Iraq’s Central Bank to release new banknotes

According to a statement issued by the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), “new banknote denomination of IQD 5000 and IQD 25,000 will be released into the market soon for trade with specifications and new high security protection codes, in addition to the existing security tags in the categories of the current series.”

To me this speaks loudly that they're not abandoning this "series" of currency notes and will instead just continue adding new denominations and reissues of denominations already in circulation. They don't seem to be indicating a move towards an all-new currency but rather a gradual morphing of the current one, starting with same level notes with Kurdish and higher security and then printing lower denominations and moving up the value gradually as things improve. Just my opinion.

I'm thinking they want all the counterfeit currency's off the streets before any change happens, could you imagine the aggravation if you had some dinar saved and find out after the rv that its worthless counterfeit 10k and 25k notes? Plus the old currency was torn and worn out.

I think the notes they're talking about are the lower denomination notes.!

Increase the exchange rate 1:1 get all the 000's notes from the street and investor, and introduce the lower denomination notes

You hear all the time that we shouldn't expect a 100,000% increase in value, but if my memory serves me, did it not drop more than 100,000% overnight? Don't you think that that maybe they would try and replace some of that lost wealth? I believe that is why most, if not all of us, have gotten involved in this investment?
