The Green New Deal legislation laid out by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Ed Markey sets goals for some drastic measures to cut carbon emissions across the economy. In the process, it aims to create jobs and boost the economy.

Whether it's a deadly cold snap or a hole under an Antarctic glacier or a terrifying new report, there seem to be constant reminders now of the dangers that climate change poses to humanity.

Ocasio-Cortez Talks About Ambitious Plan To Combat Climate Change

  • Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., think they have a start to a solution. Thursday they are introducing a framework defining what they call a "Green New Deal" — what they foresee as a massive policy package that would remake the U.S. economy and, they hope, eliminate all U.S. carbon emissions.

That's a really big — potentially impossibly big — undertaking.

"Even the solutions that we have considered big and bold are nowhere near the scale of the actual problem that climate change presents to us," Ocasio-Cortez told NPR's Steve Inskeep in an interview that aired Thursday on Morning Edition.

She added: "It could be part of a larger solution, but no one has actually scoped out what that larger solution would entail. And so that's really what we're trying to accomplish with the Green New Deal."

What is the Green New Deal?

In very broad strokes, the Green New Deal legislation laid out by Ocasio-Cortez and Markey sets goals for some drastic measures to cut carbon emissions across the economy, from electricity generation to transportation to agriculture. In the process, it aims to create jobs and boost the economy.

In that vein, the proposal stresses that it aims to meet its ambitious goals while paying special attention to groups like the poor, disabled and minority communities that might be disproportionately affected by massive economic transitions like those the Green New Deal calls for.

Importantly, it's a nonbinding resolution, meaning that even if it were to pass (more on the challenges to that below), it wouldn't itself create any new programs. Instead, it would potentially affirm the sense of the House that these things should be done in the coming years.

Lawmakers pass nonbinding resolutions for things as simple as congratulating Super Bowl winners, as well as to send political messages — for example, telling the president they disapprove of his trade policies, as the Senate did in summer 2018.

What are the specifics of that framework?

The bill calls for a "10-year national mobilizations" toward accomplishing a series of goals that the resolution lays out.

(Note: Ocasio-Cortez's office released an updated version of the bill on Thursday. The earlier version, which we had included in a prior version of this story, is still available here.)

Among the most prominent, the deal calls for

"meeting 100 percent of the power demand in the United States through clean, renewable, and zero-emission energy sources."

The ultimate goal is to stop using fossil fuels entirely, Ocasio-Cortez's office told NPR, as well as to transition away from nuclear energy.

Santa's note;

Mrs. Cortez specifically stated that this would mean the elemination

of all air travel.

In addition, the framework, as described in the legislation as well as a blog post — containing an updated version of "FAQs" provided to NPR by Ocasio-Cortez's office — calls for a variety of other lofty goals:

  • "upgrading all existing buildings" in the country for energy efficiency;
  • working with farmers "to eliminate pollution and greenhouse gas emissions ... as much as is technologically feasible"
  • Santa's note;
  • Mrs Cortez believes the best way to proceed here is by
  • eliminating cow farts.
  • (while supporting family farms and promoting "universal access to healthy food");
  • "Overhauling transportation systems" to reduce emissions — including expanding electric car manufacturing, building "charging stations everywhere," and expanding high-speed rail to
  • "a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary";
  • A guaranteed job "with a family-sustaining wage, adequate family and medical leave, paid vacations and retirement security" for every American;
  • "High-quality health care" for all Americans.

Which is to say: the Green New Deal framework combines big climate-change-related ideas with a wish list of progressive economic proposals that, taken together, would touch nearly every American and overhaul the economy.

Are those ideas doable?

Many in the climate science community, as well as Green New Deal proponents, agree that saving the world from disastrous effects of climate change requires aggressive action.

And some of the Green New Deal's goals are indeed aggressive. For example, Ocasio-Cortez told NPR that "in 10 years, we're trying to go carbon-neutral."

According to Jesse Jenkins, a postdoctoral environmental fellow at Harvard's Kennedy School, that may be an unreachable goal.

"Where we need to be targeting really is a net-zero carbon economy by about 2050, which itself is an enormous challenge and will require reductions in carbon emissions much faster than have been achieved historically," he said. "2030 might be a little bit early to be targeting."

Similarly, removing combustible engines from the roads or expanding high-speed rail to largely eliminate air travel would require nothing short of revolutionizing transportation.

Likewise, some of the more progressive economic policies — universal health care and a job guarantee, for example — while popular among some Democrats, would also be very difficult to implement and transition into.

On top of all that, implementing all of these policies could cost trillions upon trillions of dollars.

Altogether, the Green New Deal is a loose framework. It does not lay out guidance on how to implement these policies.

Rather, the idea is that Ocasio-Cortez and Markey will "begin work immediately on Green New Deal bills to put the nuts and bolts on the plan described in this resolution."

