smee2
Well, the grey cells are getting so old it is difficult sometimes to count on them but ... I do recall ... about two years ago ... or so ... we went through this Big Screen thing. I was not on this site at that time but on another that has since disappeared. We did, though, have major discussions about big screen tvs being put up around Baghdad at that time, and it had to be two years ago. Discussion centred on the hope that these were screens for the dissemination of information on how to use the new currency and it was about to be new currency even though it was the old currency just with a new value. Then someone found a notation near the bottom of some article that mentioned the big screens being used for another purpose altogether ... some other wide dissemination of information but nothing to do with the currency of the country. I cannot remember what it was ... this is where the age of the grey cells comes in ... and fails me. *shrug* I wonder if anyone else remembers this? Or has some other input on it? I cannot believe it is just now that these have been installed as I know for a fact they were installing them two years ago. Even one of the Americans over there confirmed they were being installed at that time but had no information on why. smee2
