The independent deputy, Basem Khashan, confirmed today, Sunday, that the Federal Court has officially suspended the procedures of the Emergency Food Security support Law, and while he indicated that the caretaker government is supposed to adhere to its daily duties only, he accused the government of violating the constitution and wasting huge funds.

Khashan said that "the Federal Court put an end to the farce that was taken regarding the Food Security Law and its constitutional violations, and the way in which the law was issued by the caretaker government, and referred it to the House of Representatives."

He added, "The House of Representatives took a long time in discussions and disagreements and divisions occurred due to food security," stressing that "the whole law is unconstitutional, and the parliament's effort has become scattered for nothing."

The independent representative explained that, “there is no other formula or law except with the presence of a government with full powers, as for the caretaker government, it is supposed to adhere to its daily duties only,” noting that “Al-Kazemi’s outgoing government exceeded the constitution and wasted huge funds.”

He pointed out that "if the law is applied correctly, the penalty due against the outgoing Al-Kazemi is 300 years in prison."

It doesn't matter what laws are put forward, they will never be on the same page on anything. You get it! They are so corrupt, we will not see any RV this year or maybe not for years to come. I don't care what the idiot gurus are telling you, all you have to do is think with common sense, and see whats going on with their government. As long as Maliki and he currency auctions are around, nothing will happen. Wake up people! I want this as much as you all do but I'm beginning to think we might be wishing upon a star with this. Its a shame that the Iraqi people are the ones suffering and they just don't care. Please, stop listening to those moron gurus!

Iraqi Finance: The “Federal” decision will affect the extraction of oil and grain reserves

Today, Sunday, the Iraqi Ministry of Finance warned of the repercussions of the Federal Supreme Court's decision to determine the powers of the current government and to cancel the Food Security Law, noting that the federal decision will affect the extraction of oil and grain reserves in a difficult economic situation.

The ministry said in a statement issued by the media office that the decision issued by the Federal Supreme Court regarding the powers of the current government has important implications for the work of the Ministry of Finance, and the court ruled, in fact, that the current draft law on emergency funding proposed by the government is outside the powers of this government. This, of course, prevents this government from proposing any budget law for 2022.

The statement added, “The Ministry of Finance initiated the emergency bill with the full knowledge of the House of Representatives, and the project proposal was keen to invest the gains arising from the rise in oil prices to confront the global rise in prices of basic commodities that affected the poor in our country and to enhance our ability to confront food emergencies in the future, and to cover the cost of Crude oil production by the Ministry of Oil, to repay the Ministry of Electricity's debt on fuel imports, and to help strengthen the Ministry of Finance's financial barriers.

The finance statement stressed that such a law was necessary in the absence of the 2022 budget due to the multiple funding issues that the government faced, stressing that this draft law was in no way intended to be a substitute for a full budget, indicating that the draft law proposed by the Ministry of Finance was approved. Finance by the Council of Ministers, and submitted to the House of Representatives for consideration.

Today, the Supreme Court issued its ruling, which made the bill inapplicable, according to the statement of the Ministry of Finance, which indicated that it (the Ministry of Finance) fully respects the decisions of the highest court in the country and is working to implement them, but we must make it clear that the court’s decision will have an impact on our ability to manage Public finances in a way that would mitigate the effects of the global rise in commodity prices and to allow the government to meet the demands of the electricity sector at the beginning of the summer, in addition to the inability to meet the costs of oil extraction by the Ministry of Oil, and to build a reserve stock of grain.

And the Iraqi Finance continued: In our scattered political environment, where government formation takes months to complete, it is difficult to see how stripping the caretaker government's powers to manage crises and emergencies would serve the greater national interest.

He stated that “the law would also support social welfare; To protect the poor and needy classes in the face of the global economic crisis, provide services in cities, provide job opportunities for graduates and the unemployed, as well as provide urgent funds to support the agricultural sector and deal with climate changes.”

He called on everyone to “stand up to the responsibility; In order to address the implications of the challenges facing the country under the current sensitive circumstances at the internal and global levels.

Zebari criticized, in a tweet on Twitter, the court’s decision to cancel the legislation of the Food Security Law today, saying: “Once again, the Federal Court, whose constitutionality is questionable, is setting itself up as the ruler of the political and electoral process, acting as if it is a guardian and has an instrument of forgiveness over the executive and legislative authorities over the country.”

After the judiciary's decision.. Parliament's finances confirm: There is no solution before us

News source / Noon Agency

Today, Sunday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee considered that “there is no solution, no treatment, and no way out” from the existing crisis except by forming a new government with full powers, following the decision of the Federal Supreme Court to prevent the legislation of the Food Security Law and determine the powers of the current caretaker government headed by Mustafa Al-Kazemi.

A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Mustafa Sanad, said that "there is no remedy or way out for the emergency support law for food security, given that the Federal Court had in advance a decision that prevented the House of Representatives from proposing and sending bills, especially those that contain a financial aspect."

He added, "As the food security law was challenged, the budget law and any proposed law that will be presented in the future will be challenged," stressing, "there is no solution before us except for a government with full powers to send laws to Parliament."

Sanad indicated that "the caretaker government cannot legislate laws according to the opinion of the Federal Court," noting that "there is great pressure to solve the problem of political blockage," according to Shafak News.

Sanad considered that "what happened today in stopping the procedures for legislating the emergency support law for food security and development will push the political forces towards resolving the crisis in the country."

And the Federal Supreme Court (the highest judicial authority in Iraq), decided earlier today, Sunday, to cancel the draft law on emergency support for food security and development, based on a lawsuit filed by Representative Basem Khashan.

The Iraqi parliament had suddenly announced the postponement of a session that was scheduled to be held yesterday, Saturday, to vote on the law, after making some amendments to its paragraphs, and adding other paragraphs.

Don’t want to beat a dead horse,  I think most of the people that had been in this a very long time, knew that this was another dead year, Another one my friends that was holding the Iqd since 2011, developed cancer 2 years ago! He is out of pain now! I will see him again some day! To be absent from your body is present with the Good Lord Jesus! I just hope when my time is up on this earth, that I can be as brave as he was! I’m still hoping we will see an RV/RI this year,  but common sense tells me NO! Next window 🪟 of opportunity 1-1-23! Remember we are not guaranteed one minute on this earth! I knew my friend since 1963! I will miss him! I know he wanted to help a lot of veterans with his Iqd! I’m riding this horse till it dies or I do whichever comes 1st! JMHO!😪

parliamentary finance: iraq unable to pay iran's debts

How come iraq can't pay iran's debts? Wow where is the huge billion of dollars oil revenue going through then? Corrupt's pockets ( malarky and his cronies )?? With the price of oil above $100, iraq should be able to pay off the debts and make the citizens prosperous.