And again, all of this is hypothetical — it would be tough to implement and potentially extremely expensive ... if it passed.

What I want everyone to understand is that

EVERYTHING THE

DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST

EVERYTHING THEY DO

IS TO DESTROY AMERICA!

As long as America is a free and powerful nation

they can never create their

ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT

As long as America exist in it's current position their one world government will never be implemented.

These people are the greatest threat to our Nation and our Freedom

Dickinson Student Newspaper: ‘The Idea of the White Man Has Become Obsolete’

White students raise the black power fist

Dickinson College in Pennsylvania published an op-ed in its student newspaper claiming that the world needs to be saved from “the white man,” arguing that white men have “become obsolete” and “have yet to demonstrate any collective competence in treating people as human beings.”

An op-ed entitled, “How Do We Save the World From the White Man?” was published Thursday in the student newspaper for Dickinson College, The Dickinsonian. In the piece, the author argues that “the idea of the white man” should be dismantled “wherever it tries to manifest itself.”

Student Kevin Ssonko wrote his anti-white piece in response to the backlash that had been received in response to another op-ed published in the school’s student newspaper last week, entitled, “Should White Boys Still Be Allowed to Talk?”

In the first anti-white piece, the author had argued that white males are not qualified to share their opinions due to the color of their skin, and therefore, should be silenced.

Ssonko chose to double down on the claims made in the initial op-ed, stating that white men “have yet to demonstrate any collective competence in treating people as human beings,” and that they should listen when told to “take a step back and shut their mouths for once in history.”

The student also claims that the backlash garnered in response to the first piece had been similar to the backlash received in response to “the history of liberation in the United States.”

“If there is one thing an individual can learn from the history of this nation, it’s that on the question of the liberation of human beings, white people, and white men more specifically, will not respond rationally,” argues Ssonko.

“White men have chosen to respond to calls for equal justice as being an existential threat to their existence,” continues the student.

“As a result of this, the conversation continues to be stifled as oppressed people are forced to continue to make the same arguments for their humanity as white men continue to refuse to understand.”

Ssonko added that while Malcolm X never lived to see “the absurdity of the neo-fascist government that we have in our current administration,” his “diagnosis” of the “racial climate” in the United States still “reads just as true now as it did then.”

Santa's note;

Says the child spewing Racism

“So the question then must be asked,” affirms Ssonko, “how do we save the world from the white man?”

The student claims that the world can be saved from “the white man” when society understands that “the idea of the white man has become obsolete,” and that it should be challenged and dismantled “wherever it tries to manifest itself.”

Dickinson College is not the only student newspaper to have published anti-white pieces recently.

An op-ed was published in Yale University’s student newspaper last week, suggesting that students collect and save evidence on white male classmates, so that it can be used to ruin political careers in the future.

People know the strength of my faith,

What you may not fully know is that because of my faith I believe

there are Demons that roam among us. Most only attach themselves to us and

manipulate us from that position.

But a few actually have the ability to enter into a human body and posses that person.

I believe this because everyone is an individual and no one is the same.

When you see someone acting like someone from history, especially if that person from history

was known to be evil, that person is most likely possessed with the same demon.

I give this comparison,

NOTE THE BODY LANGUAGE.

Hitler introducing a new law

AOC introducing a new Resolution

New-York-Democratic-Rep.-Alexandria-Ocas

WOW: Ocasio-Cortez Unveils 50-State Initiative, And People Are Losing It

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s socialist Green New Deal is so bad that she’s going on a 15-day speaking tour to sell the country on it.

The 29-year-old lawmaker took to Twitter on Thursday and announced that she is joining the Sunrise Movement, a hardcore progressive group, to launch a nationwide speaking tour.

Ocasio-Cortez and the group will be embarking on a 50-state campaign speaking tour to promote her Green New Deal proposal.

“Let’s go: ‘We’re starting a 15-city tour + a 50-State campaign, starting in early primary states, to build political and public support for a Green New Deal.’ – @sunrisemvmt #ThisIsWhatDemocracyLooksLike,” she wrote in response to a video clip describing the speaking tour.

Ironically enough, Ocasio-Cortez explicitly calls for air travel to be banned in 10 years. So how is she going to get to Hawaii? How will they get to all 50 states?

As of Friday morning, Ocasio-Cortez’s tweet had racked up over 11,000 comments, which included many people mocking and laughing at her.

The main question many asked was how the Democratic socialist from New York planned to pull it off.

Here are just a few of the savage responses to her announcement:

View image on Twitter

In addition to Ocasio-Cortez being brutally mocked for her speaking tour, Americans are not going to be too pleased when they learn just how much this socialist measure will cost them.

A new study reveals the price tag for Green New Deal comes out to $7 trillion.

In order to pay for it, taxes would have to be raised substantially across the board, and that still won’t come close to footing the bill.

