going to redistribute the money appropriated to her congressional office to make sure that the entry-level staffers get a fair share of money,” co-host Griff Jenkins said. “Here’s the problem: You’ve got to find a way to get money to pay the entry-level people so she plans to take that from the chief of staff.”

Hegseth chimed in:

“Your entry level intern is making 52 grand, while your chief of staff ― who has a very important role in a congressional office ― now is capped at 80, as opposed to the actual market rate on Capitol Hill which is closer to $150,000. So everyones’s between 52 and 80. It’s actually socialism and communism on display.”

In a longer clip posted on Mediaite, Hegseth took Ocasio-Cortez to task over her $174,000 congressional salary.

She should probably redistribute some of that,” he said. “Will you share some of that money, Miss Congresswoman, with the rest of your staff who is not making as much as you?”

The “Fox & Friends” team also seemed to have a problem with the fact that Ocasio-Cortez’s office, like all offices of lawmakers, was funded by the government.

“It’s not like she earned the money,” Jenkins said. “She’s just redistributing it.”

Hello LGD......Your remark is noted and respected...

Still.....Most Countries do ( exploit workers ...that dates way back to the industrial revolution in England some 200 years or so ago)... Not only China

I'd say Capitalist Countries esp......Through  ( by now institutionalized and somehow accepted by all parts involved...as there is a sort of resignation ) under-payment

I'm of course talking about being under-paid proportionely to the cost of living in a specific Country...Obviously

So that uderpayment will be  much different in China, in Italy, in Brazil, in the US....Also depending on the type of work.......But in general that's the reality

Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has it all wrong in her claim that she’s the “boss,” according to one of the youngest names in the conservative movement, CJ Pearson.

While Pearson is only in high school, he is taking on the congresswoman and letting her know something

“she should have learned in her high school government class.”

“You are no one’s boss,”

Pearson said in a video uploaded to Twitter.

“America is a government for the people and by the people,” the conservative continued.

“So if anyone is the boss, it is we the people.”

“We are the reason you get paid every month through our taxes,” he told the Democrat congresswoman. “We’re the reason you even have a title of ‘congresswoman,’ congresswoman.”

During an interview at the New York Hall of Science with Girls Who Code Founder and CEO Reshma Saujani, Ocasio-Cortez said she was the new leader of Congress until others step up and present solutions to today’s problems.

The congresswoman, who first joined Congress during the November election last year says she’s “the boss” of her congressional colleagues until they start leading on legislative efforts.

“Like I just introduced the Green New Deal two weeks ago, and it’s creating all of this conversation. Why? Because no one else has even tried. Because no one else has even tried,” Ocasio-Cortez said, via the Washington Examiner.

“So people are like, ‘Oh, it’s unrealistic. Oh, it’s vague. Oh, it doesn’t address this little minute thing,'” the congresswoman continued. “And I’m like, ‘You try. You do it. Cuz you’re not. Cuz you’re not. So, until you do it, I’m the boss.’ How about that?'”

Pearson added:

“And to listen to you, drunk on power, as you sat on that stage,

was nothing more than a front to the office that you hold

and a front to the role of public servant that you have in our society.”

“Now I understand if you slept through that class

as you evidently slept through your economics class at Boston University,

but it is something you need to know because it is something quite obviously that you are unfamiliar with.”

“No one works for you in the country, congresswoman,” the young conservative continued.

“No citizen, no voter, none of us work for you. You are no one’s boss. Okay?”

“Instead of getting mad at people for trashing your bad ideas, here’s an idea: come up with better ones.”

“God bless you congresswoman, have a great day,” he said, concluding the video.
