jerryskinz
Just wanted to pass this along. Interested to see if we could confirm this with another source. I just spoke with a friend of mine who is a branch manager for Wachovia Bank. I asked him if he had heard anything about the Iraqi Dinar. He stated "that funny I should ask" he had just received a memo from headquarters about it. He could not remember word for word but remembered it stating to instruct employees within the branch to direct questions to main branch and give toll free number. He also said that they were put on notice that they would be accepting the Iraqi Dinar in the future and it would follow the same steps as any other foriegn exchange procedure. He did say they do not get these often but it really did not mean it was something that would happen soon. He figured that if he was getting the memo either they were getting a lot of request about it or that they feel that they will be starting to exhange the currency with in the next 30 to 60 days. Anybody else on here know someone that works for Wachovia that can vouch for this? Wondering if all the banks are being put on notice? Or if this guy was blowing smoke just to make small talk. He did tell me he would call me later after he found the memo upon returning to his office. Thanks in advance 13

dravmorris2
I have a question. Was not Wachovia, now under the umbrella of Wells Fargo. I think they are part of their "family" Them and American Savings. I only know this because I am a Loan Consultant/Specialist, and I ran a good number of my Loans thru Americans Savings, who was taken over by Wachovia, who was taken over by Wells Fargo. Just thought I would share that info with you................................. Blessings and Prosperity to all dravmorris2 2

fabell
They began to convert from Wachovia to Wells Fargo starting West to East. They only converted GA over the weekend. Many states are still Wachovia.

Uncle Barkie
As of this moment here in Pennsylvania , they are still called " Wachovia" banks ( though the " Wachovia Center " [ home of the NHL Flyers] in Philadelphia is now the Wells Fargo Center .) The banks signs read " Wachovia Bank a Wells Fargo Company ." Just FYI.

Unitedrich
For those of you who missed it on chat yesterday evening, Sonny1 was on, and he has negotiated a deal that he says he will accept for he and his investment group with Wells Fargo (formerly Wachovia) on a spread when it is time to cash in. He compared it to other banks, and has decided to go with them. He also said that Wells didn't know date and rate, but that they felt it would be coming, just didn't know when.

Unitedrich
Unitedrich, do know the spread that Sonny negotiated ? It could be a good bargaining chip for the rest of us. Sorry Hooter, I asked him that question, and I don't think he wanted to reveal it, because he has a few hundred million in investor money in his group, so he was able to negotiate a better deal I am sure than what you or I or the average holder could probably do on our own, and he probably did not want anything said that may come back to haunt him. Keep in mind that is just my opinion that he didnt want to give the info out because of that.
NCTRIGUY
There is not a Wachovia Bank anymore. It is now Wells Fargo, at least in Texas. You are incorrect and correct. There are still Wachovia branches spread across the SE and mid west. They will be converted over to Wells Fargo Branches in the near term. I will ask my wife who is an Executive with Wells Fargo/Wachovia if she has heard anything come out of GBG (GENERAL BANKING GROUP) on this. If you recall Wachovia acquired Golden West/World Savings back in 2006 which was a direct correlation to Wachovia's demise. The only people that made out in that deal were the Golden West owners and employee's.

jlopus
Wasn't it Wells Fargo a couple months back that told all of its senior leadership and investors NOT to invest in the dinar because it was a scam??? hmmmmm.....I guess they had a change of heart! bikertrash
I did some checking a while back and in fact that Wells Fargo will handle the Dinar exchange. If you have an account with them they will not charge you for the exchange, at least that is what the Branch Manager told me. So with the merger or take over that will give us more places to cash in. It was just changing over to WellsFargo, I went ahead and opened up an account with them, I got to talking to the person opening up the account, asking him if they would be receiving dinars, if they RVd, he didnt have a clue to what I was talking about. Oh Well,,,,,We shall see, what the future will bring.
bikertrash
The average bank person doesn't know anything about the dinar, but the person that handles international accounts does.
