The Iraqi oil Ministry said Friday that Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki will tomorrow open Qurna 2 initial production capacity of up to 120,000 barrels, while production in Qurna torrent at the end of this year to 400,000 bpd.

Ministry spokesman Assem Jihad told alsumaria news "," the oil Ministry ended all logistical and technical preparations for the opening ceremony of the West Qurna 2 after completion of drilling by LUKOIL of Russia ", stating that" the opening ceremony will be attended by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and oil Minister and Government officials.

Jihad said that the "initial production field band 2 is 100,000 barrels per day," he said, adding that "initial production will rise to 400,000 barrels in Qurna 2 with the end of the year and this will be reflected on the production of oil in the oilfield and the oil Ministry is planning a production hub in the coming years."

And West Qurna-2 oil field, the second largest untapped reserves in the world capable of extracting about 14 billion barrels and is crucial for the economy.

Lukoil controls 75 percent of West Qurna-2 and looking for a partner to replace shatat oil which decided to withdraw from the project last year.

The oil Ministry announced on 11 September 2013 signed an agreement in principle for the Kirkuk field development despite the opposition of Kurdistan for this contract.

revealed the Ministry of Oil for Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki will be opened this day Qurna 2, which is the second largest oil field in the world with a production capacity of up to 120 000 barrels per day, is likely to reach the productivity of field 400 000 a barrel by the end of this year.

It is the West Qurna field - 2 second-largest oil field in the world's untapped reserves are recoverable of approximately 14 billion barrels and has a great importance for the economy of Iraq.

What is keeping them at the program rate. That is the question.

It would have to be something important. Somebody powerful is making money off of how their currencies (two) are set up right now. Until that changes, we might not see this happen for a while.

Come up to the Bakken Oil Field . . . There's an even larger Field under the Bakken called the 3 Forks [both cover S.Canada nextdoor to N.Dakota & E. Montana] - There's work up here for at least 100 years.

 

Down thru the Mid West into Texas and quite aways out into the Gulf of Mexico Spread other Oil Fields. California Offshore fields and Back east in Pennsylvania & the Appalachians . . . baby do we GOT OIL TOO !

 

Good to see Iraq coming on board and getting those fields online . . . The Oil Field ain't for the squeemish. Dangerous and difficult work out there.
