"MOST COUNTRIES DO (exploit workers)......" , " I 'd say Capitalist Countries esp"  I disagree! I'd say Communist & Socialist are more prone to take advantage of the gullible.....Italy is prime example - JMO

True...In many ways...But what do you mean exactly?

We do have a Gov't which is taking advantage right now.....Very true...But probably you did mean something else, I'd guess......

I didn't say only Capitalist Countries if you re-read well my post

Under-payment ( as a general rule) is what makes firms and corporations  so strong and powerful  and ashamingly rich all over the world....Be it in a capitalistic nation or a socialist one ( the state in this latter case  and / or a mix of public & private)......

Strong unions are / should be  supposed to make the difference on that one......

What pigeons have to do with it?...Is that a sort of saying , a joke ?

This is disingenuous at best. Of course China exploits its workers, and it does so because the workers allow it to be.

Hello LGD......Your remark is noted and respected...

Still.....Most Countries do ( exploit workers ...that dates way back to the industrial revolution in England some 200 years or so ago)... Not only China

I'd say Capitalist Countries esp......Through  ( by now institutionalized and somehow accepted by all parts involved...as there is a sort of resignation ) under-payment

I'm of course talking about being under-paid proportionely to the cost of living in a specific Country...Obviously

So that uderpayment will be  much different in China, in Italy, in Brazil, in the US....Also depending on the type of work.......But in general that's the reality

and here is the one I quoted you from

There you go Umb. It is a term to describe putting something away. I think Caz is refering to #3 if I am not mistaken.

pigeonhole

 noun
pi·geon·hole | \ ˈpi-jən-ˌhōl  \

Definition of pigeonhole

 (Entry 1 of 2)

1: a hole or small recess for pigeons to nest
2: a small open compartment (as in a desk or cabinet) for keeping letters or documents
3: a neat category which usually fails to reflect actual complexities

AOC, Do as I say

Not as I do

Because

:lmao:"I'M THE BOSS":lmao:

Ocasio-Cortez lashes out after pics surface of hamburger dinner, slams ‘stalkerish’ restaurant photog

Less than a week after raging against cow farts and urging Americans to stop eating so many hamburgers, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was caught oozing with hypocrisy.

On Tuesday night, an image scorched across Twitter showing Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, sitting down for dinner together.

While sitting no more than a foot away, Ocasio-Cortez watched as Chakrabarti ordered a hamburger and chowed it down right in front of her.

Conservative Caleb Hull also shared a close-up image showing that her chief of staff was definitely eating the one specific food that she wants Americans to stop eating.

Soon after the images caught fire on Twitter, Ocasio-Cortez went to her go-to play: she played the victim and attacked the person who took the original photo as being a creep.

“Tonight a dude was creepily (and obviously) taking a picture of me while pretending he wasn’t and I had to break his imaginary fourth wall and say ‘Hi! I’m a person! This is weird!'” she wrote.

In a second tweet, the New York socialist responded to a post from One America News host Jack Posobiec, who shared a gif poking fun at the idea of literally catching Ocasio-Cortez being a total hypocrite.

She then accused the person, who took the photo in a public setting with several other people around, of being a stalker.

I don't always agree with what you post.

I also feel that you are a product of your upbringing and I am of mine.

I think we are about the same age ( I will be 63 in August) and I believe we fall under the category of "Old Farts".

Sorry for replying that late, nstoolman.....Thanks for your post ( honest  as usual, which I do appreciate)

Yes and yes......On our respective upbringing (with some variables in my case in that my parents were  a lot less left-oriented than myself...I think my beloved Mother was slightly right-wing even...while my Dad was very moderately leaning toward left)...

So...The ones  "to blame" in my life in regard to that being ( I'd guess) reading a lot of books & papers, my ( once at least...not now) several trips abroad ( I'm grateful I had the chance...Biggest mind opener ever....Travelling) and also being around a few friends I had a huge esteem for

As for age ...We're almost similar...I will turn 62 on April 29 (Iron class 1957)....And they ( the years) do weigh ( in terms of health, being tired in general about a lot of things, growing less and less enthusiastic about a lot of stuff....Don't like feeling that way...I used to be totally different until a couple of years ago...Probably just the fear of gettin' old...I am told it's quite normal and usual....I hope I'm able to get past that feeling....)

