Kordestani warns of approval of oil and gas law, according to the vision of Baghdad

Kurdistan Alliance MP Mohsen Saadoun warned approval of oil and gas law in accordance with the vision of the central government away from the oil-producing provinces requirements.

Sadoun said, Sunday, "There are three versions of the law of oil and gas, first existed since 2007, has been agreed upon, but when it was sent to the Council of State has been changed some paragraphs, prompting some political blocs, including the Kurdistan Alliance to project rejected."

"The second version was in 2010 when the vote on the draft law, the National Alliance, withdrew from the voting session was rejected the bill, pointing out that" the government sent a new law of oil and gas to the House of Representatives, it is located in the oil and energy parliamentary, has not been found by the political blocs. DinarThug Thanks,  DV, The "HCL" is coming to fruition in Jan 2017 IMHO.  All of these articles especially from the Greedy politicians that are Anti-HCL will not succeed this time around.  PM Abadi, Speaker Jubouri & National Alliance will ensure Parliament approves and vote this law in the best interest of all Iraqis.  The Liberation of Mosul will deliver nothing but positive results in all areas my dear DV friends.  Can you say HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR RV / RI OF THE IQD....😊😊😆😆👍👍.

Always Keeping the faith!!

GO RV!!

Thanks, Thug. The 2007 version is the one we want, it has transparency, allows the provinces to pick and choose who they work with and where they drill and shares the oil wealth with all the citizens of Iraq. The other version(s) is predicated on Baghdad controlling all aspects of oil in Iraq, which they've done since the invasion. It's pretty easy to see that this isn't working, the corruption is rampant and pumping figures/revenue has been cloudy since 2006, when Maliki took over as PM.

Thanks DT...Abadi saw the discrepancies with the political blocks and the greed associated with it....Abadi had the foresight to establish the Federal Court that will oversee the process this go-around...The old finger pointing and shoe throwing days are over...Iraq has the HCA which was agreed upon and is the standing precedent for the HCL...The Federal Court will work through their Constitution relating to the HCA issues relevant to the greatest concerns of the Iraqi citizens, eliminating the political greed that has been the main holdup due to corruption....jmho

I agree with you on this one. 2007 version does allow for check and balances, which is good for everyone.

Kurdish alliance "warns" against endorsing Oil Law

%25D9%2585%25D8%25AD%25D8%25B3%25D9%2586 26th December, 2016

Kurdish Alliance MP Muhsen al-Saadoun warned against endorsing the oil and gas law according to Iraqi governmental vision, irrespective of the needs of the oil producing provinces.

He pointed that there are three versions for the law, which were approved since 2007, but some of the articles were changed by the State Shura Council that obliged the political blocs, including the Kurds, to refuse them.

MP al-Saadoun added that the second version was in 2010.

"When voting 2010 version, the National Alliance withdrew from voting, so the draft project was rejected", he added.

"The Iraqi government sent a new draft law, which is in the corridors of the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Commission, but no one was informed about it", al-Saadoun elaborated.

New attempts to endorse Oil and Gas Law

%25D8%25AD%25D9%2582%25D9%2588%25D9%2584 26th December, 2016

The Iraqi National Alliance regarded that the conditions are "ripe" to endorse the long-waited Oil and Gas Law, while the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Commission believes that endorsing the law necessitated a pre-agreement between Baghdad and Arbil.

MP Habeeb al-Tarfi, the National Alliance, disclosed that the withdrawal of the two versions of the law by the Iraqi government as a move to submit a new draft law.

It is known that the differences between Baghdad and Arbil obstructed the endorsement of the law. MPs believe that time is ripe to endorse this law in the light of the current war against Da'ish (ISIS) organization.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Commission Areez Abdulla pointed that any non pre-agreement will make the law difficult to implement, particularly with all oil producing provinces.

Iraq has two oil draft laws, the first was prepared in 2007 and the second in 2011.

According to the Iraqi constitution, the Iraqi federal government should administer the oil and gas production with the local provincial or regional government, where the revenues should be justly distributed according to population density.

The main problem is the National Alliance rejected the draft project.....

Now the National Alliance are ready....

Maybe this has something to do with the Federal Court intervening and informing each block that criminal charges will be administered to any block or person found to be malice in delaying the process of the HCL due to greed or corruption and causing undue hardship on the Iraqi citizens...Any malice act determined by the Federal Court would mandate an official investigation of the accused intentions...These corrupt leader are already witnessing the unraveling of their once thought of untouchable Maliki regime....The destruction of the Maliki party through legal means has far reaching ramification as a result of the Federal Courts backed by the International Criminal Courts....jmho

Thanks DT.

It's going to take a heavy hand to get these people agree on letting the citizens have their share of the cookies while they have both their hands in the jar.

Until Parliament does something to enforce the members to, "Show up for work" and put a live camera feed in the room they will stall as long as possible.

With the latest news of Sadr being warm and fuzzy with Abadi against Maliki it won't be long until the citizens start looking at the Barzani Mafia.

I hope it doesn't come to that and greater powers step in as it will get really messy and the people have already gone through enough.
