Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, according to the government communication account on the “X” website, today, Friday, stressed the need for the Iraqi government to take concrete, decisive and urgent measures to address the repercussions of the ruling of the Iraqi Federal Supreme Court regarding the navigation agreement in Khor Abdullah and the historical fallacies contained therein, in a way that preserves Hassan. He pointed out that the State of Kuwait reserves its full right to take whatever measures it deems appropriate at the legal and international levels to preserve its established legal rights.

Zagros - Erbil

The Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, confirmed today, Friday (September 22, 2023), that there is no political crisis between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region, “but rather financial legal problems that have been overcome through dialogue and understanding,” stressing that “the region is a key actor in the political process.” "It is an important part of our economic projects that benefit the Iraqis."

In another context, he acknowledged the existence of relations of some political forces with countries in the region, “some of which go back to the stage before the change, or what happened later in terms of countries’ support for the political process,” indicating: “We do not accept any external party to be a party to bring about change in the entity of the political process.” “Every transgression and aggression against Iraq is rejected by any party, as the Iraqi decision is a national decision that does not implement the wishes of America, Iran, or Turkey, and it is a decision based on the interests of our people.”

This came in Al-Sudani’s speech during the dialogue session he held at the American Council on Foreign Relations, on the sidelines of his visit to New York.

He said, according to what the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Media Office reported in a statement: “We went through a painful experience in confronting terrorism, starting from Al-Qaeda and ending with ISIS, but after the victory over ISIS, we lived a new beginning in Iraq,” adding that “the battle against ISIS united Iraqis of all sects and components.” This is what made us move beyond the sectarian, nationalist and ethnic discourse that affected stability.”

He continued, "Competition in the political process is taking place today according to constitutional mechanisms, and there are those who go to the Federal Court or participate in the elections, and this is a healthy sign of the stability of the political system," noting: "Our constitution has established the mechanisms necessary to carry out the amendment, and it is available and possible for anyone who wishes to amend according to the paths." Constitutionalism.

He pointed out that “there are fears for some components about returning to the presidential system,” explaining: “We do not deny the existence of relations of some political forces with countries in the region, some of which date back to the period before the change, or what happened later in terms of countries’ support for the political process.”

He stressed that "we do not accept any external party to be a party to bring about change in the entity of the political process," noting: "We went through a difficult stage after the 2021 elections, but everyone adhered to the constitutional contexts and we reached a political agreement to form the government, which is a sign of maturity in the political process."

He pointed out that "a distinction must be made between the positive relationship with neighboring countries and the negative relationship that reaches the stage of intervention, and every transgression and aggression against Iraq is rejected by any party. If all countries, including America, want to establish relations with Iraq, they must respect the country's sovereignty." And the will of his people.”

He explained that "Iraq is a country of components that have lived in an atmosphere of peace for many years, and trying to penetrate its social fabric will not create stability," adding that "repairing the economic reality is one of the important challenges, which requires diversifying the economy and not adopting economic unilateralism, as the needs of the Iraqis are increasing with their population growth, and oil revenues cannot satisfy them." "You cover it."

He added, "We have a vision for economic reform through which we work to invest wasted resources and direct them to vital sectors, such as agriculture, industry, trade, and tourism. The development road project, the Al-Faw port, and the rest of the projects associated with it, will change the shape of Iraq with a new and diversified economic face."

He pointed out the importance of investing in associated gas, which “represents addressing our environmental problems as well, and we have signed agreements to produce electricity from solar energy up to (2,500) megawatts.”

Regarding the provincial council elections scheduled in Iraq at the end of this year, Al-Sudani said that "most of the parties that will participate in the upcoming elections are emerging parties."

He went on to say, "The theft of the century involved leaders from the highest decision-making centers in Iraq, and senior officials from the previous government were involved, and arrest warrants were issued for them. Some of those accused of the theft of the century are in the United States and hold American and British citizenship, and we await the assistance of these countries in retrieving them," he said, adding “The Iraqis establish their relations with countries based on their response in handing over those wanted for the theft of the century, and our government will continue to pursue them and subject them to justice, regardless of their positions.”