"Old fart" is an appropriate way to put it, I guess.....LOL

The Mouth That Won’t Stop Chattering… Democrat Socialist Ocasio-Cortez Accuses ICE of Rape

Jim Hoft by Jim Hoft March 2, 2019
                                                                                police-ice.png

Democrat mouthpiece Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez must feel a little feisty this morning.

The Socialist Democrat accused ICE of injecting children with unknown substances and rape.

And she’s still blaming ICE for children dying in custody after the kids were dragged through a blistering desert by the parents before the entered the US.

Ocasio-Cortez And The Nazi Connection

The Democrats’ latest heroine might not be quite the early Christmas present they had hoped for as scandal after scandal engulfs the newly elected Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC). People are often judged according to those with whom they associate, and in the case of AOC’s Chief of Staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, the congresswoman-elect may well find herself destined for trouble.

Ask yourself a question: If President Donald Trump hired a person who openly shows support for a Nazi collaborator, how long would that staff member last? And perhaps more importantly, how tarnished would the president’s brand be?

This is the situation AOC may now find herself in. Haven’t read about it in the newspapers? Haven’t seen it on CNN? Let me enlighten you.

Close Allies?

Saikat Chakrabarti is a highly motivated, smart guy. A Harvard grad, he founded a web tools company, Mockingbird. He is a founder of Justice Democrats, the PAC set up with The Young Turks’ Cenk Uygur, was instrumental in getting AOC elected, and is presently going through congressional training to learn how to become an effective chief of staff for the Dems’ golden girl.

Based on a recent clothing choice, Chakrabarti might justifiably be considered a Nazi sympathizer. But really? Well, yes. In his latest love-fest video for AOC, Chakrabarti is sporting a tee-shirt that features a portrait of Subhas Chandra Bose. Not familiar with this former Indian head of state? Here a few facts:

  • Bose was an ally of Adolf Hitler and met with him personally in 1942.
  • Bose founded the Free India Legion (FIL) made up of troops captured by Nazi Field Marshal Rommel’s Afrika Korps.
  • The FIL swore an oath to Hitler and was under SS command.
  • Bose teamed up with the Japanese in 1943.
  • Bose was an admirer of the USSR and sought to implement its authoritarian practices in India.

You get the picture.

There’s More

What to make of those people who wear of Che Guevara tee-shirts at LGBTQ rallies? The Argentine revolutionary once described homosexuals thusly: “A deviation of that nature clashes with the concept we have of what a militant communist should be.” Not to mention the fact that he set up Cuba’s first concentration camp, or that he thought of black folk as “those magnificent examples of the African race who have maintained their racial purity thanks to their lack of an affinity with bathing.”

aoc-2-300x264.jpg

Saikat Chakrabarti

Or the folks who espouse communist ideals while wearing Hammer and Sickle flags and talking about the greatness of Stalin’s Russia? Who calls them out on the fact that the Stalinist regime was directly responsible for torture, authoritarianism, and mass murder on a scale never before seen in human history?

Nonetheless, it would be wrong to accuse Chakrabarti of glorifying a fascist and a Nazi collaborator. And by the same token, it would be wrong to accuse AOC of keeping company with those who support Nazi collaborators.

Why?

Simply put, it is not for grown-ups to hound, humiliate, denigrate, and ruin the lives of those who make simple mistakes. It has, unfortunately, become almost par for the course to try and have people removed from their positions for either expressing an opinion, receiving the endorsement of an unsavory type, or even having one’s picture taken with the wrong person. And this is by far one of the most detrimental aspects of modern politics.

Live By The Sword

In such a charged and toxic political climate, it is almost impossible for an elected politician or celebrity (not that anyone really cares about celebrities) to not slip up in any way, shape or form. When they do, the left stands poised – ready to pounce.

Those on the right often ignore these types of errors – and this is a good thing. If both sides of the political divide were to descend into the helpless morass of name-calling and social media shaming, there would be not a soul left to govern the nation. For all its ills, America needs a steady hand at the helm, if only to ensure the lunatics aren’t the ones steering the ship.

Time to come full-circle. Remember the reference I made earlier to President Trump? How many of his political opponents could resist taking a shot at the head honcho if such a revelation landed in their laps? Sadly, the answer is too few. Shortly, there will be a new influx of congressmen and women to take the stage and carry the torch of liberty onwards. Will they perform any better, or will they disappoint as much as their predecessors?

Without giving too much credit to House and Senate Republicans, they have at least stayed clear of these levels of vitriol and faux outrage. With so many easy targets around, it is either sensible conduct or historical ignorance that has kept them from lashing out.
