Well, our Fed could quit sending the CBI dollars to smuggle. That can’t end well for Iraq That, imo, is the leash the Feds have.

Keep in mind that traditionally, all the Iraqi revenue from the oil sales flows thru the US Fed and then on to the CBI, as the US Fed authorizes the transfer.

These MAY ?? be a legitimate cash transfers via the auctions. It's really, really hard to tell from this/our perspective.

Hopefully the US Fed didn't get bamboozled recently and still has a leash on the CBI ...........

Just sayin' ..............

Agreed, however, look at the cheez whiz heads running the country. My 11 yr. Old straight A granddaughter could bamboozle the heck out of them and make them say thank you.

I've never seen incompetence in government at such a catastrophic level.

No wonder Iraqi criminal politicians were able to ( & probably still do ) play their game so skillfully. IMO

All the Best

The expert in economic affairs, Ziyad Al-Hashemi, explained today, Monday, that the government's approach to dealing with the recent dollar crisis is based on dealing with some negative phenomena related to the dollar economy inside Iraq, without taking effective action to deal with (the roots of the problem).

And between Al-Hashemi in a statement to “ newspaper ” that these problems are related to the dollar withdrawal system, which includes governments, banks, companies, money laundering gangs and businessmen, in addition to the weakness of the legislative and supervisory side, noting that the issue of controlling the movement of the dollar remains a chronic problem and may explode in any A moment again for Iraq to enter deeper economic crises.

And between Al-Hashemi, that recently the sales of the currency window increased to high numbers without this being reflected positively on the exchange rate of the dollar in the parallel market, and the exchange rate differences between the official price and the market price continued at their highest levels, and this indicates that dollar sales do not tend to feed the real requirements of the market Iraqi, but to feed other requirements, the volume of demand for the dollar in the local market is still at its highest levels, adding that the recent government measures have not yet been able to restore confidence in the Iraqi dinar among the citizen and weaken the case of “dollarization” that affects the Iraqi economy and its way to draw sound and effective monetary policies. Noting, “The government's measures are still inadequate and insufficient to bring about the correction required to deal with the problem of the dollar in Iraq.” I finish
