I have never been able to TELL my wife what to do. I have been able to convince her through some facts and logic but that can be tricky sometimes.

I agree with your assessment, but turning a blind eye is nearly as bad as the act itself.  I was barely 30 when Willy got caught and honestly cared very little for politics in general.  I've always voted for who I considered would do the least amount of damage, not a particular party...and up until 2016 my candidate of choice always prevailed....sometimes I ended up being proud of my choice, sometimes, not so much.  This is the first time in my life I've seen so much ugliness with respect to politics.  We are not coming together as a country and the divide is growing exponentially....and Donald the mean tweeter, seems perfectly fine with that, as long as he keeps getting love from his base.  As always, just my opinion.

I'm finally starting to realize that Donald may have been right about one thing.  He claims to only hire the smartest people....I believe this to be true, and once those smart people come to the realization that Donald doesn't share the same brain function, they call him on it and are fired.  He then hires a whole new bunch to hoodwink for a while and the turnover cycle continues.