He continued, "More than 3 trillion dinars were stolen in front of the previous government, with its security services and at the highest levels, and the largest percentage of this money went to banks outside Iraq, and we are working to recover the remainder inside Iraq," stressing that "the Iraqi decision is a national decision that does not implement the wishes of the government." America, Iran, or Turkey, and it is a decision based on the interests of our people.”

Regarding the Syrian issue, Al-Sudani expressed concern “about the situation in Syria because it has terrorist hotbeds and areas outside the control of the state, and there are forces from foreign countries, and the instability of Syria threatens the stability of the countries of the region,” adding: “Drugs enter from Syria because of the presence of areas outside the control of the state.” Iraq, Jordan, and even the Gulf states suffer from it.”

Regarding tourism, he stressed that “Iraq has many religious and historical tourist sites, and many delegations began to come to Iraq after the Pope’s visit, and the tourism sector falls within the government’s interests.”

He went on to say: "We made clear to the representatives of American companies that we provide all the requirements for a safe environment for investment in Iraq."

Regarding relations with the Kurdistan Region, the Iraqi Prime Minister said: “There is no political crisis between Baghdad and the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, but rather financial legal problems that have been overcome through dialogue and understanding, and the region is a key actor in the political process, and an important part of our economic projects that benefit the Iraqis.” ".

Regarding the water file, he stated, “We are currently studying a strategic water management project, the first of its kind in the history of Iraq, in order to make optimal use of it. The water file represents an existential challenge in Iraq, and the crisis coincided with the projects of upstream countries that affected our water shares, and there is diplomatic work.” Intensive with neighboring countries,” adding: “We are working on a Gulf water desalination project to provide water to Basra and the rest of the southern governorates.”

* IMO we are there! Too early from my brain (3:30 am here) to include more progress that has been achieved in Iraq, but they have turned around and are ready to run.  Maliki is even praising and supporting this government.

Nader said in a post on the platform (x) Twitter previously, followed by "today," that "an important and active Iraqi movement in New York, included meetings and meetings with an unprecedented number of leaders and leaders of countries from different trends and continents, and the common link between all of them the great desire to open up to and work with Iraq."

He added that "the Prime Minister, over the course of six days, presented, in the best way, Iraq's official speech based on balance, building serious economic partnerships and building bridges of cooperation."

Nader continued: "It is remarkable that most of those met by the Prime Minister, leaders and presidents, are very attentive and interactive with the priorities he adopts," noting that "more than one head of state expressed the sincere desire to visit Iraq, in a clear manifestation of (productive diplomacy) adopted by this government, keen to stay away from formal relations that do not exceed the stage of taking souvenir photos."

There was not adequate funds in the 23' budget to cover just the service/salaries portion of the budget. Funds have not been spent for the 23' portion of the budget. Recently funds have been spent for salaries, retirees, etc from accounts with unpaid balances, funds from stolen monies brought back into Iraq (crooks have been given amnesty if the funds are returned). So what is Iraq waiting on to spend 23' money? The rate.

Yep and ask yourself why they are waiting until November to active the social security and welfare law? This law was passed back in 2013! It’s so important but you can’t activate it years ago? Please. I believe and this is my opinion that they are waiting on new rate as you mentioned…

Do we also forget the artcile where it talked about the two budgets, the second was social security and welfare? They also stated that it would be based on a new rate? I remember it because everyone was discussing it! They then combined the two into one budget or so they claimed…now they have not enacted or dispersed their budget? And now we wait until November for them to activate the social security and welfare law?

Tidbit: Salaries are lagging, infrastructure services have not been refurbished/builtout. But Sadr doesn't have citizens rioting, protesting. Why? 3 months ago or so, PM Sudani told the citizens the IQD would be worth more than the dollar. When Iraqi Muslims traveled to Saudi Arabia for Haj, it was reported they did not spend dinars but spent dollars. Why? Look at the blueprint.

The dollar black market will die a very quick death when the dinar is worth more than the dollar. Poof! Immediate! That is why the exchange companies are complaining. It is against the law to use the dollar currently to even buy a car. The dollar has been outlawed in Iraq.

You cannot build out a country with roads, housing, ports, airports at a rate of 1310 and investors won't touch it at that rate. It just doesn't pencil.
