Apparently all those idiots can focus on is one thing at a time. Mahdi's cabinet. I coulda sworn that the previous GOI left a BUNCH of laws on the books, still to be discussed and voted on....plus the 2019 budget is sitting there, with a pending Christmas break in the wings. And we know how they love extended holidays. Fools.

IMHO - The "Real Reason" for the delay in appointing the remaining Cabinet positions, simply put is;

The bidding ($$$) is still open for the vacant Cabinet positions. The current bids ($$$) did not make "reserve" thus the need to extend the bidding ($$$) calendar for another week ..................

Too many recent articles indicating that greed/corruption is the motivating factor.

:bagofmoney:being handed out  like treats on a buffet table.

They’ve been holding currency auctions forever: why not Cabinet Auctions - they’d have things sorted out straight away. Unless some would cry that this too was unfair which no doubt would end up with another “ mysterious warehouse fire 🔥

Youre right, one thing has nothing to do with the other: they just like setting buildings ablaze , and they don’t really even need a reason. . . . It’s just plain fun !

The struggle over the ministries .. Is hinted at the adoption of a majority vote

07:37 - 27/11/2018

Baghdad - Mawazin News The
conflict between the Iraqi political forces, the remaining ministries in the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi, under the waving of some political blocs to resort to the adoption of the option of "majority" to vote on the candidates of ministries, in the face of those who refuse quotas, and demands the nomination of independent names .
The member of the block, "construction", that the bloc "is still insisting on supporting its candidates to take over the ministries," stressing "adhere to Faleh Fayadh candidate for the Ministry of the Interior."
He pointed out that "the building block has a large number of deputies, and can pass the candidates to the ministries, in the case of resorting to the option of the majority," rejecting "the policy of breaking the will of some political blocs."
In October, the Iraqi parliament gave confidence to Abdul Mahdi and 14 ministers from the new government, while eight ministries have been left vacant so far, the ministries of defense, interior, planning, immigration, justice, education, higher education and culture, due to differences between the political blocs on the names of candidates.
A member of the bloc of "building", that "failure to reach an agreement on the remaining eight ministers in the government of Abdul Mahdi, means to go to parliament to vote and resolve the matter under the dome of the House of Representatives," adding that "the vote will reveal the largest bloc able to pass or impede the vote on ministers "He said.
He said Baha al-Din al-Nuri, spokesman for the "coalition of state law," belonging to the coalition, "construction", "Faleh al-Fayadh is the candidate for the post of Minister of the Interior," stressing in a press statement that his coalition (state law)

Al-Nouri spoke about "resolving the debate on six ministries except the Ministries of Defense and Interior," noting that "the former parliament speaker Salim al-Jubouri is the most likely to take over the Ministry of Defense," pointing at the same time "to nominate other names to take over this ministry."
He stressed that "the need to resolve the ministerial posts, and not allow the management of the proxy," explaining that "agreements on the ministries are subject to change at any moment," stressing that "Abdul Mahdi will come the names of candidates for ministries, and leaves the right to vote.
Qais al-Khazali, head of Asaib Ahl al-Haq, a member of the "Al-Bina" alliance, referred to the crisis of the security ministries. He said in a tweet on Twitter: "What prevents us from agreeing on a rule, the responsibility"?.
In order to overcome the obstacle to complete the formation of the government and so as not to turn the subject into a conflict of wills, which may increase the subject of complexity, what prevents us to agree on the rule (no imposition or refusal) and leave the Prime Minister to bear the responsibility.
This comes hours after criticism of the head of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr, the political forces that want to grant security ministries to the ministers of quotas, stressing that "will accept only two independent ministers of these ministries (Interior and Defense)."
"The Sadr Alliance, backed by the Sadrists, the call by Sadr" is the best solution for the selection of ministers of defense and interior, "recalling in a statement," Sadr stressed from the outset on the need to abandon the quota, and search for a lifeline for the political process. "
And the failure of the Iraqi parliament, to hold a session of granting confidence to the candidates of ministries vacant in the government of Abdul-Mahdi, which was scheduled on Tuesday, while officials played down the possibility of the meeting next week.