The government would also have to slash funding from other agencies to help pay for it.

A recent study from PJ Media found that the estimated $7 trillion projected cost is painfully low, and that it could actually cost nearly $50 trillion, which would be roughly seven — SEVEN — times more than that.

According to an eye-popping PJ Media analysis based on a new report from Power the Future, the “Green New Deal” proposed by democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) would cost more than 8,000 times as much as President Donald Trump’s border wall.

The “Green New Deal” will cost approximately $49.109 trillion in the first ten years, enough to fund Trump’s border wall 8,616 times over. The president is requesting $5.7 billion for the wall.

Ocasio-Cortez has also called for a smart power grid to replace the U.S. power grid, an estimated cost of $338 billion on the low end ($476 billion on the high end), according to the Electric Power Research Institute. This kind of transition may be a good idea in general, but it drives up the cost of the “Green New Deal.”

TRUMP SHREDS GREEN NEW DEAL, SAYS IT READS LIKE FAILED ‘HIGH SCHOOL PAPER’

David Krayden | Ottawa Bureau Chief

One-liners were flying fast and furious Monday night as President Donald Trump railed against Democratic opponents and the controversial Green New Deal.

At a super-charged rally in El Paso, Texas, Trump called the Green New Deal — environmental brainchild of New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — braindead, saying it “sounds like a high school term paper that got a low mark,” CNN reported Tuesday.

Trump criticized the deal for well over an hour as he whipped the crowd into a campaign-like fervor, referencing the growing socialistic tenancies of the Democratic Party, especially in the Green New Deal, which he said would cost over $100 trillion and force American companies out of the country on a path to China.

“But I really don’t like their policies of taking away your car, taking away your airplane flights, of ‘Let’s hop a train to California,’ or ‘You’re not allowed to own cows anymore!'” Trump joked, in reference to Ocasio-Cortez’s much-ridiculed line about “farting cows” that produce too many greenhouse gasses.

The first draft of the deal’s details contained numerous gaffes, forcing the congresswoman’s staff to remove it from their website from an overhaul.

Trump apparently got Ocasio-Cortez’s goat, as she tweeted late Monday night:

Trump also took time to acknowledge another rally in El Paso, where Texas Democratic Rep. Beto O’Rourke was addressing the party faithful. Trump dismissed the potential presidential candidate who lost a Senate bid to Republican Sen. Ted Cruz as “a young man who has got very little going for himself except he’s got a great first name.”

MARK STEYN RIDICULES ‘TOTALITARIAN’ GREEN NEW DEAL WITH TUCKER CARLSON

David Krayden | Ottawa Bureau Chief

Best-selling conservative author and humorist Mark Steyn says Democrats’ Green New Deal is nothing less than a
“totalitarian” attempt to “cease the movement of people”
during an appearance on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Thursday.

Steyn and Tucker discussed the environmental initiative spearheaded by New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, which aims to make America free of fossil fuels and greenhouse gasses within the next decade. It also aims to “repair historic oppression” at the same time. Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Ed Markey is co-sponsoring the bill.

Since releasing some of the details Thursday, the plan has been subject to ridicule and disbelief. Ocasio-Cortez contradicted herself yesterday in two interviews about the proposed bill that she conducted within hours of each other.

The congresswoman had to delete the plan’s announcement on her website due to a series of gaffes and lowbrow terms like “farting cows.

Steyn joked that if the legislation is passed, “You can give up your Chevy Suburban and take your cow to work,” though he cautioned the plan is also “committed to ridding America of flatulent cows and airplanes.”

The conservative pundit offered, “I always take a flatulent cow on an airplane as my emotional support animal … you’ve got the whole first-class compartment all to yourself.”

On a more serious note, Steyn cautioned that bill is ominous and talk about replacing air travel with light rail is absurd. He says the real thrust of the legislation is about controlling the movement and travel of the American people.

”When the Soviets tried to do it, we called it totalitarian,” Steyn told Carlson.

MORE LIBERAL BS… CNN Claims Green New Deal that Ends US Gas, Oil Industries, Plane Travel and Farting Cows is “Feasible and Affordable”

by Jim Hoft February 23, 2019

VERY FAKE NEWS…
This is the kind of crap the liberal media promotes to its gullible readers.

green-deal-feasible-junk-cnn-600x399.jpg

In an outrageous new report CNN claims the Green New Deal is “feasible and affordable.”

The media will lie at any cost to put Democrats in power and destroy this great country.

After one of the coldest winters in recent memory Democrats still believe in their global warming junk science.

The Green New Deal will end gas, coal and oil industries, ban farting cows, end plane travel and build bridges to Europe is “feasible and affordable.”

The Green New Deal will also give income to those Americans “unwilling” to work.

CNN believes this is affordable and feasible.
And they wonder why Trump calls them fake news.
